Phentermine and smoking

Common Questions and Answers about Phentermine and smoking

phentermine

The same thing happened to me when I quit smoking and is now happening after quitting vicodin. I think the body is just in a state of panic and is compensating with food. It won't last forever. I would NOT go on any drugs for this. Let nature take its course, it will work out. And, YOU have the control.
I have been taking wellbutrin for depression and also quit smoking . but I still would like to help myself with some extra weight that I carry and I'm afraid to keep gaining. could you let me know if it's possible to have the two pills together?
try the search engine up top and see what others say about smoking etc and what effects it has on them. I've read quite a few about MJ and palpations/cp etc it does have an adverse affect on the heart, or so the people who can positively pinpoint that's when their palps/pvcs started.
Abrupt stoppage of the drug can cause withdrawal with fatigue and depression. Phentermine is potentially addicting. Phentermine is not recommended for patients with symptomatic heart disease including rhythm problems. SIDE EFFECTS: Side effects include diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation, an unpleasant taste, hives, impotence, palpitations, high blood pressure, and fast heart rates. Central nervous system side effects include overstimulation, insomnia, restlessness, tremor, and dizziness.
I would be more worried about the side effects and risks of taking phentermine alone! Elevated heart rate, increased blood pressure, increased peripheral vascular resistance all make for increased risk of heart valve damage and heart attack/failure and stroke. It makes your heart have to work so much harder than it should. If you are taking it for appetite suppression/weight-loss then there are better alternative drugs on the market. Ask your doctor.
I was still carrying a lot of the pregnancy weight so i went to a doctor that i knew would give me phentermine. So i've been taking phentermine on and off for 6 months. For the past month, i've been coughing up clear sputum, sometime looks like there's gel-balls or bubbles. It's hard to explain. Should i be worried about this? I don't know if it's from the phentermine, the cigarettes, or because i might be coming down with a respiratory cold. Can i please have some advice?

I had a gastric bypass in 2001 and lost 250 pounds, then my husband and I started fertility treatments and it made me gain 85 pounds back that I could not get rid of even only eating 4 oz of food at a time. On Valentine's day I started the Phentermine and B12 shots and after 1 week I had lost 9 pounds and my energy was outrageous.
You are limited to 2 glasses a month (from what my doctor tells me)..no hard liquor. As far as smoking...they say this is not a good idea...Phentermine already puts a strain on the heart and other organs so smoking just increases your risks for side effects...i am not a smoker so i couldnt tell you of any side effects... i will tell you that my cousin is on the program and is a light smoker (two cigarettes a day) and she claims she has not had any side effects...
Phentermine (Adipex) and walking 3x a week. I trying to stop smoking also, but I am afraid of the losing weight also.
I'm just wondering if anyone was hypo and had success losing weight and how did you do it? I have completely changed my eating habits and started exercising at least 3 days a week if not more and initially lost 5 pounds, but that is all I am able to lose. I was wondering if someone was doing something that worked. If I don't lose weight soon, my thyroid won't be the concern because I'll be so depressed. Can you take weight loss meds (over the counter) with synthroid?
( I have a lot of headaches and finally narrowed it down to smoking! I quit smoking and bam almost ZERO headaches. I would've loved to take Topomax to lose weight but was unsuccessful in getting a prescription before having head scans and all sorts of expensive test. Hmmm...you guys are lucky your dr. got them for you.
I found a great place where you can find the medication you need to loss wieght. I used to be over wieght 190 pounds. I took Phentermine and is really great. Well here is my secret website: www.bestonlineforeignpharmacies.
low carbs. I take 37.5 mg. of Phentermine for appetite control which works well doing its job and w/o feelings of being shaky or heart racing. Extremely dry mouth is only side effect. I record all calories to ensure I do not exceed my limit. Obviously, I need to be taking more shots. Research has shown that every takes at least 3 a week. Again, thanks for you response. It is truly appreciated. Hope to here from you about the other thing.
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.

I've been taking 500mg metformin myself and I have not experienced any weight loss. I am actually taking it for diabetes treatment. But it has not helped with my weight loss.
If we had done the same for cholesterol medications or diabetes medications, or even smoking patches and pills, we’d be paying for it in countless ways. So is there something unique about developing medications for obesity? Obesity is considered by many to be purely a “lifestyle” disease, and some are biased against the obese as a result.
I just started the B12 w/ Adenosine and phentermine to curb my appatite. and a 975 calorie diet. I think this might help you not only with weight loss but b12 and b6 is a natural stress reducer. I feel great on this. I cut out all caffine and alcohol and i don't smoke. I get up in the morning and by the time i get out of the shower i have a ton of energy. i feel like i have had my morning coffee but i haven't had any caffine. Not sure where you live but you can always ask your DR.
I believe the stressors along with mood problems from the phentermine totally exacerbated my depression and I was a wreck...a size 9/10, but a moody mess. In July I went to the doctor and was prescribed Effexor XR 37.5 and had stopped the phentermine. The Effexor helped tremendously even though I was only on the lowest dose. Basically, I stopped crying all the time and wasn't so anxious and irritable. Everything improved. Initially I had some difficulty sleeping and nausea, but this subsided.
I am on the Low GI diet as well as on the phentermine and shots. However I could not take the full phentermine and even on the half dosage I was not able to sleep. So I just got a script for something else which is supposed to suppress my appetite. I am doing the shots every other week. It's a 2 week dosage and the cost is $30. I have not noticed it making me lose more weight but my friend that referred me to this weightloss clinic said it boosted her weight loss.
I have also ran out and have been without it for several days and the side effects are awful lots of vertigo and nightmares,I have also gained weight and just don't feel like when I do take it like I and suppose to which is 99% of the time that it is all that great . My Dr. told me nothing about how difficult it was to come off of and I am pretty upste about it, sorry I dont have any answer for you but if you figure it out let me know thanks!
Take suboxone. I was on 30 norcos methadone perks and oxy plus Phentermine and b12 plus drinking and smoking I am clean and sober since Feb 3. Suboxone is a miracle!
This was an unplanned (but not unwanted) pregnancy. At the time I conceived I was taking diet pills (phentermine 37.5 mg) and a new medicine to stop smoking (Chantix)....not to mention Saturday and Sunday I received 2 large doses of Demerol shots. Also before Saturday morning I had absolutely NO bleeding or pain. I ironed clothes, mopped, cleaned bathrooms, etc. and began to hurt and spot brown blood, which led me to take the pregnancy test.
dont count it as your period i would schedule something now for the week after your period is due just incase you are late so you have an appointment already but definitly stop diet pills any alcohlo or smoking and limit otc meds as much as possible hope it helps
(I posted this as an answer to someone else, but I thought it was pretty good *smile* and wanted to make it a new posting, so maybe it will help those who are unsure). Think Thin!!! ------------------------- I think if everyone stops, takes a deep breath, then re-reads the actual text of what hcg does, you will realize we are all wrong, and yet all correct. I will explain.... a moment of your time is all I need, and I appreciate you reading my post.
I am not sleeping that well at night and I don't eat anymore...I also quit smoking when this started happening...I am only 35 and I just want to live a normal life and be a good mother for my 3 children...if anyone has any words of advice...please comment back...
Smoking marijuana has a energizing and life giving effect. For obvious reasons I need to find a alternative. Have tried several anti depressants and have not found one without undesirable and dibilitating side effects. Smoking pot is not a option. The question is, Is there an alternative way to take THC that is legal. Is it possible to get a product in pill form? Smoking and or eating pot is not a legal option but the benefit of being on THC is remarkable!
I smoked approx 2 pk/day for almost 40 yrs - quit 2 and 1/2 yrs ago, so I know it's not easy. I can't tell you what to do about the phentermine --- that would be a decision that you and your doctor should make together. I *can* tell you, however, that drugs are not the best way to lose weight; because, although you may lose weight on the phentermine, chances are great that you will gain it all back as soon as you stop the drug.
