405614 tn?1329144114 I was trying to take pictures, my roommate was kicking old food off the edge of the pier, and a bird flew over and pooped on my left shoulder! I had to go into the bathroom, take off my shirt, and try to wash it off; big poop! Do any of you remember that a bird pooped on my face while I was sunbathing on Maui? I was told that it's good luck, so today I'll buy a Powerball ticket; two poopings on two trips should give me some luck, eh? Or do we just count the new appt.
Avatar n tn m 25 now, and went to a concert this year without sunblock (how smart of me), and my face got a little sunburned. The little bit of redness on my face caused my whole face to swell up to the point where I almost couldn't see out of my eyes. It took a little over a week for all the swelling to go down. Any ideas what this could be?
179856 tn?1333547362 But this year our sun has come back to life, with spectacular outbursts of magnetism and light that arc into loops many times the size of the earth. And the SDO has shown us these prominences with a new and startling level of detail: (picture) The SDO has sophisticated instruments and high-resolution spectrometers that were developed to give us a greater understanding of the sun-earth environment, or space weather, which can affect our lives more than many would suspect.
611067 tn?1458591483 Ruthless pragmatists about ideas, and insatiably curious, Architects are driven to find the most efficient means to their ends, and they will learn in any manner and degree they can. They will listen to amateurs if their ideas are useful, and will ignore the experts if theirs are not. Authority derived from office, credential, or celebrity does not impress them.
Avatar f tn I fell at the pier last night but only onto my hands and knees..baby hasnt moved since then and stomach has hurt since then also..should I be worried or give it more time?
148588 tn?1465778809 Contrary to popular belief, the process of manufacturing solar panels can and does create enormous amounts of harmful and toxic waste. Because the most of the solar panels consumed in the west are manufactured in China, the nature and extent of this pollution is hidden from the consumers of solar panels. We get the illusion of 'green, clean energy' on our shores, by exporting environmental ruin to the countries where the panels are manufactured.
612876 tn?1355514495 Sometimes I just so wish I could air condition the entire outdoor world to my liking! That would be great! Then I could actually go outside whenever I wanted! The air conditioned mattress is actually kind of... "Cool"... I'm not sure how comfortable it the apparatus itself would be, but the idea seems neat. I liked the link with lots of personal cooling gadgets. That was an awesome link! Thank you so much for sharing!
148588 tn?1465778809 As The Los Angeles Times reported recently, the Kochs and ALEC have made similar efforts in other states, though they were beaten back by solar advocates in Kansas and the surtax was reduced to $5 a month in Arizona. But the Big Carbon advocates aren’t giving up. The same group is trying to repeal or freeze Ohio’s requirement that 12.5 percent of the state’s electric power come from renewable sources like solar and wind by 2025.
2209104 tn?1358369645 i would love to be back home in SD and go grab some food and eat it then walk on the beach or pier. i'd kill for that.
405614 tn?1329144114 I agree with Ess - if you are a fan or even not a fan but interested in Salvador Dali and his work, don't miss the Dali museum in St Pete, out by the pier. I know you are an animal lover so here is my list of suggestions at that end of the state - Since the heat can be a factor, if you can visit either coast at night do so. Find a local pier, St Pete's is great, and go out and watch the night time fishing and enjoy the sounds of the ocean in the dark. It is totally different.
Avatar f tn Mrsgreeneyes27,solar panels are a really great investment. When my hubby and I get our next house we want solar panels. Right now we have a townhouse so we can't get them but with all my Hubby's computer stuff running the house gets warm.
Avatar f tn Last year I believe I developed a sun allergy, after prolonged exposure to the sun I would get itchy red bumps in the evening and the next day they would be gone. As of this year I have been in the sun and have experience nothing. I was wonder if I spent some time in a tanning bed would I break out in the red bumps like the sun exposure? Not that I am interested in tanning I am just curious if it would have the same effect as the sun on my skin? thanks!

Avatar n tn Within a week, the blotchiness areas will come about the 2nd or 3rd day of being in the sun and will remain a few days after the week is over. I usually put regular lotion on the areas to moisturize them so they wont itch so much, this helps some. I've also learned of something called Tinea Versicolor and have seen pictures and my case looks very similar to that.
163305 tn?1333668571 And I meant that in the nicest possible way;-) It's supposed to be gorgeous here in Houston. Teko... you should come here and watch it with me. I'll even make up my spare room for you to stay in and I'll put you up for the night. We can drive down to Galveston and sit on the beach and watch it together, all the while, arguing politics and at each other's throats. Doesn't that sound like fun?!?
163305 tn?1333668571 Setting up a myriad of solar-panels in the middle of the desert and trying to harness the power of the sun to power cities? Horse pucky, I say.
206807 tn?1331936184 Solar industry advocates said the failure of these three companies is not indicative of the health of the U.S. solar industry as a whole and that overall the Energy Department's loan guarantee program has been a success. "In the last 18 months, solar companies have either added or expanded almost 60 factories in the U.S. and driven the installed cost of solar down by 30 percent," said Rhone Resch, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association.
Avatar f tn I had a crystal lens HD put in one of my eyes yesterday due to a significant cataract. Tonight is my first night with th news lens and the halos are horrible. Driving around I thought I was at an amusement park pier. Do the halos lessen over time or will it always be like this?
Avatar m tn Hi Fedup, I am sorry to hear about your on-going undiagnosed pain. We know how very frustrating that can be. My heart goes out to you. In layman's terms the the solar plexus is located in the area just below the chest and above the stomach. Is that where your pain is located? It may be time to consult a new PCP.....someone that is not associated with your current one. However I might give your physician one more chance. Impress upon him how you are feeling....
Avatar n tn I've had angioedema around the vermillion border of my lips for approximately 4 months now. I feel fine otherwise and my CBC, HIV and C1Q tests came back normal/healthy. I've also been treated with antibiotics, antihistimines and prednisone and it hasn't helped the swelling at all. At this point, my doctor suspects that I might have a solar allergy and he and prescribed me Plaquenil (200mg BID). I've been taking it for 5 days now and so far there have been no results.
Avatar m tn This has become a source of great anxiety and I am extremely concerned about my vision. If it is not solar retinopathy, what else could it be? Perhaps optic neuritis? Thank you for your time and consideration!
