I was in a terrible car accident causing me to be in the hospital for one month and now leaving me on Plavix for 5 months so far. i have had many of the side effects; nausea, dizziness, fatigue, easy bruising etc. but lately something came up that shocked me, i don't know how long they have been there for, but my throat had been hurting for about 2 weeks and i looked in my mouth and saw white lesions and ulcers in my mouth.
In 2007, at age 54, I had a heart attack and received 6 drug-eluding stents in one artery. Prior to that I had virtually no symptoms, and no risk factors except for stress, and the cause of the heart attack was a mystery to everyone. I stayed on plavix for 6 months (along with low-dose aspirin which I continue to take) and couldn't stand the side effect of severe bruising.

I am 67yom, and wanted to know more about taking Plavix (s/p stent x1). when was it introduce for usage ?, and How long can one take it with out hurting other parts of body?...My Dr seems to think that I'm to old to know anybetter (just from him always changing the subject or answering the phone just when I need an answer). I had two coated stents inserted March 22, 2010 and have been taking plavix, 81 mg aspirin and continue taking coumadin (5mg 6 days and 6 mgs 1 day a week). m guessing that you have significant bruising from both the aspirin and plavix therapy. I had commercial salmon trollers for fifteen years not too far from you, and believe you have to have had a lot of bruising caused by the type of work you do.
