454286 tn?1205883067 Sent him for second xray, which showed atalectasis and pneumonia altho the report didnt say any pneumonia, just atalectasis. Treated him with 10 days Augmentin and Pedia Pred. Cough cleared up, No sickness either. 6 days after antibiotics , breathing tx's and pedia pred finished, cough returns with fever. Had chest CT and doc says Atalectasis caused by Asthma. (I dont have this report in hand but will have exact report then). Could this be RMLS?
1737159 tn?1316672635 t open his eyes any more, I called his pedia and we were advised for admission in the hospital. The pedia said that she can refer me to an optalmologist if I choose, but the possibility is there should be a surgery because there's already an abcess. But Im skeptical about the surgery, because it might deform his eyelid and he might be scarred for life, my son is just 4 years old. Is it really necessary to do surgery or the swelling will just go away in time?

Avatar n tn The best thing I can recommend that my doctor recommended to me was to try my best to get down some ensure shakes, try Pedia light or Pedia light pops (sometimes frozen stuff like ice is easier to hold down), and also try freezing some Gatorade (only to the point of a slushy)... the ensure shakes have lots of vitamins, protien, calories, etc that we need and it is just a small bottle and was much easier to hold down versus food (not all the time, but most of the time).
Avatar f tn I do not feel hungry and every time I have something like Pedia-sure I feel stuffed instantly. Being in Germany it is hard to explain my sittuation to the doctors very well, so they did a Barium Swallow study on me and said my esophogus is fine. I know it is not my esophogus with the problem, because liquids would be comming up more often then solid food. I believe there is a blockage in my stomach or upper intestines that isn't letting solid food to pass, but still allows liquids through.

1400336 tn?1280753890 I do hold an advanced degree and I can read diagnostic reports and comment sensibly on them. I take pride in researching information in areas that interest me and I will not comment on medical issues that I have no knowledge about. I cannot rid myself of the utmost integrity since it is a badge of personal honor My interest are in Aneruysms, Bone Cancer, and Migraines. You may find that most comments here are folks having experience with specific disease that they are living with.
Avatar n tn My daughter is sick and she takes Adderall xr 10mg can I give her pedia care muti-stymptom cold pluse acetaminophen?
Avatar n tn Two weekends ago I woke up with the usual backache associated with pneumonia. I get it twice a year, so on Monday I called my doctor and went in. I was not seen by the doctor but was given prescriptions for the pneumonia and an order to get x-rays done. On Thursday I got the call that the x-rays did not show pneumonia and to stop taking the medication. On Friday I was worse so I went to the ER. That's where they told me I dislocated my ribs from coughing due to the pneumonia.....
Avatar m tn Hello, First of all atopic dermatitis should be ruled out in your daughter’s case. Regarding dandruff, you should use shampoos with ketoconazole after getting them prescribed from her pediatrician. Sometimes an allergy to dairy products, nuts and chocolates may cause dandruff, in which case you should avoid them for about eight weeks to be able to access its effect.

Avatar n tn Hello, I have an elderly cat who is constipated. Have taken him to the vet who gave him one dose of Pedia-Lax (children's enema) and told us to buy some on the way home and give him more at home. He is not eating or drinking either. My question is this, the vet did not tell us how often to continue the Pedia-Lax and I wonder how much water I should try to get down him each day. I'm also given him Laxatone. Any other help would be so appreciated.
Avatar m tn First time, the doctor noted traces of pneumonia in his chest and gave him Amox for 10 days. He was fine for another 10 days and got it back. This time, he got better only with IV antibiotics. He was ok for another 10 months with on and off colds, but this time he developed pneumonia again and had to be treated with oral antibiotics. I want to know if there is anyway to help prevent reccurence of pneumonia? Will there be any damage to his lungs because of reccurence of pneumonia?

Avatar m tn My wife and I are kind of confused with the behavior of our 5-day-old daughter. We decided early this morning to go and consult a local pedia due to the following symptoms: 1. She has a hard time burping which leads to vomiting. As of yesterday she vomited twice. 2. She consumes less than 2oz of milk every four hours. 3. She seems to fart a lot with less poops. To be exact, her poops are yellowish in color and looks like tiny stones. 4. She has heavy breathing while sleeping. 5.
1910491 tn?1333702084 This is common in a newborn due to lack of complete development of the drainage system in the eye. You should consult your pediatrician. If more than usual, you may get a referral to a pediatric ophthalmologist. Dr. O.
