m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
i too was on phentermine and kinda hit a wall - stopped working and couldn't sleep well.. i requested meridia (big $) to replace/in addition to the phen and it gave me terrible gastric pains.
doc then had me try the phen in the morning and diethylpropion (tenuate) in evening (where i was having sleep issues). worked wonderfully. i had considered asking for phendimetrizine but i read it was a schedule 3 drug and i had read a bariatric magazine article that casually linked it to pph.
Wait it out. Phentermine is nothing but caffeine, and the pharmacist and doctor should have told you to reduce your caffein intake. If they didnt, then it was in your package insert when you get the medicine filled.
Right now all you can do is wait it out. Rest, drink lots of water and NO MORE ENERGY DRINKS. Never, ever do that again. You are going to cause yourself to have heart problems do to the excessive amount of caffeine.
There is street value and addiction to phentermine. Actually, clinical studies have shown that phentermine causes more heart conditions than amphetamine, but Big Pharm and the FDA are in bed together, nobody wants to leave all those billions of dollars left to nutritionists and work out trainers.
I agree with msme7..................except, maybe you need to come down off it slowly, rather than "cold turkey". Talk to your doctor.............

Hello, Like you, I am sometimes reluctant to add new medication and I'm am always wanting to check and double check drug interactions. Have you discussed your reservations with your new doctor? Is he aware of your past blood pressure? Have you asked specifically if you should monitor your BP at home and what the "too high" of a number would be? If not, I think you should call and ask for a little more info.
My foster child is in juvenile drug court for a marijuana problem. He had done well for almost 50 days, and suddenly failed a drug test for amphetamines last week. He is tested 4 times a week...he was "dirty" Monday, but clean Tuesday. He came down with a cold ladt weekend and I gave him Dayquil Sunday night and Monday, and he swears he hasn't taken anything else; he's never taken amphetamines in the past so I doubt he would now, but I can't be 100% sure.
A doctor prescribed me a combo of Redotex in the morning and 30mg Phentermine HCl at lunch (for weight loss). Is it dangerous?
These are the active ingredients of Redotex:
o Tri iodothyronine (Triyodotironina) 75 mcg. A hormone used to increase the metabolic rate of tissues.
o Norpseudoephedrine (Clorhidrato de D Norseudoefedrina) 50 mg. An amphetamine like drug.
o Atropine sulfate (Sulfato de Atropina) 0.36 mg. Used as a respiratory and circulatory stimulant.
o Aloin (Aloina) 16.2 mg.
I feel all i did was trade the illegal drug for a legal one, although i have purchased phentermine off the internet for years. the kick in the butt, I got fat again, I am on jenny craig finally and helping a little, but still can't seem to move without popping the little white and blue pill.
I prescribed60 mg of adderall but one week I had to take left over phentermine and 10mg adderall and my focusing was great and energy and I still do take 1/3 of phentermine a day.
I'm in the process of switching to a new dentist and the new patient form I had to fill out asked "Have you ever taken any combination of the drug known as 'fen-phen'. I have been taking Phentermine for about a week and I have a lot of red, ichy bumps (they look and are symptomic as mosquito bites generally behave). If I didn't know better I would think they were mosquito bites! They are contained on my torso, sides and back - these presented after about 3 days on Phentermine, and I cannot belive that I would end up with 30+ mosquito bites in one day - they all appeared overnight. Can this be a reaction to the Phentermine?
hello. i am 135 and 5'6. i maintained my weight without phentermine and somewhat occasional use here and there. it does train you on how much to eat. i couldn't eat a big meal even if i try. i get full right away. because on phentermine, you eat very little portions and i find myself making better choices. Your stomach does shrink when you don't eat alot, so if you keep up with watching your calories and not overeat or eat past the full feeling, you will be fine.
I miscarried last Wednesday Nov. 21 at 8 weeks & 3 days. My pregnancy was totally unplanned. I'm 39 will be 40 on 12-3. I started taking Phentermine for weight loss in June and am down 54 pounds. I would never take any type of amphetamine with an arrhythmia; all kinds of things could happen. I think that's what started my major problems with my NSVT runs that made my heart stop.
I've been taking monthly B12 injections for about 2 years, and 37.5 mg phentermine daily for about a month, and I haven't lost any weight at all. The four and a half pounds that I've lost, I attribute to the boot camp that joined two weeks ago.
