Avatar f tn I had the same situation before but just a pneumonia bilateral not covid pneumonia. Are you feeling fine now? Based on my research on pneumonia, the person having it usually recovers for about 6 months. That is totally normal coz you're still on process of healing your lungs and our body is recovering from the illness due to pneumonia. Until now I am having the urge of taking deep breaths and still working on it until my breathing is normal.
620048 tn?1358018235 With anything else I have a hard trusting Drs...for instance I have had allergies all of my adult life and at one time I was taking injections for them. And I have certainly felt like I do. And still have hives.. My Dr had an allergy test done by blood work and it says I have no enviromental allergies and I have a copy of the results. It was only pollens and such, no food or meds. I guess I am overly concerned because I want to be in as good shape as I can for my trip in October.
Avatar n tn She is very tiny for her age, she only weighs 38 pounds on a good day. She was diagnosed with asthma as a baby. She frequently gets sick and gets pneumonia in the winter time. She started running fever and not feeling well shortly after Christmas. There was a bug going around so I didn't think much of it. I gave her asthma medication to her regularly and she rested a lot over the weekend and seemed to feel better. She continued to run fever each afternoon (anywhere from 99.
Avatar n tn My Dr asked me to get another chest X-RAY done after a month to make sure Pneumonia is gone completely. I found on internet recovery of Pneumonia can takes 30 – 90days. I am still not sure that all my problem are because of Pneumonia or acid reflux or something else..... If I will find anything helpful for you (or me) I will defiantly post it.
9552239 tn?1404989880 I have allergies too and I have asthma. I wish I could tell you when you feel better and feel normal again. You said you had the severe reaction over a week ago. Glad to hear that you are feeling quite a bit better. My best guess would be that it will be a gradual process of feeling better. I am glad you are now carrying a new epipen and a medical bracelet. I wish you well.
2061712 tn?1355244263 She had a fever her mother at first had claimed was because of teething, later she said it was due to allergies. Her mother who had pneumonia just days earlier was also there. The next day I woke up flemmy and I had s sore throat. I keep coughing . Should I be concerned about pneumonia or I'd it just a cold?
Avatar f tn My seasonal allergies (as well as dust mitea, etc.) are very bad. I understand that allergies are also a type of autoimmune disease in itself. Elaine Moore tends to believe that immunotherapy (allergy shots) makes Graves Disease worse, and can possibly bring on the Graves Eye Disease. She recommends that allergies be treated with the cortisone-type nose sprays and antihistimines instead, because of the nature of an autoimmune disease. I was about to start shots, but now I am reconsidering.
Avatar f tn Walking pneumonia can take a lot out of you (especially since it sounds like this pneumonia has been fairly resistant). The pneumonia may resolve with the doxycycline, but it can still take you a few weeks to feel better. I suggest that you take you medication as prescribed, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids and give yourself some time to heal. When you finish your doxycycline, be sure to see your doctor again so that he/she can make sure that the pneumonia is gone. Good luck.

Avatar f tn For me, when my allergies get bad I always have a heightened worry/awareness that I might get a sinus infection, bronchitis, or pneumonia. So speaking from personal experience, yes allergies might make someone more vulnerable to anxiety. Double check with your doctor/pharmacist on the ingredients in your meds. Drink plenty of fluids. Hang in there!

Avatar n tn In general, the sooner a person can safely get up and moving around, the better--Helps maintain strength, prevent pneumonia, helps get the bowels moving regularly, improves circulation, etc. Good luck!
620048 tn?1358018235 not sure if you saw my post, but my SOB was not allergies..I have pneumonia and its worse than than it has been before. But its wo hard to get someone to hear you. and I was not shy about it. Ten days I called my Drs before I finally call my old Dr who is only here 2 days a week and he said come right in, i will make room for you. There are no longer Drs like him....he has an offfice close to Stanford and he still does HOUSE CALLS. That is unheard of here at least.
Avatar m tn Sometimes it brings up phlegm; other times not. We know she has allergies to ragweed, grass, weeds, flaxseed. Her food contains nothing that she's allergic to. I understand that her allergies may act up in the summer, but her coughing is year-round (we live where we have winter from Nov.-Mar. so the grasses are dead part of the year). They have diagnosed her with pneumonia and found a shady spot on her lung (our vet thinks this may be scar tissue from a previous bout of pneumonia).
Avatar f tn s not in my lungs, and the mucus in my nose is clear. I occasionally get bronchitis and once got pneumonia as a result of this problem. I have been to the doctor 14 times since I first started having problems in fall of 2009. I couldn't sleep at night because I would feel like I was drowning if I laid down. They always prescribe antibiotics, send me for a chest x-ray, and then send me on my way. The antibiotics worked at first, but it always came back, and now they don't work at all.
1232362 tn?1333135406 My cats have upper respiratory infections (being spread amongst themselves by violent sneezing despite my best efforts) and I'm wondering if I can pick this up from them. I have asthma and am prone to these infections myself and have had both walking and regular pneumonia a few times. I'm taking all the regular precautions: washing my hands, etc.
Avatar m tn My son has pneumonia for the second time. First time, the doctor noted traces of pneumonia in his chest and gave him Amox for 10 days. He was fine for another 10 days and got it back. This time, he got better only with IV antibiotics. He was ok for another 10 months with on and off colds, but this time he developed pneumonia again and had to be treated with oral antibiotics. I want to know if there is anyway to help prevent reccurence of pneumonia?
Avatar n tn dry cough for months, some sweats we do not have TB or pnumonia but we think it is caused by environmental allergies/toxins they have n=been doing a lot of aerial spraying, the toxins from it have been found in ground water and soil check out online 'What on earth are they Spraying"
Avatar n tn Originally I thought it might be food allergy, but the same thing happens if I laugh a lot. I have a history of very mild seasonal allergies, no asthma. Have never smoked. Do have GERD. I have had untreated pneumonia once and usually develop bronchitis with seasonal colds. My doctor didn't know what was wrong, so she just prescribed me an inhaler, and it didn't help. Not sure what to do.
Avatar f tn Another possibility is allergy headache. Since you have rashes also allergies cannot be ruled out. Allergies are especially common in the fall season. Please discuss this possibility with your doctor. Keep us posted!
Avatar n tn Husband had headache with 103 fever off and on (mostly on) for more than a week. Finally, on the third time to the ER, they admitted him, diagnosing with pneumonia. He's been at the hospital for a week now, and although fever and headache gone, after CT scan and a couple other procedures, they just told him that his pneumonia hasn't gone away. The doctor said he's going to try different treatment, and tomorrow get a lung biopsy.
Avatar f tn There they said that it was hives and they also took a chest xray because I was coughing uncontrollably. The xray came back and I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I was given an antibiotic (7 days) and prednizone (5 days) and benedryl as needed (which I took every night for about 4 nights when the hives started to flare up.) After starting the antibiotic my cough cleared up very fast! However, the hives lingered, but got slightly better each night.
Avatar f tn I have an eye allergy that started several years ago, after I had pneumonia. My heating/air system at home and in the car irritates my eyes. When the air blows in my face it irritates the veins/blood vessel around my eyes, they get puff and swollen that causes the pressure in my eyes to go up. I'm using four different eye drops provided by my doctor. I only have close-up vision in my left eye and I'm worried that I may soon lose site in my right eye.
Avatar m tn I was treated with levaquin for community acquired pneumonia for a little more than a month (horrible side effects), I was in the hospital 3 times, for 5 days in two of them (the second one was a relapse) and only ER the third one. What is unnusual for me is that the last hospital diagnosed me acute bronchitis and the other ones pneumonia,(the gap between the 2nd and the third hospital was 2 weeks, is this logical???).
