Plavix fish oil

Common Questions and Answers about Plavix fish oil

plavix

Avatar f tn If fish oil was a better option or equivalent for plavix then I'm sure that this would be given to patients so they don't have problems when bleeding. Plavix is proven to work with DES and there is a lot of controversy over fish oils. I have seen independant studies in the UK that showed out of 100 subjects, 50 ended up with higher cholesterol and 40 had no change. Research is showing more and more that supplements are not readily absorbed by the body, they need to be in natural foods.
Avatar f tn i also have been using coconut oil in my coffee with agave and in my smoothies ive read so many differant articles stating all the benefits of using coconut oil, fish oil, flaxseed, parssley tea. can i benefit from them?

Avatar f tn I was eating 12 almonds a day, 1 Fish Oil pill, 1 Black Current Oil pill, 1 Softgel multiple vitamin and 2 Tsps. of peanut butter throughout the day along with the 2 Tablespoons of Flax oil prescribed. Is there any other oils I can take to help with dry eye and macular degeneration that won't hurt the heart? I also use hot and cold compresses for the dry eye.
Avatar f tn Cod liver oil or any good fish oil.( I use Carlson fish oil lemon flavor ) Cod liver and other fish oils work by making platelets (the very small element in your blood essential to the clotting process) so slippery that they can't stick together easily to form a clot.
Avatar m tn I was having usual symptoms of hypothyroidism - fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, hair loss, etc. Have been on Levothyroxine for several months now and have seen improvements in all symptoms except hair loss. I'm also on Plavix (due to a TIA), which I understand can also cause hair loss. I started on it shortly before beginning to exhibit thyroid symptons. I've had breast cancer, so can't take estrogen.
612551 tn?1450022175 I started taking 2 grams of Omega 3 Fish Oil capsules a day about 10 days ago. I had my ProTime/INR test run last Friday. INR came in 1.7, my desired range is the usual 2 to 3. I have a log history of testing near 2.5 +/- 0.3 so I wonder if the Omega 3 might tend to make the blood clotting go up, like vitamin K, green salads....
Avatar f tn Hi I am 38 year old female that on March 14th I woke up that morning with a headache, took 2 ibuprofen and didn't really think anything of it. While cooking dinner I began to see things thru both eyes that I have never seen before this lasted a few minutes. They were like half circles in zig zag shape to the left side of both eyes that also were electrifying looking as if to say like electricity. My left arm and hand began to feel funny almost jelly like and weak.
976897 tn?1379167602 Just to complicate the Plavix/generic Plavix issue, I was told to stop taking Plavix after bypass surgery, and the bruising immediately became a bigger issue and remains a bigger problem today. I'm not sure the bruising/bleeding issue is completely understood. I still take 80mg aspirin, and wonder if that is the cause. pippi331, sometimes one is allergic to the filler with generic drugs. I'd sure report your situation as soon as possible.

237039 tn?1264258057 Hopefully you are taking a statin and importantly a high quality fish oil supplement, 81mg aspirin and Plavix. Omega 3 fish oils lower your Trigs. Lovaza (Lovasa?) is a high end product, but very expensive. I'd look for a fish oil that uses Mackeral and Sardines. Many of the Salmon oil supplements use farmed salmon, and they aren't a quality product at all Are you diabetic? I hope you let us know what you find out and how this is treated.
Avatar m tn How long am I suppesed to take plavix after stint placement? Is taking aspiran with plavix healthy?
617441 tn?1221176206 I have heard that fish oil can help children with ADHD. Has anyone one heard of it or used it? I don't want to put my son on medication I have seen what it does to him.
374933 tn?1291081784 I have graves and thyroid eye diease and flaxseed oil works better for me than fish oil. I take it everyday and it seems to help, also staying hydrated is really important. And if I am good not drinking helps...but sometimes you just need the wine.
Avatar n tn I have very dry skin, which has been worse since I've been having thyroid problems - I had been taking flaxseed oil, but the doctor suggested that I try fish oil instead (3000 mg/ day), as it's more easily absorbed. It made a real difference - for the better :-) You should probably ask your doctor, but if they have no objections, it could be quite helpful.
Avatar f tn I have tried different brands of fish oil on different occassions as well as my husband. I wished I could take it for the health benefits; but, in our case, it causes digestive upset such as bloating and gas. So, I've replaced fish oil with flax seed oil and we do not experience the gas and bloating we had with fish oil. In my case, I feel much better on flax seed oil, emotionally as well as physically.
Avatar n tn They provide about 1 gram of omega-3 fatty acids in about 3.5 ounces of fish. Fish oil supplements are usually made from mackerel, herring, tuna, halibut, salmon, cod liver, whale blubber, or seal blubber. Fish oil supplements often contain small amounts of vitamin E to prevent spoilage. They might also be combined with calcium, iron, or vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, C, or D. Fish oil is used for a wide range of conditions.
Avatar n tn If it were me, I would probably avoid the Salmon oil and use a different kind of fish oil. Carlson had a great one and I can tolerate it well, I have all kinds of allergies, but, this is good for me to take.
Avatar m tn Actually, two things: If you're not allergic to krill oil, it is touted to be the superior form of animal based omega three oil. Second, all people should ideally use krill oil or fish oil everyday indefinitely. If you're able to take the krill oil, use that one. I've learned that fish oil can be rancid without one actually knowing this, whereas, krill oil doesn't have this tendency so much.
Avatar f tn After talking to this lady about being pregnant, she advised me to take fish oil and that it had great benefits for the baby and I. It helps the development of the babies brain. Has anyone else heard that too?
Avatar n tn incedentally, a relative has had quite frequent bouts of A fib for some years, and we both started fish oil and coQ10 couple years ago..........it reduced the amount of episodes for both of us.........oo maybe it was the placebo effect....don't know for sure...........also, she has changed jobs to one which has eliminated the acute stress she was under, and now has not had an Afib since .........so, if your daughter could reduce the stress, surely it would help........
