But, I do have 2 friends that mixed alcohol and phentermine and it was NOT a pretty site. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine. It makes you have the ability to drink a lot more than you are used to, and it actually made both of my friends crazy in behavior.

I have been taking Phentermine for 1 month today along with a B12 pill... I have been working out a lot and I eat less. But I have lost NOTHING! I do not drink caffinated drinks as they say the phentermine will release from your body faster, just TONS of water. What can I be doing wrong! I figure I must have a crazy metabolism. It is extremely discouraging to see all the weightloss from others and I stay the same. I see statements where people have to remind themselves to eat...
At first, I thought I would go back after the two months (which would only be like 2 weeks from now) to try to get a refill but due to all of my side effects, I'm not going to. I'm not overweight and I've always had blood pressure that was normal/closer to the low end- 108-110/70-72 with a pulse around 60.
Side effects include diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation, an unpleasant taste, hives, impotence, palpitations, high blood pressure, and fast heart rates. Central nervous system side effects include overstimulation, insomnia, restlessness, tremor, and dizziness. http://www.medicinenet.com/phentermine/article.
I've never touched them again since, but the side effects have still remained. Even if they ARE side-effects.. which is what I'm truly wondering.
As far as side effects go, I've been doing really well on Effexor XR. I know that unusual dreaming a side effect of Effexor, but I have taken it for 5 months now with night after night of constant dreams. I remember every single dream that I have during the night and wake up exhausted and annoyed. Could this really be a side effect even though I've been on it this long? I can't remember if the dreaming started before or after taking Effexor.
I really feel like the Phentermine has been the biggest help for me. I have had little to no side effects. I took it many years ago when the whole Phen-Phen thing was big and was successful. It has really made be recognize how much I ate before and gets rid of my cravings. I think you will have success without Phentermine, but you would have more benefit if you used it. Think about it. Maybe take it for a week or so. The affects are immediate. Whatever you decide..stick with it.
Okay on Saturday 01/12/2008 I got my first B12 Injection, my daily Phentermine pills 37.5 along with a daily multi-vitamin. I weighed in with clothes on at 182.6lbs. I have a goal weight of 135lbs. I am going to use this forum as my crutch to help me through. I will be posting here weekly if anybody would like to become success partners at this I am game. I would love to loose my 47.5lbs by May 20th, 2008 which is my 28th birthday. I am very confident about being able to achieve this goal.
My best friend's sister is on the phentermine, B12 shot, and a restricted diet and lost 40 pounds in under 2 months. So, I decided to do some research and came across many forums. This one in particular seems really informative. I found a place in Greensboro, NC called The Bariatric Clinic. They charge $120 to start the plan, then it is $60 a month thereafter. They give you a shot your first visit then you have to pick up the perscription a couple days later.
and does anyone know if I can take these shots along with HCG shots? or would this be overkill? Are there any side effects from taking any one of the above injections? I would appreciate any help I can get. I've spent so much money on products that didn't work and it's quite frustrating to take drugs that have uncomfortable side effects and you don't see any results after suffering through them. Help.....
Any way I have come accross this website on foods to eat and avoid with Thyroid problems. Dairy, Alcohol, Wheet, Caffine and Sugar is a major part to stay away from (sad hey?) also fluoride and chlorine found in water and tooth paste. Great salt to get onto is himalayan salt, it is full of nutrients which are great for our Thyroid. Hope this helps. All the best. It is a horrible disease. PS hope my grammer is ok, I also struggle with writting.
I have had an EKG to monitor heart activity and it read normal. Should these side-effects be a cause for concern besides from being discomforting? Thanks.
Victoza may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome: Constipation; decreased appetite; diarrhea; dizziness; headache; nausea; pain, swelling, or redness at the injection site; sinus inflammation; sore throat; upset stomach; vomiting.
Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine. Phentermine may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Keep track of how many pills have been used from each new bottle of this medicine. Phentermine is a drug of abuse and you should be aware if any person in the household is using this medicine improperly or without a prescription.
You lose weight from walking and baby gets fresh air. I do not recommend weight loss medication due to the medical side effects. Wish you the best.
plus all three of my doctors (Endocrine, Cardio, and Primary Care) gave a thumbs up to my health regimen (and just recently added the Myoden injection to help with the Potassium and Sodium processing in my body) because there are no adverse side effects. Since I have severe Thyroid antibody problems, I have a lot of adverse reactions to many meds and OTC products... so my choices had to be ones that would react well with my system and were safe.
Hi.. Pocha. I am the same way with phentermine. I take the same. They are not as strong as they used to be. I took them 3-4 yrs ago and had crazy energy and no appetite! I too get irritated and just a "blah" feeling. I hope it gets better... I also do the HCG shots.
Many years and millions of research dollars later, our only remaining pharmaceutical arm in the fight against obesity is orlistat (Xenical), with the convenient side effects of bloating, stomach upset, and the need to have a public restroom app on your iPhone in case of emergencies. So what’s a health care system to do? On one hand, you might argue that Big Pharma has failed us in the obesity space. So should they throw in the towel?
) Do you have any side effects from the shots? dizziness, nausea, headache, etc...? ***For me, I've had no side affects. D.) Are they fairly safe (especially if you're getting a B12 shot AND taking Phentermine?) ***My doctor gave me a B12 shot when I started and I will get another one next week. You probably want to consult your doctor. Hope this helps!
Yes it is probably bad for you and there are a few side effects like, nervousness(which eventually goes away) and dry mouth and dry eyes. But hey... if you don't care about the risk factors and you want to lose weight. I recommend it. I lost weight with it. Just don't go back to eating bad when you are done taking the pills or it will all come back.
Adipex (Phentermine) is a sympathomimetic medication that is only approved by the FDA, for SHORT-TERM treatment of obesity. It may have side effects such as hypertension, palpitations, arrhythmias, psychosis, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiac valvular disease. Adipex would be a highly unusual form of treament for dysthymia, ADHD, or Body dysmorphic disorder; it is not approved by the FDA for treatment of any of these three conditions.
Also tell them if you smoke, drink alcohol, or use illegal drugs. Some items may interact with your medicine. What side effects may I notice from receiving this medicine?
My dodtor is going to give the B-12 shot along with phentermine...I beleive. It is aloso based on a low sugar and low fat diet plan. How about you? They told me on the phone the average weight loss will be around 2 to 3 pounds weekly...But everyone is different. I sure hope this works for me...I have been stuck here for almost a year now. I lost 30 last year and now it has just came to a hault.
As much as I want to lose weight, the list of side effects for Topomax scares me. My current med, Effexor/Lithium has side effects such as weight gain, constipation, tremor, etc. While I hate being fat, blurry vision ans brain fog don't appeal to me either. Of course there are also the risks of diabetes and heart disease from being overweight too. I'm having a very hard time deciding about this. Any advice is welcome.
I was really excited about talking to my dr about welbutrin because I thought it was an anti depressant along with all these great side effects (weight loss, increased sex drive). Of course I would love increased sex drive and weight loss but I really want to not feel so depressed.
I went from 50 to 75mg, 5 weeks later and 75 to 100mg 4 weeks later, working up slowly does help with the side effects. Over time I have found most of my side effects subside: I take it for nerve pain and complex migraines. I did experience weight loss but not loss so far, but I do take daily vitamin and extra supplements plus making sure I drink Ensure and a V-8 everyday to keep myself health. I didn’t need to lose any weight.
I take Lipo which is mixed with b12 and I nolonger take phentermine because I didn't need it and I go so constipated with it. Calorie intake is 800-1200 a day. With the phentermine I was lucky to get 300 a day. But I back on track and have lost 17lbs in almost 4weeks and 18lbs my own it took 5months. So I hope to get more good results but may be you should start with a doctor just to be safe.
The hair loss, the confussion, the tingling, the weight loss (for me this is not a good thing, I am thin to begin with) But I would rather deal with any of these side effects then deal with a minute of what of was prescribed Topamax for....MIGRAINES!!!! Horrible, Painful, Migraines, a pain so bad that it makes one want to curl up and die.
I took Phentermine and B-12 injections with my doctor. I would go once every three weeks. The week I got the injection I would lose more weight (about 4 pounds) and 1 pound the other two weeks. Keeping consistent with my diet and exercise. So while I did not experience extra energy as I believe a lot of folks are looking for with the B-12 shots, it did increase my metabolism and increased my weight loss. So while the experts feel you should only take for deficiencies, I've seen results.
