5915949 tn?1396188227 They say its a class B which means there arent any studies whether its safe or not. 16wks and have a sinus infection and I'm wondering has anyone taken a Z-pack for antibiotics and had any complications?
Avatar m tn I will have repeat xray possible cat scan. Asking in advance. How often is this found? Can pneumonia look like lung cancer? Day two of medication and I do feel better and fever broke. I still have pains from my cough and still expereince the sweaty, hot and cold bouts but feel better despite general aches and pains. They said possible cavitary pneumoina. What is this?
Avatar n tn these are your antibiotics? why do you think your kitties need antibiotics? what strength are they and how much do the kitties weigh? you do know that using an antibiotic on cats can be dangerous...you have to be very sure there is an actual infection, than the culture needs to show what antib will work for that strain.
Avatar f tn m SURE he needs antibiotics. I can not afford a vet. I have some Augmentin, Is that ok to give a cat? I know amoxicillin is, but augmentin is a combination of amox. & something else. I really want to help this cat; i'm afraid he'll die if i don't. What should i do?
Avatar m tn Each time she shes a DR she gets different answers. The 1st time was you are allergic to your cat, so she got rid of her cat. She quit her job working in a kitchen because they thought that was the problem, however this is still ongoing. Her DRs dont seem to be overly concerned and tell her she just has colds often and her lungs get infected easily. This has been very frustrating, any suggestions as to what we can do?
Avatar n tn If this amoxicillin or ciproflaxin is human medication, do not give this to your cat as this is made for human consumption not for cats. Take your cat to a vet to be properly diagnosed and treated. Under no circumstances should you ever use human prescription meds on a cat.
Avatar f tn I am sorry to tell ya this, but this will not just go away-your cat needs antibiotics that are different from the ones that were used for your cat's ear infections. Will your vet take post-dated checks? Or, you can look into a special credit card for pet care only called Carecredit. I hope that you'll be able to work something out!
1472764 tn?1287588186 When I had pneumonia with my daughter, I was on antibiotics to clear it up and everything was fine. I was just put on amoxicillin for a dental infection. Both amoxicillin and the medication in your z-pack (I'm assuming that is what you are taking?) are both Pregnancy Category B and considered safe during pregnancy. I even specifically asked my Pharmacist and she assured me it is safe.
1901977 tn?1333991726 I was trying to tough it out but my upper respiratory infection has moved down into my chest and with my asthma, the doctor is really worried about it turning into pneumonia and just put me on the "Z-Pack" (Azithromycin)antibiotics. I'm in my 12th week right now, and really worried about taking them. But the doctor says if my breathing goes bad or I get pneumonia that's much worse for the baby...so I just took my first dose tonight.
1618318 tn?1318196283 I have swallowing disorders that put me at risk for aspiration pneumonia. Are there any tests that can be done to differentiate the type of pneumonia? I have had several xrays done on my chest and was put on antibiotics.
Avatar n tn It commonly leads to bacterial infections that require antibiotics to cure. Pneumonia is also a somewhat common complication. Most cats will stop eating when suffering this infection due to mouth pain. Adult cats usually aren't as affected as kittens are, but this is a tough infection for cats of every age and can be fatal if not managed. Hospitalization is needed from time to time if the cat will not eat.
Avatar n tn Buddy was diagnosed with pneumonia and has gone through a course of doggy antibiotics and 3 courses of human antibiotics. The right lung is full of fluid. He would get better, then be energetic and get worse. It was suggested that he may not have pneumonia but CHF. Is there anything to do to help him. The vet doesn't seem to have any suggestions. Would a diuretic help? He's starting to not eat now.
Avatar f tn Go get yourself some medicine I had bronchitis 8 weeks ago and after 3 antibiotics, 1 breathing treatment, & 2 inhalers we thought I was fine but I have been really sick for a week now and went to the ER today because I was dehydrated and thought my kids had given me the flu, turns out I have pneumonia.

Avatar n tn I was feeling pretty bad coughing wheezing, bad chest pain. My friend and I diagnosed it as brochitis or pneumonia so I took 7 Levaquin, one a day for 7 days (had it in the house). Still felt bad after a week or so and went to my doctor who prescribed same Levaquin 500 mg for 7 days. My doctor ordered chest xrays and blood work. Blood work was just a little off she said not sure what was high or low as this was told to me over the phone.

Avatar f tn I took her to the vet last night and they gave her some antibiotics and a fluid shot because she is so dehydrated. Today will make it a week she has been sick. I couldn't afford to pay the vet to keep her overnight with an IV. I left her with my mother in law today who use to work for a vet many years ago. She plans on giving Lily some mineral oil to try to help her pass the stool that is in her intestines. The vet wanted to get her hydrated and go straight in for surgery.
176135 tn?1314752638 My 17 year old cat has always been a hearty eater. He had a hyperthyroid condition that we treated successfully with radioactive iodine a few years ago. Lately he hasn't eaten much and has gotten very thin, and he tends to stagger when he walks, like his back legs are weak. We went to the vet, who tested him for diabetes, hyperthyroidism and did general blood work that all came back negative.
