Hi yes sounds like a UTI so be sure to get it treated and talk to your doctor. I once let my UTI go too far w/o treatment and ended up with a kidney infection not fun! And make sure to drink lots of water and never hold your pee for any Period of time.
I've since had another Period - this one a little heavier than normal, but I'm assuming the 1st Period I didn't ovulate and the 2nd Period I did and had more lining to discharge because of the light Period previously. The urgent need to pee has passed and the severe pressure and pain as passed, but there is still lingering pain when I begin to go and after I finish. Help, please.
I have been SUFFERING from a UTI for 5 days now. I have been on Macrobid for that Period of time. My symptoms are not getting any better. In fact, I had flu like symptoms today as well. I did some research and found that many Macrobid users found themselves getting violently sick around the 4-5 day of use. I am desperate!!!! It is the holiday season and I cannot get back into my urologist until the 3rd. The pain and discomfort is making me want to jump off a bridge (no joke).
I am scared that I may not be able to have children. I have a Period every month. But I recieve d three or four UTI's. In I am scared that it's ruinning my chance of having children.
I've had UTI's and you'll know by feeling like you have to go really bad, then hardly anything comes out and it burns. the urine was probably darker from getting concentrated overnight. try drinking extra water and see if it doesn't clear up. if you get the symptoms i described go to your dr, if not treated your kidneys can get infected and you don't want that-speaking also from experience. those symptoms will be tenderness in your back, fever and vomiting-go to er with that Right away.
i have cramps almost like Period cramps in my lower stomach and back and my stomach is sore to touch around my bellybutton its very tender for about the past week. I also have headaches and for the past two days i have being peeing a little more than usual. i took a home urinalysis test and the protein was normal however the ph was high and the leukocytes were trace/small. is it a UTI?
This is becoming a cycle. A month ago i had UTI/urinary tract infection w/discomfort, difficulty urinating. After the course of antibiotics it seemed to disappear, but yesterday i had gas like stomach w/heavy feeling in lower abdomen. i'm about to have Period, so i dont know if the pain is related, but the story repeated again. My doc will be back in town Monday only, can i last that long? Taking uristat for now, but the pain comes back occasionally. Did anyone experience this?
Im not entirely sure if this is my Period or discharge but my last Period started 1/25 and ended a few days after, so I'm not supposed to start for another week and a half!! I should also mention I have what feels like cramps and lower back pain. Just as an FYI... Earlier this week my boyfriend and I decided that I should get off my birth control Microgestin fe 1/20 just to get my body off all unnecessary hormones etc..
I had gone to a Dr. earlier in the month because I suspected that I had a UTI, and she prescribed me and antibiotic. The antibiotic made me feel nauseous so I took it until I couldn't. I didn't finish the medication, I had a weeks doseage. This week I have taken a home UTI test and it came up positive for "500+++" leu/uL leukoctes. I assume that means if have a UTI again. I have heard that cranberry juice/ fruits high in antioxidants can help get rid of it.
Now, for over a whole year (as of October 2008) i get a UTI (urinary infection) once a month EVERY month. i started noticing that every time i got it, it was a week Before my Period. At first the doctors thought it was normal for a young sexually active girl to get these things. Now they think something is really wrong because as said ive had it monthly for a whole year now. I dont think its because im sexually active because this started Before i was.
I would tell your doc asap its not safe to have a UTI for a Period of time while pregnant. Their prescription knocks it out n no time. They say dont take azos, but cranberry juics and water r good too.
Also avoid sitting for long Periods of time or on surfaces that are not well padded. If you do indulge in intercourse during the Period of treatment, ensure that you practise safe sex (condoms) so as to not infect or be infected by your partner. Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Some people are more prone to getting a UTI than others. Any abnormality of the urinary tract that obstructs the flow of urine or an enlarged prostate gland, presence of catheters, or tubes, placed in the urethra and bladder, people with diabetes have a higher risk of a UTI because of changes in the immune system. In adult women, the rate of UTIs gradually increases with age. One factor may be that a woman's urethra is short, allowing bacteria quick access to the bladder.
I am also post menopausal and experienced two UTI's after surgery. I have been told that some women go through a Period of UTI's during and after menapause. A low acid diet seems to help as well as supplements targeted for the bladder. Hope you get some long term relief soon. Please let us know how things go.
So I had a really bad UTI and the DR. gave me a pill to take for 5 days and said come back in a month to check if its gone. Does that seem like a long time to wait to go back and check? I'm also 7 days late for my peroid I've taken 2 PG and both negative (both were dollar store) could the UTI have anything to do with a late peroid? I don't have any burning but the cloudyness has returned.

Does anyone know how UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) is connected to HIV? Is it a symptom or have any relation to HIV. I know I had a low risk exposure but my doctor told me I have a tract infection and put me on meds (went in because of pain in testicle) and I've seen other posts about UTI's on this board.
Doctor called and said culture was negative for infection. Told Doctor I had my Period two days after urine analysis. Doctor wants me to have CT scan. Can you have a UTI with a negative culture?
I seem to get a UTI after every Period. I drink tons of cranberry around that time and I still get them. I have been to the doctor and tests do show infection- although I don't always go to doctor each time because it is impractical. Especially now that I just lost my job. They do sometimes seem to go away w/o antibiotics. I'm on birth control pills and glucophage. Is it possible that these are not UTI's and if they are, what more can I do to get rid of it and prevent.
It sounds very likely a UTI. If they get severe enough, you can start to notice bleeding from the urinary tract. Take her to a doctor and they'll be able to do a urine test and give her antibiotics for it. I have one at the moment, and the only problem I had with it was kidney pain and cloudy urine.
that the bleeding should go away less and less n by 3 days it should be gone. I still dont feel like I have a UTI . Is it possible for an UTI to trigger your Period to come earlier. While I was taking antibiotics for my UTI I was bleeding a lot (like a normal Period), but I wasn't sure if it was actually my Period.
My cycle usually lasts anywhere between 30-36 days and my Period lasts for about 5 days. My last Period was on the 18th of December. It all started on Sunday evening when i started to get PMS cramps. So i thought must be coming but nothing has happened apart from having a burning ache in my bladder area which feels the same as when i had a UTI a year ago. Could it be putting off my Period or my stress has delayed it?
