My 16 month old male Siberian Husky has had what our vet is saying is pneumonia for a week and a half now. His symptoms before we brought him in were extreme fatigue, coughing and hacking up mucus multiple times an hour, runny nose then very stuffed nose, difficulty breathing and a slight fever (103).
We had an xray done and they saw cloudy-ness all throughout his lungs, which led them to believe it was a bacterial pneumonia and not aspiration pneumonia.
Couldn't hurt. Better to be safe than sorry.
Week 1-sore throat, fatigue, weakness, couldn’t get out of bed, chest tightness, slight cough. Went to doctor and was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia and was given doxycycline and steroids.
Week 2-got so weak I ended up in the ER. They said it’s just part of the illness and to keep up with antibiotics.
On week 2.5 I began vomiting but only a couple times.

I was feeling pretty bad coughing wheezing, bad chest pain. My friend and I diagnosed it as brochitis or pneumonia so I took 7 Levaquin, one a day for 7 days (had it in the house). Still felt bad after a week or so and went to my doctor who prescribed same Levaquin 500 mg for 7 days. My doctor ordered chest xrays and blood work. Blood work was just a little off she said not sure what was high or low as this was told to me over the phone.
Would carinii pneumonia present itself with just a minor cough and congestion and no fever, no rash or other symptoms. In other words is this type of pneumonia something that is more severe? I have not had an exposure to someone with HIV, but I have allowed myself to receive oral sex on occasion from guys that I did not know their HIV status.
I had pneumonia 6 months ago, which was treated with antibiotics. I got well but my cough continued. I cough (mostly dry with some mucus) throughout the day and it cough bouts are horrible at nights. I ignored the cough thinking it will fade away. Few months ago, I started experiencing breathlessness and tightness in chest alongwith coughing. In April the cough changed and I begin to feel a rattle in the left side of my chest, the doctor did an xray and it showed mild pnuemonic consolodation in the mid and lower left lung, I should add this was really mild, I had no fever and continued on feeling fine beside the cough and rattle.

He is still running fever with a wet cough. Through all of this, he has continued to have a wet cough. Whenever he comes off a med he runs fever. We feel we are getting no where. The only thing we have been hearing is, "He's been a healthy child before Dec. so they are hesitant about running other test." They say his pneumonia looks good but then put him on Amox-Clav ES. They say it could be viral, but the test are negative.
Hi and sorry you have been ill. We are not doctors on here but I am a microbiologist and can give you some advice. There have been a lot of viruses out this year. Some really bad ones. Did you get walking pneumonia after a flu or a cold? Or did you just start getting the lung issue by itself? Usually "walking pneumonia" is a dry cough with sometimes stabbing pain in the side. You usually feel okay other wise but the pain is bad .
