That comment of looking for another type of thyroid medication just went through me like a knife. Its apparent that this person has little knowledge of how tough it is hormonally for thypatients to find a good med that works well for them.

Avatar f tn During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.

Avatar m tn anyone had an allergy involving bread ? i don't know if you did some critical thinking of your own. but in my case, before this incident, i had eaten different bread but i had consistently checked the ingredients to weed out questionable ingredients like unspecified sugar and other baddies that might be gmo. and i haven't had problem till this time. from my casual research, it seemed dupont might've been selling it. and seemed dextrose could be gmo corn. holy sheet!

Avatar n tn Thank you for your question, you are relatively fine with Phenytoin and the seizure episodes in a form of lack of speech are the residue of a generalized type seizure. I don’t have a full description of your consciousness during the lack of speech episodes to decide whether this start is a partial epilepsy which can continue in a generalized or it is a generalized one from the first moment..

Avatar m tn s constantly take deep breath because his lungs feels stiff and needs to lay down about 10x a day. His volume is good and he can actually do some light running so I know he's getting sufficient amount of oxygen. The stiffness in the middle of his chest on the left side (where the lung collapsed) makes him feel he's not getting a refreshing breath of air. What's causing this and is there anything that can be done for him?
Avatar f tn Just finished the dextrose (I think that is what we are drinking) for the glucose test......orange flavor.....it is not as bad as everyone describes it on these boards. It tastes like a cheap juice from a gas station or corner store.

However, I noticed that his breathing is shallow and his abdominal muscles kept on contracting. He again lost his appetite but he never vomitted. Avatar f tn If you are pregnant your doctor may gradually decrease the dose and stop it and may prescribe an alternative anti seizure medicine which is safe during pregnancy. Sudden withdrawal of antiseizure medication may precipitate seizures in a pregnant woman which can be dangerous for the fetus. Medicines are prescribed during pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh the risks. Your doctor may prescribe you high dose folic acid 4 mg to prevent spinal cord deformities. In 2005 had MI with occlusion of the LAD artery and had drug stent inserted and I am still on plavix. My doc has debated when to take me off the Plavix safely....what are the recent studies about this dilemma? thanks so much!
Avatar m tn Subsequent to discharge on 10 July, she was put on phenytoin 200 mg od. She broke out with fever again on 15 July and the fever lasted for about 4 days with daily temperature peaking in the afternoon (max 101 F). The face and body were covered with rash similar to measles which resolved by 20 July. Could she have had measles at her age? Why did she have convulsions? Could anyone throw any light on the episode.

Google search turned up nothing on its ingredients. Other sweeteners found in foods [read nutrition label] but considered borderline safe and unsafe for diabetic consumption.

Avatar f tn A few weeks ago I woke up with yellow crust on the corner of my lips and it went away in 2 days, and today I woke up and it's in the exact same spot again except a little more then before. It doesn't hurt or itch, it feels like my lips are very very dry. I don't smoke, I have grandmal seizures and my medication is phenytoin and kepra but I didn't read anywhere that would be a side effect so I'm worried this could be a STD or something.
