Avatar m tn Maltise received a Lasix (Salix) injection at the same time she received an injection of antibiotic to treat pneumonia. She is also has congested heart failure and since contracting pneumonia has refused to eat - so I have been unable to give her the normal Lasix pill she takes. First Question: Is there any real danger taking the Lasix and antibiotic injections together? Second Question: How soon can I resume her Lasix pill (if she will take it) after having received the Lasix injection?

Avatar f tn Pneumonia is funky and doesn't always follow the classic path. My younger son had pneumonia and I had no idea because he wasn't coughing. He had fevers. On and off fevers. One day fever, stay home from school, fine. Then back to school, another phone call from school that he had a fever. Stay home the next day. Then back to school and ANOTHER call that he had a fever! That's when I took him to the doctors and he was diagnosed with pneumonia. No cough!!
Avatar m tn I have taken antibiotic medication for pneumonia, 7 days of 500 mg azemax (Azithromycin). Could that also clear any std specially syphillis if i had one?
Avatar f tn One ounce of Magnesium Chloride flakes (Pharmaceutical grade) per one liter of spring water, sipped very slowly throughout the entire day. Repeat for 3-4 days. Your symptoms indicate a viral or bacterial infection and are consistent with bronchiestasis. If it is viral, no medicine can help, once the virus has replicated. If bacterial, amoxicillin is the antibiotic of choice for bronchiectasis. You may want to consider Breathing Exercises for Bronchiectasis.
Avatar f tn Good morning I'm being treated for pneumonia just started antibiotics last nite feeling a lol worse off but my question is walking pneumonia contagious......it's funny but ct images showed fluid on right lung and I have side pain ouchee! But now more symptoms are appearing.
Avatar f tn While I was on the antiobiotic the hives seemed to get better, but now that I am off of the antibiotic they are coming back. Maybe my hives are letting me know that the pneumonia is still in me (walking pneumonia?) OR is it more likely that the two are totally unrelated and I am simply getting hives due to something strange I ate and am reacting to (I have some food allergies but avoid them completely)?
Avatar f tn I just started with an antibiotic (my body is not immune to the new country's 'bugs' I moved to, about 2 months ago), so I went to the doctor and she prescribed roxithromycin.I want to know when can I start playing hockey again? I need to take the antibiotics for 14 days. If I feel better in 6 days (when my next practise is) may I go and play, or should I wait until I'm done with the 14day course? Obviously if I'm not feeling well, I wont go.
Avatar f tn They diagnosed me of nonspecific interstitial pneumonia but it seems i haven't got the right medication and treatment for my illness because every night I had a fever.
Avatar m tn s a prescription, it is at a higher dose. The amoxicillin is an antibiotic, as you likely already know. The most common side effects with either of these is stomach upset or pain. If either occurs, discontinue and consult your doctor.
Avatar m tn After earlier courses of Amoxicillin, then Zithromax, upon determining Pneumonia I have been prescribed Levaquin, a much stronger antibiotic; But the Levaquin costs $ 264, which I can not afford. Is there a comparable antibiotic I can take that is more reasonably priced?
Avatar n tn and a lack of air movement in my lower left lung. She diagnosed me with community acquired pneumonia. I was prescribed Robitussin with codeine to help me sleep, although all it really did was tire me slightly. After another week of feeling completely miserable I started to breath better, my nose dried out, and my cough produced less and less green mucus. Sleeping then was hard, but I was able to take my meds, settle down, sleep for about two hours, wake up again from coughing and repeat.
Avatar f tn I recently was perscribed an antibiotic.. This medicine hurt my eyes and made them very sensitive to light. When I called the Dr. he wanted to charge me again to come in his office. I could not afford to return. I discontinued the antibiotic immeditatly. It took several days for my eyes to adjust to daylight. Now my eyesight seems weaker? Have you ever heard of any thing like this happening to anyone before?.I wonder what I should do.
1814032 tn?1392518958 I have been sick for over 3 weeks now, to be exact, it's been 22 days. I started off with nasel congestion/runny nose. A few days later it felt like I might have a sinus infection, because of the nasel pressure and the body aches too. About a week and a half into this, I started having chest congestion/pressure/pain, and severe headaches to go along with the rest of my symptoms.
Avatar n tn He has been having cold symptoms for about a week and now he is weezing, coughing, shivering, sweating and hurts all over. He saw a PA today and he gave him an antibiotic, but tonight he's really shivering and his cheeks, hands and feet are cold, but his forehead is hot. Can a lack of oxygen cause this? Could it be pneumonia?
Avatar f tn 6 weeks ago I was diagnosed with pneumonia through a chest x-ray. I was put on Avelox and an inhaler. Two days later I had to go to the ER b/c the symptoms were worse. Breathing was more difficult. I was then given an antibiotic shot and a Zpac. They did a blood test-WBC was normal. I started to feel better the next week. However, as soon as the antibiotic round was over, my symptoms began to return. I run a low fever on and off all day of 99.

418165 tn?1295753981 21st, the childrens hospital diagnosed my 4 yr old daughter with left lower pneumonia. On the 23rd she had a x-ray to make sure. She went through a antibiotic shot(starts with a r, like Rotussin or something), and a oral antibiotic(zithromax) and was better for about 1week and a half. I noticed the other day her cough, (this is the only symptom shes had), had came back a little worse then it was before.

Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia in the right lower lobe about four weeks ago. I had antibiotic treatment and an inhaler for ten days. I had another chest x-ray after the antibiotic treatment and my doctor said that my lung was looking much improved. The coughing has ended, but I still have not returned to my normal energy level. Also, when I wake in the morning, I usually have a feeling of discomfort in the right upper quadrant of my body.....just a vague aching.
Avatar n tn If his fever and sweating with clammy skin has subsided, it is probably a sign that the antibiotic therapy has been effective and the pneumonia is clearing. You should ask his doctor if she believes him to truly be clinically improved, with signs of recovery. If there is any doubt about this, you should request a blood count and a repeat chest x-ray to confirm that the pneumonia is resolving.
