I too, was active (walking 6 miles a day), good diet, all you are, but developed a weight problem. I had all my meds evaluated for a side effect of weight gain, and none had this. I drastically changed my eating habits, and eat every 3 hours, small amounts of good stuff. I started doing this in Jan. and have lost 42 lbs.
I have elected to have some minor cosmetic surgery (liposuction) around the waist to help assist me in m weight loss. I know I have to come off Plavix 10 days prior and about 5 days after. Really wondering what damage could be done in 15 days of coming off Plavix if any? All my stents were drug eluding stents.
I was having usual symptoms of hypothyroidism - fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, hair loss, etc. Have been on Levothyroxine for several months now and have seen improvements in all symptoms except hair loss. I have my blood tested for IN/PTR regularly. Since taking Plavix and aspirin I have severe bruising. I try to be careful but bruise just brushing against a doorway, for example. My dog was sitting on my lap and when he jumped off to the floor the pressure of lifting off caused bruising on both legs.
I take 75mg of Plaxi once a day and one 81mg asprin once a day. I have been on Plaxix for 9 years. Can I safely stop taking Plavix and continue with th 81mg of asprin. I did not have a heart attack, I had an agina attack. I had open heart surgery, one bypass in the LAD in 2000. I am bruising very easy lately and wonder if I'm doing more harm than good with the current medications.

I was started with 3.175 mg X 2 and it just hammered me with symptoms of breathlessness and exhaustion for a week or so, but that ended. In my case it was doubled and and doubled, etc., now I take 50 mg a day. It might be reasonable to discuss cutting your coreg in half and see if that helps, and take baby steps with it. It's a wonder drug in my opinion, but hard to get used to.

Without close exam, they appeared to be sores. I left the hospital with a script for Plavix. I took them only one month. At present, the tops of my arms have numerous bruise looking discolorations, with the front of my legs being practically cover with same. At first the discoloration stopped at my knees, but then I noticed that above the knees, small round spot were slightly showing through the skin. My cardiologist would not let my dentist allow me to stop taking Plavix for even 5 days to alleviate my pain due to a cavity .The dentist is bent upon my discontinuing Plavix to enable filling of the cavity or do root canal to solve the problem.

Well I'm 7 months that means I'm 27 weeks and I have only gain 1 pound my midwife said it was OK 4 me to not gain weight bcz I'm over weight so u girls tell me it seems like I won't have to do a lot of weight loss. How far are u nd how much you gain?
I HAVE 3STENTS AND i can't come off Plavix.. I had a colonoscopy this morning for diagnostic reasons and I am full of polops,but they couldnt take any out while I am on Plavix...Last time I went off plavix for 2 days I had my 2nd heartattack so I CAN NOT GO OFF OF IT..I hac surgery to remove a salivary gland and had to stay overnight for obsevation and everything turned out all right.. Is there anyway to remove these polops while on Plavix ?
