Hi everyone, I know I have ask you guys about the sub, Trileptal and Lexapro making you gain weight so I ask my psyc. about it and he looked in his little book and said that it is not reported to really increase appetite but there are studies that say that lexapro does but he also said but the pill dosen't weigh 10 pounds so I think you will be ok.

I have been on Lexapro for 6 months. I too have gained about 10lbs to this point. Increasing my exercise and eating less (or a clean diet) has not helped one bit, in fact, I continued to gain. Has anyone been on a 10mg dose and dropped to 5mg? Did this dosage drop effect your weight at all. Lexapro has worked wonders on my anxiety and I would like to see if I find a way to continue taking.

Hi, I gained 30 lbs in in 2 years all in my belly and love handles from lexapro. I've been off for a year and in this year have tried everything. Also, while on it, I consistently exercised 6 days a week, no sugar, no processed foot, etc. I lost my on-camera career due to this and am broke, as my dr kept insisting it couldn't be this drug.

I am on Phentermine a diet pill, I have been taking it for 4 months. I have Anxiety and I am also Bipolar which I haven't had any Anxiety for over a year now. It did nothing for me. I love phentermine. I take the 37.5 mg but split it in half. Take 1/2 in am and 1/2 about 12:00 noon. Love, Love Love it. Having great success with the combo.

I am a 27 year old female. When I was 22, I took the drugs adderall, lexapro and ephedrine/phentermine (diet pills-occasionally). One night, my heart rate shot up and would not come back down, don’t matter what I tried. I went to the emergency room and they said it was the drugs I was taking. When I was 23, I began having syncope episodes and got a pacemaker. Looking back, I believe the syncope episodes were caused by the adderall and lexapro. However, I have had chest pains ever since.

I was on Lexapro for almost 2 years...it helped with the depression,etc but made me an emotional zombie...i had no feelings up or down. It also caused me to gain about 40 lbs. I recently, in the last two months, went off of it becuase I got pregnant...I have since had a m/c and I feel i need to go back on SOMETHING. Are there any antidepressants that don't cause weight gain???

Take GARLIC Caps - will also help with detox. If you have Phentermine (most likely you do not), take 5mg if you absolutely need a huge boost. It is for battling weight loss and just happen to get my hands on some. Do NOT take much as you do not need to substitute one drug for another. THE MOST IMPORTANT TO ME - Take VIVARIN or NO DOZ. First i must say, after you have been popping pills this long, you almost HAVE to take something orally.

the length of treatment depends on how you respond to the medication. Phentermine can be habit-forming. Do not take a larger dose, take it more often, or take it for a longer period than your doctor tells you to.

But I have gained weight due to spending a whole two years on Lexapro...2007-2009. I am miserable when overweight. So, I remembered that during my time with Effexor XR, I did not gain. However, I still have the appetite of a horse on it, I am menopausal, and it is harder, even with calorie counting and exercise to take off the last 15 lbs. So, I asked my doc to put me back on wellbutrin. She said just switch.Well, that was an utter nightmare. Day 7 I went back to the effexor.

The end of last year I asked my doc if I could switch my Lexapro to Wellbutrin. Hey what about takin g the combination of Effexor and Cymbalta---plus I am taking Phentermine to hyelp me lose weight but it seems I am at a stand still----could it be from these anti-depressant pills

I have been under mega stress....and have gained 25# on Lexapro (thnx, doc....ex-doc, actually!). Went to new doc, told him about headaches which are occurring weekly now, and last anywhere from 1 - 3 days - to hosp twice in 6mos. But if the other side effects haven't gone away, those proably don't either, and increasing the dose would probably make them worse. You could try phentermine or Bontril for appetite control if you wanted to try something with less side effects. I started Bontril in June, along with B-12/ hcg injections, and have lost 19 lbs.
