I have Hypothyroidism and have been trying to lose 10lbs for the past couple of years, I spoke to a pharmacist and she suggested I ask my doctor for Phentermine.
Has anyone tried this before and is it safe with taking Amour Thyroid 180mg. I'm 5'8" and weigh 152 and want to be 143, I work out 6x's a week cardio for 45-60 mins. and every other day 30 mins weight lifting.
I have been taking Phentermine 37.5 and synthroid .088 for about 4 months now. I just found out a few days ago I am pregnant. I figured I should stop taking the Phentermine but I didn't know if it would have any effects on the baby already. Also I did not know if I can continue to take the synthroid?
I have regularly been checked for thyroid and diabetes. I do take medication for bipolar disorder and manic depression. Neither of these drugs are supposed to cause weight gain either. Phentermine is a stimulant/appetite suppressant. I am going to try liposage slim wrap this week and see if that helps.
Is it OK to use phentermine and levothyroxine together? If not what diet medications are safe to use with levothyroxine? I suffer with such low energy, even though my levels are good.
There are no listed interactions with Phentermine and Synthroid however i would check with a pharmacist if you do not want to talk to your doctor.
Yes, I have been tested for both high and low thyroid, and all were within normal levels. (2 doctors checked) I do not have diabetes and I too feel like the calorie (or lack of) is an issue but I just expected something to work by now. I just am at a loss. She renewed my RX for phentermine... the last one supposedly as it can only be given for 3 months. Some people said tonight I looked like I had lost but the clothes and the scale do not say the same.
A doctor prescribed me a combo of Redotex in the morning and 30mg Phentermine HCl at lunch (for weight loss). Is it dangerous?
These are the active ingredients of Redotex:
o Tri iodothyronine (Triyodotironina) 75 mcg. A hormone used to increase the metabolic rate of tissues.
o Norpseudoephedrine (Clorhidrato de D Norseudoefedrina) 50 mg. An amphetamine like drug.
o Atropine sulfate (Sulfato de Atropina) 0.36 mg. Used as a respiratory and circulatory stimulant.
o Aloin (Aloina) 16.2 mg.
I had my thyroid removed years ago. I only had one side that develop and a goiter formed and it was removed. Tonight I had to go to the hospital due to rapid heart beat, when I got there my blood pressure was high 200/180 and my heart rate was 210. I told them that the doctor put me on a diet medication and I had lost 33 pounds in a month. They tried to get blood from me and they could not get any it took ten tries. Teat was ran and they said my thyriod was to high my dose is 0.
My doctors suggest that I take Phentermine but im taking levothyroxine 88mg and Cytomel 5mg due to thyroidectomy 3 years ago and I have gain weight due to hypothyroidism. Have anyone tried the phentermine while on levothyroxine and Cytomel?
One of my kids has taken phentermine and it did help a little. However she has just this week learned she has hypothyroidism and that may be another reason her metabolism is sluggish. She is now on thyroid medicine and hoping it may be somewhat helpful in the big picture.

Weight gain/inability to lose is a common hypothyroid symptom. It's very possible that once you get your thyroid levels in control, you won't need the phentermine. Actually, a healthy diet and adequate exercise should take its place, anyway, since most people who take weight loss drugs, regain the weight as soon as they get off the drugs.
Levothyroxine should be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, with a full cup of water.
I take a half of 37.2 phentermine and .150 synthroid can that throw my TSH out of wack. Are you suppose to take these two together. What can it cause if anything?
the total calories is probably around 1000 - 1100 calories or so. i also used phentermine from my DR and was taking 2 - 3 mile walks per day. i averaged about 2.5 lbs per week loss. i've lost 40 lbs in 4 months. i had a VERY stressful/anxiety period over the past 5 days which caused me to be an emotional wreck, not sleeping well, heart beating fast at times. i cut my phentermine dose in half and totally went off my diet.
m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????

My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. I have lost about 8 pounds in the last month since taking the phentermine but i dont feel like I am losing enough weight for how little i have been eating.
I just had mine removed 3 weeks ago and going through the lovely hypo symptoms. The body and thyroid will recover usally within 6-8 weeks. Just make sure to take thyroid meds as prescribed by dr when he prescribes them.
Your B12 levels are fantastic! You are very lucky! No worries that it is above the high normal....water soluble vitamin and not toxic. That will help greatly with energy. How is your Vit D level?
I am 54 years old and 223 pounds. I am taking Phentermine(37.5) now for a month and eating about 1400 calories a day as part of a no more than 35 grams of carbs diet. I only eat fresh low carb vegetables and lean meats; no sugar, no sodas, no junk food, no alcohol, no smoking; and walking 1 hour / 3 times a week. I only lost 5 pounds in 30 days. This is very depressing. I am on Thyroid medication for an under-active thyroid and am within range. What else can I do?
