Phentermine and drinking alcohol

Common Questions and Answers about Phentermine and drinking alcohol

phentermine

I have taken Phentermine several times in the past and I was told by my DR. to AVOID drinking alcohol while taking phentermine. Phentermine is a stimulant that is similar to an amphetamine. It is an appetite suppressant that affects the central nervous system. It worked great for me loosing weight. But, I do have 2 friends that mixed alcohol and phentermine and it was NOT a pretty site. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine.
I know the first day I took the phentermine I was sweaty and hunched over the toilet and felt the same way you are claiming. I was scared to ever touch it again. I started taking half and half and worked my way up to a full. I gave myself about 2 weeks. I probably could've in a week, But I hated that feeling! If you are drinking any caffine or alcohol I would say minimize it. It might be raising your blood pressure to make you feel so bad. I have cut it out completely!
Abrupt stoppage of the drug can cause withdrawal with fatigue and depression. Phentermine is potentially addicting. Phentermine is not recommended for patients with symptomatic heart disease including rhythm problems. SIDE EFFECTS: Side effects include diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation, an unpleasant taste, hives, impotence, palpitations, high blood pressure, and fast heart rates. Central nervous system side effects include overstimulation, insomnia, restlessness, tremor, and dizziness.
My cousin and I started this program in AZ and have been on it for about a month and a half. Both of us have lost about 14 lb. so far. We take the phentermine and B-12 shots and we are also going to start the chromate (appetite suppressant). We both noticed that after a while the effectiveness of the phentermine starts to diminish. We feel more hungry than we did before.
I had a gastric bypass in 2001 and lost 250 pounds, then my husband and I started fertility treatments and it made me gain 85 pounds back that I could not get rid of even only eating 4 oz of food at a time. On Valentine's day I started the Phentermine and B12 shots and after 1 week I had lost 9 pounds and my energy was outrageous.
I am eating more protains and vegetables during the day and a fruit at night. I am not drinking the 8 glasses of water that I am supposed to, too much time in the bathroom :o) if I do that. The shot area is still hurting, I wonder if that is normal... I'll see next week when I give the other cheek. I paid $210 for 4 shots and the month supply of pills, how much are you paying? Does anybody know a place in the San Francisco Bay Area that does not cost this much?
I'm really concerned because I received oral sex from a girl two weeks ago. I went to Urgent Care just to be on the safe side and they did and urine test and a visual examination and said everything was normal. The PA said she was not worried since I didn’t have any other symptoms but she would send the urine off for some additional testing. My first question is could this be an STD or just a result of the hand sanitizer coming in contact with my penis?
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
Miguel, What you've said all sounds fine, except for the adipex. You know, don't you, adipex is phenetermine, related to the amphetamines. I've "played with phentermine" and I know it can pack an amphetamine-like wallop. If possible, I'd discontinue any kind of stimulant while you're trying to get off Vicodin. You're after rest and tranquility, not the frenetic behavior that phentermine leads you too. I know it feels great. No doubt.
I've been taking 500mg metformin myself and I have not experienced any weight loss. I am actually taking it for diabetes treatment. But it has not helped with my weight loss.
I am afraidn that I am going to cheat, if I do not have something. I have been drinking all the water that I am supose to and have followed everything else to the t. Any options out their for me? Angel food cake has very few calories and almost no sugar, that has to be better than a candy bar that sounds so appealing.
In fact, last year while I was still taking 225mg I began dieting and lost 17lbs in a short time period by eating more healthfuly, controlling portions, and drinking lots of water. Unfortunately I "fell off the wagon" and again resumed some of my bad habits which resulted in gaining some of that weight back. Over the last year I have gradually tapered my medication (under the guidance of my physician) and very, very slowly come off the medication.
Some say, why don’t we save the millions of dollars spent on drug research and instead invest them in education, legislation, and regulations that will help us eat better and exercise more? Put the money towards the health costs of the uninsured. Or, use it to fund research in diabetes, heart disease, or any of the other countless complications of obesity. But is it too early to admit defeat?
I was an alcoholic for many years prior to the pill addiction. I've tried so many other drugs (coke, acid, x, shrooms, crack, meth, etc.) and alcohol and pills are the only ones that got me. I remember the first time I had kidney stones, the pain medication they gave IV was a dream! At home I remember how much a 7.5/500 hydro would have me flyin, feeling great, cleaning house, being a better parent.
Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase some of the side effects of phentermine. Phentermine may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Keep track of how many pills have been used from each new bottle of this medicine. Phentermine is a drug of abuse and you should be aware if any person in the household is using this medicine improperly or without a prescription.
I used to weigh somewhere around 290 now I'm about 170. I did this mostly by only drinking water and eating a lot less although my diet was still pretty junky most of the time. One of the reasons I decided to lose weight was severe debilitating fatigue I was having. This hasn't improved, as a matter of fact it probably got worse but I'll go into that later. So in the last couple of moths I started getting sweet cravings. Very severe sweet cravings.
As an aside, while I chose not to include the doctor that originally prescribed this med in this decision, all my MD's are on speed dial, I have a supply of the drug if the effects become unbearable. I have also completely stopped drinking any alcohol and seriously cut back on caffiene. I might also mention that I'm currently not working [not directly related to depression or meds] so I do have the time to "check out" as needed.
) So I suppose then check with your GP and see if they suggest you take alcohol with the pills, and if its ok then just keep it under the calories you decide on for the day! I have lost 13 pounds and have given up everything that I know of that have flared them off in the past. I barely eat, I barley leave the house for personal time, I hate to drive now. I am a WRECK!!!!!! I want my life BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cry all the time, I am scared all the time, I hate this type of life. I am usually a fun, outgoing, hardworking person.
quit drinking 3 1/2 years ago and haven't touched it since.....this is harder though....the w/d from alcohol was much easier....I was knocking back 15-18 beers a night for 2 years....missed alot.....don't want to miss anymore because of these damn things....they seem so harmless compared to the beer. They don't make me goofy, but I still take too much.....hopefully, this is the last round for me....
substance abuse hospital--)-The only problem that I face at present is the fear that my doctor will discontinue the treatment regimen in lieu of a more traditional treatment method...Given my honesty and dramatic relief of problems---and general mental and physcial stability..my doctor has worked closely with me to be able to securely prescribe such a controversial drug....
Of course, I made a conscience choice to cut out the salt, sugar and fatty foods all together - I went to the gym at least 4 times a week and I quit drinking alcohol. With the Lipo B12 injection, I feel great and as of today, I have lost a total 18 lbs. I started HCG shot since last week as well because I want to get off the Adipex pills. I found that just taking the Lipo B12 and HCG every 7 days is working faster than I can imagine.

To be honest i have been on that napolina and yeah it helped me urinate more often, and everything i would eat would rush me to the bathroom, but to be honest as far as weight loss i havent seen no results, the only thing that i do see effective is when i was with my nutitionist that he gave me phentermine and water pills, and i think i will go back, and lose my weight thru phentermine ,and once i lose all the weight,i will not cont.

Hi! You aren't alone...I too "suffer" from these episodes...I hate them, I have let them take over my life...instead of me controlling the situation,I let the situation control me! I have had them since I was 13yrs old and they have gotten worse...but I have had 3 kids, and I'm still alive! and yes I do have a "drink" every now and then...
no matter what I did I couldn't drop below 170, so I teetered between 170/180 until I complained to my dr. He then put me on phentermine and I lost almost 20lbs in about 2 months. After that my weight would yoyo a bit between 160 and 170, but I couldn't go down anymore....
