572651 tn?1530999357 The MS Foundation has their second teleconference on the schedule for next week - these are a great way to access experts in MS and learn more. Avatar n tn The person is a year and a half through physical therapy and recovery, 150 mg of Lyrica per day, co q10, and a muscle relaxer 2 mg at night. The person is experiencing extreme muscle spasms from waist down, which sometimes respond to Tylenol, 1000mg. The person is able to walk with a device, however, sitting afterwards creates stiffness and inability to continue walking. Is flexibility possible?
Avatar f tn have gone to physical therapy and have regained all my flexibility and have no acute pain anymore. My frustration is still not being able to run. I get almost immediate hamstring area tightness and have burning sensation and discomfort in my ankle/foot area also. the physical therapist thinks it is a compensatory reaction because I am flexing my foot too much to try and bring that weaker leg thru when running.
627816 tn?1349238116 Thanks for the info. I am sure alot of people, like me, read but don't post comments. But it is extremely relevant to what I am thinking about at the moment and it gives me ammunition when everyone around me seems to be saying that inclusion is the best way. I am not against inclusion, and my son is included. But there is no proof that being mainstreamed will in some way 'rub off' on our children.
Avatar m tn I am basically posting to see if what I am saying is true, do you indeed need a diet plan tailored to you and an exercise program tailored to your specific needs? Thanks in advance.
4943237 tn?1428991095 Consider how much of the lesion could be transferred to paper or if available accessible to students electronically instead, it may require more lesson planning and organisation but it can dramatically cut down on what you need to do during the lesson. Again conserving physical and mental energy whilst allowing you to focus on the more pertinent sections of the lesson and it would also give you a cheat sheet if your having a cog fog day.
Avatar f tn Exercise often, and follow a varied plan that includes strength training. Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong.
Avatar f tn This can be called an IEP if a child has an academic issue (individual education plan). That plan would have things in it that are specific to help that child overcome their challenges in the classroom. If a child doesn't have any academic issues but has behavioral issues, a 504 plan can be put in place to help with that. My son has sensory integration disorder.
Avatar f tn If you are still in high school, I would recommend looking into being home schooled so that you can graduate on time and get your education. You can also look into going to college online and get a degree that way. That would be easier for you and give you much more flexibility than a regular campus college. These are all things you need to think about now and work on soon. Are you taking prenatal vitamins yet? If you are not, then start doing that asap.
Avatar n tn I have a bulging L5 - S1 that has been causing problems for just over a year now. I've had 4 epidurals, and have been taking pain pills daily. About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).
333672 tn?1273792789 I had an evaluation for physical therapy on Monday and my first session today. I am having increasing trouble with walking and, although I don't know if this is going to help, I think it's worth a shot. So far I have found out a number of interesting things. My flexibility is okay for my age (although it seems worse to me than it used to be), but I have weakness in my hip flexors and in my ankle muscles.
572651 tn?1530999357 And he was exceptionally positive about people being able to recover lost function, when doing the correct approach to physical therapy, including getting people in wheelchairs back up and moving. He had lots of great ideas on ways we can improve our mobility. here are the details again -from the MS Foundation, Ft.
Avatar n tn Hey thanks for sharing that with me--that is a good idea maybe I should visit a physical therapist. I was wondering what did the physical therapist do to help restore mobility in your shoulder? Thanks a lot!
1174407 tn?1263573399 For example, my son has a IEP done for his education plan because of his physical and intellectual disabilities. He also has been diagnosed with ADD. This IEP consists of a modified plan suited for your child's needs. When my son's IEP was done, there were many people involved in this meeting.
Avatar f tn I had my right foot done in December 2010 and 17 weeks later I completed the left foot. My right foot is progressing along wonderful. Physical therapy has helped and allowed me to regain control and flexibility. My left foot in the last 2 weeks is showing signs of reverting back to a bent position. My big toe is shifting towards my second toe. My doctor has given me a night splint to keep the toe straight and I see him at the end of the month.
Avatar f tn I really hope at least we can teach people over here not to get freaked out and stop their education....or at least medical health care.....I've seen it for real and I was so ashamed to ask for that test ( healthy people wanting to check their stomach and liver trouble were there and my voice was low.....I also wanted to leave and come back when the nurse if free to take me...). They all look so..but so strange.
Avatar f tn How are you doing with all this information?
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
6794082 tn?1384952416 The improved motion, flexibility, and overall well-being they notice after the adjustments motivates them to continue receiving care on an elective basis. Ultimately, the answer to your question depends on why you're receiving the care you're receiving. If you are not noticing improvements of any kind (symptomatic or otherwise), and feel that visiting your chiropractor is no longer beneficial, then feel free to stop going at anytime.
