phentermine

Avatar n tn I have been taking Phentermine 37.5 and synthroid .088 for about 4 months now. I just found out a few days ago I am pregnant. I figured I should stop taking the Phentermine but I didn't know if it would have any effects on the baby already. Also I did not know if I can continue to take the synthroid?
Avatar f tn I started taking Phentermine 30 mg daily on Feb 4, 2009. To date I have not lost a pound. Infact I gained a 2 lbs. I have increased my exercise on my Elliptical (30-60min/day) and started to eat healthier. How long does it take for phentermine to kick in? Any advice? Anything I should say to my physcian?
Avatar f tn I developed hypothyroidism 7 years ago after having been treated for cancer I can't seem to loose my baby weight gain after having my son 15 months ago.... I want to start taking diet pill Phentermine (30 mg) 1x a day but I'm also going to be taking synthroid 100 mg 1x day is that safe?
Avatar f tn My doctors suggest that I take Phentermine but im taking levothyroxine 88mg and Cytomel 5mg due to thyroidectomy 3 years ago and I have gain weight due to hypothyroidism. Have anyone tried the phentermine while on levothyroxine and Cytomel?
Avatar n tn yes, I was taking levothyroxine and had the same issues. I switched to dessicated thyroid (thyroid NP or Armour) and have not had the problem since. Google them and you will find a lot of info or check out *************************....good luck!
927140 tn?1244210051 I think all of you should understand the difference between weight gain or loss from thyroid meds and the difference in how phentermine works before giving any information...most thyroid meds DO NOT HELP WITH WEIGHT LOSS...IF IT DID..THERE WOULD BE NO NEED FOR THE LATTER....THYROID MEDS ARE NOT FOR WEIGHT LOSS....AND IF YOU THINK IT IS...DO YOUR RESEARCH WITH A QUALIFIED DOCTOR!!! NOT JUST A PILL PUSHER....IT WONT HAPPEN!!!!
737114 tn?1232035410 I have been taking phentermine on and off for almost 15 years, I have never needed it for weight loss only the amazing energy it gave me, I know it is a little late to decide they probably are doing my health no good at all but hey, better late than never. I have tried hundreds of times to stop taking them but the chronic fatigue I get keeps me going back.
20813548 tn?1519654796 I am within my first week of taking phentermine. Will the cheat tightening and sleeplessness ease up in the next week or two? I am on the lowest dose, 15mg.
Avatar f tn d probably be better off in terms of your general health if you work an getting your thyroid levels right rather than taking weight loss drugs. (And, you can stay on thyroid hormones long term!) I'll look forward to seeing your labs.
Avatar f tn Weight gain/inability to lose is a common hypothyroid symptom. It's very possible that once you get your thyroid levels in control, you won't need the phentermine. Actually, a healthy diet and adequate exercise should take its place, anyway, since most people who take weight loss drugs, regain the weight as soon as they get off the drugs. Levothyroxine should be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, with a full cup of water.
Avatar f tn Phentermine does not list thyroid meds or thyroid disease as a caution or a contra-indication, so it should be alright. You don't want to take ANY drugs or vitamins or supplements at the same time as you take your Synthroid. Take your Synthroid with a glass of water in the morning. No food or anything for an hour. Coffee is ok, cream or milk is a major no-no. Some meds or supplements should be spaced several hours later. You can look up drug interactions here; https://online.epocrates.
Avatar m tn A doctor prescribed me a combo of Redotex in the morning and 30mg Phentermine HCl at lunch (for weight loss). Is it dangerous? These are the active ingredients of Redotex: o Tri iodothyronine (Triyodotironina) 75 mcg. A hormone used to increase the metabolic rate of tissues. o Norpseudoephedrine (Clorhidrato de D Norseudoefedrina) 50 mg. An amphetamine like drug. o Atropine sulfate (Sulfato de Atropina) 0.36 mg. Used as a respiratory and circulatory stimulant. o Aloin (Aloina) 16.2 mg.
Avatar f tn hi i just started the b12 shot an phentermine pills an i wonder has anyone eles tried this progrma?
Avatar f tn Thyroid function can be diminished, even though blood test results are in the normal ranges. If your results were low in the ranges, you could still have symptoms. Same goes if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune thyroid condition, in which the body destroys the thyroid. With Hashimoto's, it's very common for symptoms to appear before blood tests go out of range. Ask you doctor to test you for thyroid antibodies.
Avatar f tn You shouldn't gain weight on Phentermine takes longer though than didrex and Phentermine the Houston and didrex quickly drop weight off easily fast and is a pleasure not work sadness struggle and difficulty if your husband or boyfriend brings food into the house but you don't want in the house try just throwing into the trash is usually a male involved who is jealous of the female companion and wants to cause the female to keep the weight on or gain the weight and the man will go to any
Avatar n tn Before you take any diet pill you need to consult with your thyroid dr. Most weight loss meds work against your thyroid meds. Would be better to check with them first.
579324 tn?1276054274 wow! 33 pounds in 6 weeks. all i need to lose is 20. i am ready to do it for a month, i just want to get some advice regarding the hyperthyroidism and the phentermine. you see your heart is beating really fast and that is something that i had when i had the hyperactive thyroid.
Avatar f tn I am 54 years old and 223 pounds. I am taking Phentermine(37.5) now for a month and eating about 1400 calories a day as part of a no more than 35 grams of carbs diet. I only eat fresh low carb vegetables and lean meats; no sugar, no sodas, no junk food, no alcohol, no smoking; and walking 1 hour / 3 times a week. I only lost 5 pounds in 30 days. This is very depressing. I am on Thyroid medication for an under-active thyroid and am within range. What else can I do?
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Duromine (slow-release resin of phentermine) 30mg (so not the fast acting 37.5mg Adipex-P a lot are familiar with). I don't know this doctor very well as mine has retired, and he is aware of my medical history obviously, and my struggle with weight loss as well as my attempt to keep my diet as healthy as I can (despite occasionally messing up from time to time due to lethargy, stress from work and genuine hunger...) Can I trust that my blood pressure won't skyrocket??
Avatar m tn I started Phentermine and B-12 in Feb 2012 I lost 4lbs the first two weeks. 6.5 lbs the 2nd two weeks and none the 3rd two weeks. It then took me 3 weeks to lose 3 more lbs. I am scared to weigh myself tomorrow in fear that I haven't lost my goal is 165. I am interested in hearing how others journey has went and if phentermine will continue to work for me for at least 6 mos.
Avatar f tn estrodial patch and 100 mg of progesterone for night sweats. I also have a thyroid issue and take 90 mg daily of dessicated thyroid. I do have one small thyroid nodule. I have gained 30 lbs in the last 4 years. Nothing - and I do mean NOTHING takes the fat off. Calorie restriction. Low carb high fat. Moderate carb/higher protein. Weight loss medication (Phentermine). Exercise is dance class 2-3X a week, and strength training 3x. I have a job where I stand a lot.
Avatar f tn the total calories is probably around 1000 - 1100 calories or so. i also used phentermine from my DR and was taking 2 - 3 mile walks per day. i averaged about 2.5 lbs per week loss. i've lost 40 lbs in 4 months. i had a VERY stressful/anxiety period over the past 5 days which caused me to be an emotional wreck, not sleeping well, heart beating fast at times. i cut my phentermine dose in half and totally went off my diet.
Avatar f tn Did they give you the reference ranges for your FT3, TT4 and TPOab? Ranges vary lab to lab, so they have to come from your own lab report. Do you know the name of the pill they gave you? Was this prescribed by a doctor?
Avatar f tn This is the first time I've been on this site, I am on the thyroid forum and the sleep disorders forum, but I need advice desperately. Because of hormone disfunction and thyroid disfunction I gained a lot of weight. Almost 80 lbs. I have never had to diet or been overweight, and I am having a lot of health problems. I gained this weight rapidly, and now I am having serious health problems, one of which is my discs in my back have crushed (4 of them) and I have to have surgery next week.
