Avatar f tn I had the same situation before but just a pneumonia bilateral not covid pneumonia. Are you feeling fine now? Based on my research on pneumonia, the person having it usually recovers for about 6 months. That is totally normal coz you're still on process of healing your lungs and our body is recovering from the illness due to pneumonia. Until now I am having the urge of taking deep breaths and still working on it until my breathing is normal.
Avatar f tn Did you get walking pneumonia after a flu or a cold? Or did you just start getting the lung issue by itself? Usually "walking pneumonia" is a dry cough with sometimes stabbing pain in the side. You usually feel okay other wise but the pain is bad . Or you can just have the hacking cough secondary usually to a flu or cold.
Avatar n tn You should state the pregnancy part first. While you are pregnant, your primary care giver is your obstetrician. Make an appointment to get checked. You could have pneumonia or whooping cough.
Avatar f tn I had the chemo postponed again.... I had one treatment and caught a cold that many of you knew that I was fighting, well went to the hospital a couple days ago and found out that I had pneumonia. Absolutely unbelievable! The only reason I went was because my whole body hurt and I could not eat. I thought that it was a side effect of the chemo. I haven't worked in about three weeks, and my older kids are helping with the younger ones.
Avatar f tn I am 21 weeks pregnant and am getting a cold. Any tips on how to treat it without taking any medication??
Avatar n tn Could this have been walking pneumonia? Almost everything I come across regarding pneumonia discusses high fever, cold/flu like symptoms, and being able to hear it with a stethoscope. In my case, I had fatigue, presumably pleuritic chest pain, and shortness of breath. That seems to be about it. I am not sure if any of the other symptoms (i.e., GI issues, dehydration, and misdiagnosed hernia) are related--which is why I went into so much detail.
Avatar n tn You could have developed pneumonia. Burning wood also is very dirty and hard on the lungs. Also, the cold air breathing through ones mouth, is hard on the lungs. Chest is very painful after open heart surgery and takes time to get better. Did they send you home with a pillow to hold against your chest when getting up or sitting up? If you are extremely out of breath or out of breath more when trying to do something, you should get it checked.

She started running fever and not feeling well shortly after Christmas. There was a bug going around so I didn't think much of it. I gave her asthma medication to her regularly and she rested a lot over the weekend and seemed to feel better. She continued to run fever each afternoon (anywhere from 99.

Avatar n tn To determine if pneumonia is still present, direct clinical examination is important together with diagnostic tests. Pneumonia caused by a virus infection usually resolve after couple of days and recovery may also be affected by various factors including the medical history of the patient. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn A few months ago, my mother was diagnosed with pneumonia. After a round of antibiotics and breathing treatments, she was pronounced well. Since being cured of the pneumonia, she developed diverticultis. This was quite a surprise. Mom is very healthy -- she is 70 and takes care of everyone else. She is very diligent about eating yogurt and taking her probiotics, often scolding others to do the same, especially while on antibiotics.
Avatar n tn Dear Doctor, I am a 36 year old asthmatic woman and I take 250 seretide evohaler 2 puffs twice daily. I got pneumonia 2 months ago (end of August) and I still feel tired, no energy. Do you think I would be strong enough for the swine flu (H1N1) vaccine, or should I wait until I have made a full recovery? Thanks.
Avatar f tn The past few days I thought I had a minor cold since I was coughing a bit, have a headache, and feel a bit of pressure while breathing. I figured I would just wait it out because a cold isn't anything to worry about. Well, my husband had the same symptoms as well, but when he woke up today, it was harder for him to breathe so he went to the hospital and found out he had walking pneumonia but was given nothing to treat it because they said he has to get over it himself.
Avatar f tn When she was about 9 months old, she got a bad cold, so I took her into the ER. It turns out, it was a good patch of pneumonia in her lungs. They kept her for two days on a nebulizer and meds. A few months later, she got a cough and cold again, and I took her back to the ER because there wasn't any room at her doctors. Turns out she had bronchitis, and there was still a small patch of pneumonia left over from the previous stay.
