Thats not what taper off means. If you stop some meds quickly, you can suffer side effects. Google the phentermine to see what I mean. Point is - don't know if you have one, two, or three docs - but they need to know what you are taking. And its possible the Adderall could help you lose the weight. I think in some ways its safer then the phentermine. But, the two maybe should not be taken together.

I have been taking Phentermine for 2 and a 1/2 months now. I started taking it in April almost on the same day as my period started. Almost one week after my period stopped another one began. So I made a dr appointment. I have taken Phentermine several times in the past and I was told by my DR. to AVOID drinking alcohol while taking phentermine. Phentermine is a stimulant that is similar to an amphetamine. It is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system. It worked great for me loosing weight. But, I do have 2 friends that mixed alcohol and phentermine and it was NOT a pretty site. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine.

You make a great point that weight loss medication like phentermine is not a long term weight loss solution. If you do go back to old habits, you might expect to gain back the weight that you lost. I really stop taking medication, if I track from the first day of my life. I would be 5 1/2 weeks. I am most concerned that it may already affected the babu or may cause a miscarriage or birth defects. Does anyone have experience with us? Or no? Is there anyway the doctor could tell if the baby is OK?

I can't comment on the thyroid concerning med's at all. I do know that you should be questioning the phentermine though. I take BP med's for my blood pressure and went on phentermine ~1 1/2 years ago to loose weight as a last choice thing. I took 1/2 doses due to the incline in my BP and was having chest pains. I did loose 51 pounds in 6 months in which was great, plus full of energy while on it. Though in the last year it has all came back, plus now my energy level has sunk.

have you tried working with changing up the dosing as in smaller dosing more often, eating with it, only at night - or changing time of day... Next time you are in the office, always get a copy on the way out. When you go the lab, ask for a copy when you hand in the paperwork. Ask for MRI reports at the MRI place. Get a copy of the MRI on CD as well.
