eczema

Near the skin folds the bumps/dots are closer together, while they are farther apart in other areas (it reminds me of larger razor burn bumps). It started about a month ago and was persistent around his groin area, thighs (inner, outer, front and back), lower abdomen and lower buttocks. He also found 3 larger red spots on his penis that did not itch as much and have since scabbed over. At first I thought it was jock itch, but it was unresponsive to creams.

So scabies wouldn't cause itching in the general groin area only? I was looking at some pictures of scabies cases and noticed the nodules associated with scabies looked similar to the ones I have. Also the rash I have had resembles pimples or bug bites.
Hello, From the symptoms and pictures it sounds like contact dermatitis or eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
I developed intense itchiness on the left side of my groin. The first time it appeared was four months ago. It went away for a while then came back early this month. The intense itchiness in the groin continued and now it's on both sides of my groin. Initially it started as a raised wrinkled bump. It is the same color as the skin around it. There are no blisters or open sores. The area becomes inflamed and thick when scratched. In addition I get inner thigh muscle soreness and pain at times.
You probably saw the pictures and they're where the thigh meets the groin. In the pubic hair area, I have a few too, and below the scrotum. I also have a few bumps around the anus. They itch pretty bad sometimes, but most of the time, I don't even realize they're there. But the responses here seem to indicate that it appears to be non serious and fungal since no other options were given...
Also, there has been an off-and-on aching in the left side of my penis, for the past couple of days, and the slight off-and-on burning to the right is still present. There is, thankfully, no discoloration or sensitivity to the touch, let alone blisters. Still, I thought it was worth mentioning. Happy new year, by the way!
Tinea cruris means fungus of the folds of skin in the groin, so it's hard for me to believe that your dermatologist agrees that red spots on your legs represents that. Red spots that don't respond to repeated treatments for fungus mean that these spots aren't fungal. Burning them with blech is a sure way to make sure the marks never fade at all. My best guess is that you have some form of eczema.
It happens about twice a year and I keep getting a rash around the inner parts of my knee's or the folds of my knee's, inner thigh's, and folds of my arm's. It's very painful and last for about two weeks not only that it gets worse if I sweat and nothing seems to cure it. It is a deep red and in a circular motion plus it starts out very small and then get's bigger with the itch getting unbearable.

Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be erythrasma or eczema. Erythrasma is a chronic superficial infection of the intertriginous areas of the skin.It is true that groins are effected but the typical appearance is well-demarcated, brown-red macular patches. The skin has a wrinkled appearance with fine scales. The standard therapy of erythrasma is antibiotics and antifungals because it is caused by a bacteria C minutissimum.Erythromycin is the drug of choice.
The flare up lasted a week or two, and other than that, I don't recall any other symptoms of feeling run down or fatigued. The spot didn't look anything like the pictures one sees of herpes blisters. Since I suffer from eczema and thought perhaps the eczema had found a new place to torture me, I used Elidel in the area and that brought relief from the itching and got the whole area feeling and looking better.
Eventually the skin in the red dot starts to clear from the inside to the outside, but the dot sometimes gets larger in size until it disappears. I'd take pictures but I'm currently at work. When the start getting larger, the skin on it peels little by little. I'm not sure how else to describe it. I was given some prescription strength cream to fight the dermatitis but I can't remember the name right now. It helped for the side with the dots but not so much the left side with the eczema.
Intertrigo can also cause rash in the groin folds, and erythrasma is a bacterial infection that may mimic tinea cruris. Both of these conditions can be misdiagnosed, especially by laypersons, as jock itch, but they require very different treatments. Using antifungals to get rid of jock itch that is really erythrasma is a huge mistake, since it can exacerbate the problem.
I've had flare-ups with this form of eczema in this manner you described. It can get a whole lot worse than the pictures on the website I discovered. I know from experience, and from doing a Google image search. Here is the website: http://www.eczemaguide.com/eczema_basics/eczema_like/subtypes_of_hand_dermatitis.html Stress will definitely make it worse. And, this website confirms that stress will aggravate this autoimmune skin illness.
they have a central red dot surrounded by hyperpigmented skin which is extremely disfiguring, as a result, I've not been able to go out without full body covering. And for others, it just becomes a brownish patch (refer to pictures) In addition, I've noticed these small pale papular lesions on my arms which appear spontaneously. I had 3 or 4 of them when I was 14years old and now there are close to 50 on my both arms, forearms and hands.

It's an immune system type problem. And it definitely runs in families. You can start with eczema at any time in your life. I looked up pictures on the internet and they did resemble your rash. But that's not a definite diagnosis. I hope you will give the gluten free diet a try and see if it helps....but you have to be 100% gluten free...one little teeny weeny cheat can ruin your progress. But first try the omega 3's and evening primrose oil to see if that helps.
5 days ago I noticed a burning sensation in my groin...when I got home my Penis and Scrotum where Burning it all turned Reddish/Brown. (I am very fair skinned and the color is EXTREMELY noticable.) Where the skin-tag was near the edge of the scrotum is normal in color and Not red/brown. I applied the 2.5% Hydrocortisone 3 times then stopped. I used "Gold Bond Powder" to help keep the area dry and have stopped for fear that this may have caused the burning and color change.
i am in need of help. something is going on with my penis and every time i go to the doctor he tells me it is eczema. he prescribes me hydrocortizone and tells mei'm fine and its gonna take a while. wtf? i have be told that i have hpv and have had a small out break of warts but that got taken care of. the doctor say that this is unrelated to this rash or something.
For about a week after, it felt really uncomfortable - a little burning, itching, and some sharp pains in my groin. I saw my PMD, who thought it might be fungal and gave me some Lotrisone. I used it for 10 days with mild improvement. So now it's been a month since the first time I noticed something weird. The area looks okay and overall things are better, but it still...hurts kinda'. It feels sore occasionally and a burns a bit(only on the skin).
She now has a rash on her shoulder that looks a little like hives but has a blister in the center of it. She also developed a bad case of dandruff. All of this has gone on just in the last 4 weeks. She has never had any skin issues before. She has an underlying health condition, cystic fibrosis, but has not had any change in medicine. I am worried that there is more going on than just the pityrias rosea and that maybe this is indicating some underlying problem.
I don't know very much about herpes but I get a bump like you are talking about periodically and I think it is irritation from shaving or an ingrown hair. The pictures of genital herpes I have seen before were a group of little bumps instead of one.
The next day, he tells me that he noticed a swollen lymph node in his groin and this began to concern me. I looked down there with a mirror to examine myself. I noticed a wound on my lower labia, it isn't painful or itchy and it does not bleed, and I also noticed that there are tiny cuts by my vaginal opening. I have accepted the fact that it could be herpes. But could it possibly be a sore from continuous, daily rough sex? He was pretty rough & I was pretty dry.
These spots are not blisters, and they do not look anything like scabies. Possibilities include hives, fungus, or eczema (though these spots aren't typical of any of these.) Recommendation: Get some clotrimazole 1% cream (over-the-counter) and apply it twice a day. Make an appointment for a doctor to see it. Best. Dr.
It is more likely to occur in men , and is usually the result of exposure to and growth of the fungus Trichophyton rubrum. It may occur with more frequency if a person has excessive sweating in the groin region and does not wear moisture wicking clothing. Standard treatment to get rid of jock itch is to apply cream, ointment or powder containing an antifungal agent, like miconazole or clotrimazole.
The next time it occurs, apply some calamine lotion on the affected area and keep the area well moisturized. Use only thin applications of moisturizer ointments as excessive amounts of ointment may restrict breathing of the skin and aggravate the condition. Topical steroids can be applied but they are available under prescription. Moreover to prevent infection, topical antibiotics may be needed. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Doesn't itch, get scaly or dry and doesn't fit any definition of eczema or psoriasis? No prescription does anything to relieve the discomfort and it gets cold when it burns? A condition that tortures you every waking second and no doctor cares? I have the same thing. Maybe we need to march on Washington.
It looks like a case of food allergy and the rash on penis can be due to eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and also apply steroid cream on the rash.
Kindly please tell me is it Hives??? Though the pictures that I’ve seen of people suffering from hives are in very bad condition, but mine is not that worse these are just small Red Spots.
