My insurance is not paying for it and its cost is 280.00 where I live. The other ER Doctor sent a Prescription for Plavix which is covered. Is this a good choice? He was referred to an Internist and Urologist for prompt treatment. He is 47 and has had irregular heart beats incidents.

Well, plavix is coming off patent next year so the cost should come down substantially. In my case though, I got a DES placed in my LAD in December 2009. My cardio said, I am not responsive to Plavix, but not to worry. Start taking this new related medication called Effient. Effient, however, comes with greater chance of bleeding and it is expensive.

t want to go back for fear of being labelled a hypochondriac, but the pain is very real and it occurred to me this morning that I could possibly have a collapsed stent. I stopped taking plavix 7 months ago because the cost is prohibitive. The doctor didn't seem concerned about that, and not knowing that I needed to take the aspirin forever, I stopped taking that too, about 4 months ago. What should I be doing. I have started taking the aspirin again, three days ago.

A drug coated stent was put in and he was put on plavix and aspirin. His heart has been heavily damaged. We were told that he needs bypass surgery and it has been scheduled for March 11. The doctor said he needs to stop plavix 7 days before. I'm worried because he just will have had the stent put in at just over 3 weeks.

Been on Plavix for 6 years for 5 DES stents. Very recent, I had an event monitor for 3 years of ongoing, sporadic irregular heart beats that causes 5-8 seconds of dizziness/lightheadedness. The Plavix is widely advertised and available in the USA. I have discussed with my cardiologist in past years. He said, no way is it a substitute fo warfarin... but again I tolerate warfarin well. But too, I've never had any severe cuts while on warfarin.

I want to become a mother again. I have a 19 y/o. I am a newly wed. My husband has no children we are considering IVF but it is so costly. Not sure if I am able d/t high FSH. didn't get result for AMH as of yet. But if its not possible for me to have one biologically we are considering using DE. My question. Is it cheaper using a family or friend as a donor in comparison using an anonymous donor. Where I am living, it cost $16,500 for DE...IVF cost almost $20,000.

My cardiologist said the studies show that it could help me in the long run staying on effient passed the 12 months. If I can afford the cost he recommends it. I need corrective surgery when I can stop the effient. (its not an emergency yet) I went through the cardiac rehab and was looking forward to getting off some of the meds.

The lowest added cost estimates I got for the Symfony IOL was about $1800-1900 in my area, for a Tecnis Toric monofocal IOL (which is what I ended up choosing) the added cost was $1333 in comparison. Those are costs in addition to the standard cataract surgery costs after insurance. The added cost included the extra surgeon fees as well as the IOL cost itself, in my case for the toric IOL is was split about $600 for the IOL and about $700 for the extra surgeon fees.

I have been taking Plavix 75 MG daily. A recent plavix test showed it was not helping. Now my PA has me on 150 MG Plavix. I really bleed when scratched now. Should I take the Plavix test again to see if the increased dossage is working? I am also taking 325 mg asprin.

Did your doctor determine that you risk was so high that he wanted you on Plavix long term, these are the only circumstances that using Plavix long term would be.

My heart Dr will not let me go off the plavix and my surgeon will not do the surgery while on plavix. What happens in a situation like this?. I am between a rock and a hard place. If neither Dr gives in what do I do? If I have an attack and end up in the ER wouldn't they have to do emergency sugery?. Does this mean that anyone on plavix can never have surgery unless it's an ermergency. What is your opinion on going off plavix temporarily for surgery. I would welcome anyones advice.

I had an MI in '05, and had a RCA stent placed. I was on plavix apox. 4 yrs because of family hx and my paranoia of another MI. I recently have been experiencing tingling and numbness in my hands upon awaking and have noticed small spider veins appearing on my thighs. I am a nurse on a MedSurg unit. I am concerned that my stent is becoming occulded. My doctor took me off plavix Jan'10 and kept me on 325 Aspirin.

My cardiologist would not let my dentist allow me to stop taking Plavix for even 5 days to alleviate my pain due to a cavity .The dentist is bent upon my discontinuing Plavix to enable filling of the cavity or do root canal to solve the problem.

I HAVE 3STENTS AND i can't come off Plavix.. I had a colonoscopy this morning for diagnostic reasons and I am full of polops,but they couldnt take any out while I am on Plavix...Last time I went off plavix for 2 days I had my 2nd heartattack so I CAN NOT GO OFF OF IT..I hac surgery to remove a salivary gland and had to stay overnight for obsevation and everything turned out all right.. Is there anyway to remove these polops while on Plavix ?

My Cardio wants me on the plavix indefintely, so will not give me the ok to stop the plavix for 10 days and the Surgeon will not do the procedure with me on the plavix. I'm in a no win situation. My symptoms are not that severe yet, Does anyone have any suggestions or advice. Should I try another Cardio for a 2nd opinion or is there someone that I can complain to so these dr's will get together to corrdinate something.

Structual collapse of a stent would indicate an improper size or defect. I discontinued plavix after year, and I have never heard of plavix associated with a collapsed stent! There may be a misunderstanding.
