Common Questions and Answers about Pneumonia in xray

pneumonia

Avatar f tn The second time they told me it returned in the exact same spot. They told me to have another xray in 6 weeks. Hes otherwise a healthy boy what would cause it to return in the same spot. I know there are probably many causes but what comes to mind?
Avatar n tn Potential lingular infiltrate. What does all that mean? I will repeat xray in 3 weeks as dr ordered.
Avatar f tn Flu/Pneumonia was never recorded in his charts which would have been a big help in knowing why they were seeing what they were seeing. As a result of all of this, they put a "stat" order on review and comparison of both xrays on Monday morning. They know about the flu and pneumonia now as well. They are then going to decide if the contrast is necessary. All I can say is, "WOW!" On a side note.

Avatar f tn she had a chest xray done on thursday and showed pneumonia. She started on amoxicillin on thursday and azithromycin on friday. She had a fever again on monday night after her shower. today she felt warm to the touch but normal rectal and tympanic temp. shouldn't the fevers be gone by now because of the antibiotics? We live near phoenix az and she got tested for valley fever the results are still pending. I'm just worried. I really don't know what to do at this point.
620048 tn?1358018235 I found out from my last chest xray that my pneumonia is getting better, it looked good he said. My question is how long does it take to recover from pneumonia?
Avatar m tn Do you have any symptoms of pneumonia such as fever, cough, chills , pain in the chest. If so it could be bronchitis or pneumonia. Or a variety of other things. Xrays are somewhat non specific. How do you feel besides having scanxiety? I always get that from Xrays and MRI's etc. try to take it easy.
5601163 tn?1370701672 Could be residual changes from the pneumonia -- many times the xray takes longer to completely resolve than the symptoms, even after a course of antibiotics. Sometimes, pneumonia develops in response to mild airway blockage from a mass or tumor, so if they saw something (even small or subtle), they probably just want a CT to make sure it's not something like that.
Avatar n tn In most cases, Kennel Cough is more annoying to the owner than it is to the dog, because the dog hacks and coughs at all hours making it difficult for the owner to sleep or concentrate on anything but the hacking sound. In some instances, though, it does worsen to the point where it CAN cause pneumonia, and the fact that he had the cloudiness in his chest x-rays and it doesn't seem to be responding to antibiotics sure looks like a case of Kennel Cough that has gotten much worse.
994239 tn?1321203620 I have had high fevers, chills, and all but NO cough and NO phlegm whatsoever. The Pneumonia was diagnosed on a chest xray. Does it mean anything if I simply do not cough and have no desire to? Doesn't that infection have to come out somehow? Or can it just be that the pneumonia is only causing inflammation with no phlegm? I have been sick for 2 + weeks, and started antibiotics about a week after the onset of the chest pain, when I spiked 103 fever and chills, rapid heart rate.
Avatar f tn He was seen earlier in the week by our primary care physician and given a chest xray. Xray came back clear except for pneumonia. He has asthma as well. He now has sharp and constant neck and arm pain. Pain has been going on for two days and is concentrated mostly in the neck, but also on the left side of his forearm; both on his left side. My question, is this a cause for concern? Fever is gone. 31yo/m.
Avatar n tn In April the cough changed and I begin to feel a rattle in the left side of my chest, the doctor did an xray and it showed mild pnuemonic consolodation in the mid and lower left lung, I should add this was really mild, I had no fever and continued on feeling fine beside the cough and rattle.
Avatar f tn my friend had a cough for over two months,he was in terrible pain with his ribs,he went to the docs who told him he had pluracey, but wasnt convinced so he went to hospital and a xray showed he had cracked two ribs through coughing.if you are in so much pain go to the hospital,it might be nothing but dont suffer.

Avatar f tn So here I sit worrying, waiting and praying that it was just pneumonia and the spot will be gone in the next Xray or CT scan.
Avatar m tn I have all the symptoms of pneumonia. The xray came back as either pneumonia or lung cancer. Small mass found on lower left lung. Treating me for pneumonia. I will have repeat xray possible cat scan. Asking in advance. How often is this found? Can pneumonia look like lung cancer? Day two of medication and I do feel better and fever broke. I still have pains from my cough and still expereince the sweaty, hot and cold bouts but feel better despite general aches and pains.

Avatar m tn I went to the ER over a week ago. I had a chest xray and was told I have pneumonia. Whenever I cough I get a sharp pain in my right breast. If I lay on the right side it hurts. Has anyone had this happen? Is this normal? I'm getting worried.
Avatar n tn My dr did order blood tests and they were a little elevated not sure which ones were low or high. Also she ordered another xray in 3 weeks after Levaquin is completed. Symptoms were of course coughing, wheezing, really bad chest pain. I took some Levaquin at home as my friend gave it to me 7 pills. Still feeling bad finally to dr then...my doctor ordered blood work and chest x-ray and given Levaquin 500 mg 1 day for 7 days then in 3 weeks another chest xray. Thank you for your reply.
Avatar n tn I have not had any history of TB or any lung or pulmonary disorder in the past. I am already 40 years old and this is not the first time I took an xray test. there were no such findings in my past results, so why now? I am really disturbed. Also, if their findings are positive towards the lung scars, will that be grounds for them to declare me as unfit to work? This is the first time I encountered this condition - lung scars. What does it mean? Should I be scared?
Avatar n tn I had h1n1 and then had a chest xray and was diagnosed with pneumonia. The results of the xray also showed Ectasia of the thoracic aorta. What does this mean? Do I have an anuersym? I am overweight and have Mitral Valve Prolapse and take Toprol 50ml for my MVP. Can the inflammed chest wall give this reading or should I be concerned and see a cardiologist? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn There they said that it was hives and they also took a chest xray because I was coughing uncontrollably. The xray came back and I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I was given an antibiotic (7 days) and prednizone (5 days) and benedryl as needed (which I took every night for about 4 nights when the hives started to flare up.) After starting the antibiotic my cough cleared up very fast! However, the hives lingered, but got slightly better each night.
Avatar f tn If not, the burning sensation could be due to a reflux of the acid of the stomach in the food pipe which usually results in a burning sensation in the centre/middle of the chest. If the pain is in the periphery and especially if it’s on the left side and is radiating in the arms, I would suggest you to get an ECG done as pain of ischemia(compromised blood supply to the heart) can also present in the form of burning sensation. I hope you’re not suffering from any fever/cough.
