4312556 tn?1352642436 Associated symptoms include abnormal skin color or temperature changes, abnormal sweating, and/or swelling of the affected extremity. The exact pathophysiology is unclear. It is likely due to an abnormal reflex arc from the sympathetic nervous system modulated by cortical pain centers, e.g., brain, causing an increase in catecholamine hypersensitivity.
Avatar n tn One must have a conversation with him in order for it to be seen. Since his younger years Ian has never really grasped the concept of time. From the smallest degree of time...seconds, to months weeks and years, he doesn't seem to be able to grasp the concetp. How long it is from one day to the next...how far it is til Christmas, Birthday, weekend, the Andy Griffith show, any thing. Is this a problem usually associated with his diagnosis or is this something totally different?
611067 tn?1458591483 I found this online and laughed the whole way through it - if this is true - no wonder we're in so much trouble! LOL!!! A travel agent for thirty years in our nation's capital has this to report: "This is why we're in trouble! I had a New Hampshire Congresswoman ask for an aisle seat so that her hair wouldn't get messed up by being near the window. I got a call from a candidate's staffer, who wanted to go to Cape town.

Avatar f tn Yeah I had read an article talking about the MAP bacteria being a possible cause for crohns and colitis. but there was no definate answer. Now when you say "you changed everything" what all did you have to do? did you take any of the MAP antibiotics? i wonder why doctors wouldnt perscribe the MAP antibiotic right off the bat. I'd love to know how you found relief. Thank you for your response and I do look forward to hearing from you.
Avatar m tn , and furthermore during some forum research, regarding your professional advices I found out that you are the only one who more understand the whole concept it and have a better idea of how to treat it as well, and by visiting another physician would seem to me so worthless, even though it is a matter of tries where as by using its substitution I would rather go to visit the Walking Clinic where there are some specialists who may certainly predict of how to deal with this problem with their own
Avatar n tn Both atelectasis and emphysema are included under COPD because of collection of air in alveoli and collection of air in tissues simultaneously, but they have their own physiological pathology hidden behind. Pathophysiology of both the diseases are different and they have different evaluation for concluding diagnosis. If this definition does not clear your doubt, there is more clear way how to differentiate emphysema from atelectasis clinically.
Avatar n tn I did read up on it, online, at the library, everywhere. I know all about the pathophysiology and lack of treatment... but they never really talked about the clinical course and what to expect. If you have any experience seeing this problem and have some sense of the course, I would greatly appreciate the information. Thanks.

Avatar n tn I did a fair amount of research prior to my titration and even went so far as to map out my titration schedule on a calendar. My main withdrawal concerns were anxiety, rapid heart beat and insomnia. After a few days of titration when I realized I was not having ANY withdrawal effects I basically stopped "cold turkey." About two weeks, after stopping, I experienced a weird cramping sensation in my hand. Based upon my rigorous physical activity, I assumed I was dehydrated.

Avatar f tn Often I will get a bad cold as well, which has several times become pneumonia. (I had my first bout of viral pneumonia at age nine, in both lungs) For years I would wake up with intense pain in my right ear and would often notice that the ear had been weeping while I slept, as there was a dried crust around the outer ear canal in the morning.

Avatar n tn and a lack of air movement in my lower left lung. She diagnosed me with community acquired pneumonia. I was prescribed Robitussin with codeine to help me sleep, although all it really did was tire me slightly. After another week of feeling completely miserable I started to breath better, my nose dried out, and my cough produced less and less green mucus. Sleeping then was hard, but I was able to take my meds, settle down, sleep for about two hours, wake up again from coughing and repeat.
