i am wanting to know has anybody else had health problems caused by phentermine? if so please respond and let me know what this drug has to you?
i started noticing a probem with my eye sight and have been diagnosed with an eye diseas and would have eventually caused me problems. the symptoms where not gradual from the eye disease. one day my eye sight was fine the next day it is not. i feel that the med caused my eye disease to speed up and hope to find out soon if that is the case. when i went to my doctor my bp was 154 over 108. i have never had problems with my bp and now i do.
I have taken phentermine off and on for about 5 years now. When I started I went to a doctor for a year then I ordered online for a few years. I am now back at the doctors office because I have been duped online a few times. I love phentermine because it helps me drop the weight. My problem is maintaining the loss. I am 5'6" and 5 years ago I went from a size 22 to a 12 in about 18 months.
i would like to know if there is any reason why i should not take methimazole and phentermine at the same time and/or if the phentermine could possibly cause my hyperactive thyroidism to return.
I had been taking the Phen for about 4 months and I lost about 25 lbs. But the effects seemed like they stopped and it wasn't doing anything for me anymore. My girlfriend she works in a doctors office said that their doctor will take people off of it for about a month and place you back on it so that it works again. I am about to start taking it again. Thing is I have gained about 7 lbs back. I also bought 5-THP today as to what brought me here....
I had a gastric bypass in 2001 and lost 250 pounds, then my husband and I started fertility treatments and it made me gain 85 pounds back that I could not get rid of even only eating 4 oz of food at a time. On Valentine's day I started the Phentermine and B12 shots and after 1 week I had lost 9 pounds and my energy was outrageous.
I went to my GP who sent me to my eye doctor. Eye doctor checked out the optical nerve, and it was fine. She told me to wear my close-up and distance glasses more. The pressure continued, responded somewhat to ibuprofin. I went to my chiropractor last week and she relieved the symptoms a little. Yesterday I began feeling pain in a tooth that has a crown. It is now sensitive to cold and clearly a problem.
and my doctor said Xenical and Meridia cause really horrible bowel problems..... so Topamax was a good choice ... and as far as the aniexty is concerned and depression...I feel like a new person... I have more energy and I just can't explain it... everyone at work says...oh, did you color your hair... or did you get a makeover or something ?... have you lost weight... what's different .... I LOVE THIS DRUG !! To all of you who have never been fat and depressed ...
As long as you have a good doctor though, they are probably prescribing what you need, maybe medicines won't have the same affect on you as it does some people. There are probably many people who take it and have no problems. Good luck whatever you decide with your health issues!
My husband had infertility problems on his side too and they told us we would have a 5% chance of getting pregnant without using Invitro. I was on Metformin for about 3 months and lost 15 lb. I also found out I was pregnant (naturally) within 6 months. My daughter will be celebrating her first birthday on the 27th of September. I only gained about 30 lb and was happy that I had lost that 15 before hand. I have also just started Metformin again.
what was suppost to help with the eye sight didnt work so went to neurologist to try and find out what esle is going on. did a mri and mra couldnt find anything else like a annorism. the neurologist said i had a mild stroke but since it was mild wouldnt show up in the texts.with my eye sight looks like will have to have a cornea transplant. i feel that the phentermine sped up the eye disease to the point nothing will work but havning a cornea transplant. i just need to get proof this happened.
The Dr thinks that I might have a herniated disc and thinks that I should see a neurologists to rule out MS. I also have eye problems, dizziness, I had painful needles and pins in my hands that have resolve plus feeling of rubber bands around my wrists but because I don't have insurance nothing has been done. So I need to loose a lot of weight fast. In my mind if I drop at least 50lbs I should be able to get around enough to do something.
I believe the stressors along with mood problems from the phentermine totally exacerbated my depression and I was a wreck...a size 9/10, but a moody mess. In July I went to the doctor and was prescribed Effexor XR 37.5 and had stopped the phentermine. The Effexor helped tremendously even though I was only on the lowest dose. Basically, I stopped crying all the time and wasn't so anxious and irritable. Everything improved. Initially I had some difficulty sleeping and nausea, but this subsided.
My doctor wants to put me on the hcg diet as I am diabetic and 40 pouns. My biggest problem is that I am a vegetarian and the fish, veal, chicken, etc. is nt a possibility for me. Are any of you out there a vegetarian. Can anyone give me some help.
The pain radiates up to my ear and eye. I've had so many allergy problems in my life and wonder if it's not from a viral infection. So many of you have these same symptoms I have. One ENT told me it was just a kink in my artery and to "just live with it"!!! I'm looking forward to the appt. with the vascular guy.
Sure I felt great for the first few weeks but as the weeks progressed my B6 and b12 levels must have been so out of wack i started experiencing eye problems and joint pain. I think i was having an allergic reaction to one of the shots but the doctors there would not follow up. it's expensive and I can't believe I did it. It wasn't worth it. To anyone who is thinking of doing this, I hope that you do your research well.
Could the phentermine be causing this, I took it once years ago with no problems. Could it be a reaction, muscular, or nerves. I am at a loss as to what to think or do. No other medical conditions do I have. I am 31 y/o and relatively healthy. Smoke 1/2 pack a day of cigarettes, though. Thank you.
Believe me you don't have to wonder if you are experiencing withdrawals or side effects, they are NOT subtle. Your post illustrates the sometimes frustrating and always confusing problems of sorting out cause and effect. On 10/7 I came down with a very bad cold/sinus/allergic attack; [103 fever, nose running like a faucet, head stuffed like an old mattress] I was literally flat on my back until this morning when I felt well enough to check e-mail and such.
By the way the patient has improved dramatically but is still on four different glaucoma medications and one dilating drop. He is nowhere close to a full recovery and I suspect that he will probably have long term negative effects from the attack. If you are on Topamax or considering taking it, please be aware that it can cause acute myopia, choroidal effusions, acute angle closure glaucoma and severe vision loss.
If your heart is pounding he might have you wear an even monitor so you can catch the pounding on it so it can be evaluated. Phentermine is a stimulant and directly affects the heart. For those of us with arrythmias, it is something we stay far away from. When you add phentermine and stress together, you've got a double dose of adrenaline. Other things that might irritate it are caffeine, liquor, or choclate.
I have decided to try and stay calm because I do know that adreline plays a big factor in my problems. My work life and my home life is not the best in the world. I need a vacation. I need the Beach. Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The best place on the face of the Earth. My little Granddaughter came to visit me last night and asked if she could come back today and I tild her yes but today has been so bad that I couldn't even call her. I feel bad for her.
Hi Lisa, yeah, I wouldn't listen to someone who has put other people's weighloss in front of his own personal spelling problems! I was taking phentermine and HCG, after 3 months, I was down 48lbs. I was also walking and doing an aerobic workout a few times a week! I felt great!

So you have to keep an eye out on that and keep checking your TSH levels. My problem may be that my TSH is 0.003. That is great for the cancer suppression but not that great for weight loss. Feel good and keep me posted on how you're doing with Cytomel. You should be feeling more energetic since Cytomel takes effect very quickly.
