Eight days ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia and given medication that made me very ill. I was told that it would take a few days for the meds to do thier job. On the sixth day, I was in real bad shape. I had sharp shooting pains in my back, right side under my ribs, muscle spasms, and shooting pains in my right shoulder. I could not walk, lay down, or sit with out pain .

She still acts as if she is in pain, and has short rapid breaths. She is on Zeniquin, and a pain med. She was originally in an oxygen kennel for 2 days, and was pretty good when we brought her home. Now it seems like she gets these bouts of gasping for air, her gums are still pink. I am startin to think her vets arent sure what is wrong with her. They say they see improvement in her x rays, but if anything, I believe she is physically going downhill. Could this be fungal?

You may have pneumonia. Is the pain in one lung? You would need to get an xray of your lungs to check for it or you may have bronchitis. Go to your doctor because medications are needed for pneumonia. Most doctors give meds for bronchitis too, but it is not needed.

I was feeling pretty bad coughing wheezing, bad chest pain. My friend and I diagnosed it as brochitis or pneumonia so I took 7 Levaquin, one a day for 7 days (had it in the house). Still felt bad after a week or so and went to my doctor who prescribed same Levaquin 500 mg for 7 days. My doctor ordered chest xrays and blood work. Hello and hope you are doing well. Post infection, there could be some amount of bronchospasm and this could be causing the problems with breathing. This can be detected by a spirometry test. Have yourself evaluated for the same. In the meantime try to take warm oral fluids and do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions. Get checked for Bronchitis and Pneumonia. That sounds EXACTLY the symptoms I had when I contracted Pneumonia and I waited a long while before getting checked and it got very bad. Do not wait to seek medical treatment.

His doctor gives him motrin for during work hours and a muscle relaxer for at home but it knocks him out (puts him to sleep) now he is getting depressed due to the severe pain at work and either pain or sleeping at home. I should mention it has almost been 1 year since he was admitted to the hospital originally he is looking for something that will stop or dampen the pain without knocking him out so that he can get back to a somewhat normal life. The reason I worry about pneumonia is because the pain around my ribs (backside) increases when I breathe. Especially when I exhale. I thought about doing stretches and yoga as well. Taking a Tylenol and hoping I can cope. Just needed reassurance it didnt sound like a bigger issue. Thanks again.

The cough brings up a foaming white phlegm, and sometimes causes heart palpitations. Ever since then, I have had chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting spells, weakness, back pain, a worseneing cough, low grade fever, chills, rash on my belly or chest, and nausea. The swollen lymph nodes have also returned. My doctor says I have bronchitis/walking pneumonia and put me on doxycycline on tuesday, but I am not feeling any better. I only have one day of antibiotics left.

I had pneumonia in my left lung 3 weeks ago which was very painful. I now have completed antibiotics but still have pain in my lower rib area that is very sharp when I yawn, cough, laugh or burp. This pain is not getting better. I had an ARNP tell me she does not hear any air movement in my lower lung. I'm curious What may be causing the pain.
