I can't answer your other questions, but I would strongly recommend that you stay home from work as much as you can, and if you are able to telework, do that for as long as you can. You need to rest to help get rid of it and going to work, even if you have a desk job, is going to prolong your illness.

Thank you for your time and opinion... when the ER doc was told of the recent pneumonia, he dismissed it like it didn't matter in the least; that was my first 'strike' against this person. X'rays followed, and again not a word about the Pneumonia; if it was cleared up or not. He just said it was the 'Spontaneous Lung collapse'.. He was admitted and then the Chest tube soon after. The child suffered in pain the whole time and thru out the night.
The counts could be on higher side due to pneumonia and due to stress. Even if you have costochondritis, the WBC count can be high. If you have costochondritis, you can apply a pain killer gel and use a heating pad at the site where you have pain. Since ECG is normal, the pain can also be due to acidity. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. See if this helps.
Im 30 years old and been taking oxycodone 30mg since sept 07 after a motorcycle accsident and am trying to stop taking them I take between 18 and 24 a day and have nodesire to take these any more have buprenorphine 8 mg that i got from a friend and just looking for the best way 2 take them with being the least uncomfortable. i tried today by not taking any when i got up but by 12:30 I had no choice.
My girlfriend is currently in a diabetic coma, and she have pneumonia. Do to the fact that she's in a coma, her body is not fighting the infection, and shutting down. Doctors say she could have a chance at life if they do surgery to drain the lungs, but she could die during the surgery if it too much for her. My question is could she live ?

She still acts as if she is in pain, and has short rapid breaths. She is on Zeniquin, and a pain med. She was originally in an oxygen kennel for 2 days, and was pretty good when we brought her home. Now it seems like she gets these bouts of gasping for air, her gums are still pink.
I am startin to think her vets arent sure what is wrong with her. They say they see improvement in her x rays, but if anything, I believe she is physically going downhill. Could this be fungal?
Hello I am hoping to not bother you to much and not sure how your computer grabs these questions so one more time I will try and ask and be a little more specific. I was feeling pretty bad coughing wheezing, bad chest pain. My friend and I diagnosed it as brochitis or pneumonia so I took 7 Levaquin, one a day for 7 days (had it in the house). Still felt bad after a week or so and went to my doctor who prescribed same Levaquin 500 mg for 7 days. My doctor ordered chest xrays and blood work.
I had a bout of bronchitis and pneumonia during late February and March with several courses of antibiotics. I also took prednisone. I have had a cold for over a week now. I took one cipro 500 pill and then decided I needed to see my doctor. I took that at 5PM. My doctor prescribed prednisone and azithromycin. I have checked and seen that there are interactions in taking these drugs together. How long until the cipro 500 is out of my system so I can begin the other antibiotics and prednizone? Thank you.
She has recurrent pneumonia and gets it about every 3 months or so. She always ends up in the ER with problems breathing and then goes on a round of antibiotics, usually zpak and prednisone steroids. She will sometimes get a steriod inhaler to use along with her normal ventolin inhaler. She will gradually get better and be able to breath normal, only to have the symptoms return in a couple of months. Each time she shes a DR she gets different answers.
I need answers please read my questions and give me some help. I've now learned that the lymph node under my arm pit that is cancerous is completely seperate and will be linked to breast cancer. So I will be facing lung and breast at the same time when they hit. I see a hemetologist at the end of the month.
They put me on aspirin the first day and a iv medication for pneumonia and pills as well. My doctor came in today and was short and fast like normal. He said my troponin levels are down and I can probably leave tomorrow. I asked him what happened to me, I want more info and he said very confusing and then just walked out.... Originally they thought maybe I had a blood clot in my left lung and that was the pain I was feeling and caused some troponin to be released.
I was prescribed azithromycin and told to continue with my xopenex and prednisone. I also took cough syrup, sudafed and motrin. Saturday I was significantly worse and over the weekend it esciladed. My temperature would go from 96.2 to 100.5 and back down over a 30min period. Monday I went back to the doctor and she heard "crackling" and a lack of air movement in my lower left lung. She diagnosed me with community acquired pneumonia.
