plavix and fish oil interaction

im looking for other things to do to improve my heart health, like going to gym, eliminating salt intake and dietry changes and im just concerned with safety and drug interactions.will taking fish oil, flaxseed, and making parsley herbal tea be safe or should they be avoided?. i also have been using coconut oil in my coffee with agave and in my smoothies ive read so many differant articles stating all the benefits of using coconut oil,fish oil, flaxseed, parssley tea. can i benefit from them?

I have a problem with thin skin that will tear easily, my cholesterol is under control and he suggests I simply eat salmon at least once a week, easy to to where I live. Both Plavix and fish oil have been withdrawn. I try and eat salmon I catch or wild, troll-caught salmon, and avoid farm-raised salmon.

I've followed this research, and from what I've learned the drug interaction of Plavix and PPI's (proton pump inhibitors) is not not that strong. I doubted the report from the start as I took Plavix and PPI's and my blood was as thin as tea, I bruised very, very easily, and the blood tests to determine my clotting factor wasn't changed by taking the two drugs.

My doctor told me to continue the fish oil and retest in 3 months. Have you guys heard fo Flaxseed oil pills? Someone told me to try taken that instead of the fish oil and see if it helps.. What are your thoughts?

I am on plavix also and was taking nexium for gerd. My cardiologist told me to go off the nexium because the FDA has found that the nexium or any of the PPI's inhibits the plavix from working properly. I am now on pepcid instead of nexium. I am curious to find out if your cardio's had mentioned this to you. Protonix is in the same group of PPI's as nexium. Google plavix and ppi's or go on the FDA website. You will read a lot about the two meds. Just for your info.

Cod liver oil isn't the best fish oil for inflammation or for omega 3 oils. It comes in gel caps, which you don't taste at all. Nordic Naturals is a very good brand for omega 3 rich fish oil.

I have heard that there is some problem mixing vitamin K with a blood thinner. I am taking 75 mg of plavix and cannot find anything about the vitamin K interaction. I need additional calcium, and the brand I am looking at taking would give me 40mcg of vitamin K. Is this safe or a problem? Where can I find how much vitamin K is in a serving of broccoli or spinich?

Maybe diabetes. I have heard of this as a symptom of it.

Hi I am 38 year old female that on March 14th I woke up that morning with a headache, took 2 ibuprofen and didn't really think anything of it. While cooking dinner I began to see things thru both eyes that I have never seen before this lasted a few minutes. They were like half circles in zig zag shape to the left side of both eyes that also were electrifying looking as if to say like electricity. My left arm and hand began to feel funny almost jelly like and weak.

Just to complicate the Plavix/generic Plavix issue, I was told to stop taking Plavix after bypass surgery, and the bruising immediately became a bigger issue and remains a bigger problem today. I'm not sure the bruising/bleeding issue is completely understood. I still take 80mg aspirin, and wonder if that is the cause. pippi331, sometimes one is allergic to the filler with generic drugs.
