Some think so yes but I don't think so. The way i believe is by definition a period is the shedding of the uterine lining. If you are pregnant and have a period which sheds you uterine lining you will also shed the egg/baby. Once you get pregnant your body releases a hormone which tells it not to shed your lining because you are pregnant.. I believe some women can bleed during pregnancy but it's not an actual period and the bleeding is from something else besides inside the uterus.

I hadn't had a period for 8 years and then last February, out of the blue, I hemorrhaged!!!!! Since then I had one short period. So, the year without a period apparently doesn't/didn't apply in my case which is why there is confusion.
Hi, maybe someone can help me out. For almost a year everytime I have my period I get so much pain down there. The pain feels like something is gonna push out my insides, or if I'm sittin on the toilet it feells like if I push while being its all gonna come out same with #2, sounds gross .but on a scale from 1-10 I have felt pain I think its safe to say a 10, its come to the point I feel like I'm gonna pass out from the pain.

You can have bleeding in pregnancy but not a technical period. If you look up by definition the word period it is the shedding of the uterine lining and all that's in it. But the only way to know if you are pregnant is take a test but if you are having completely normal periods changes are no you arent.
Some may argue you can have a period during pregnancy but by definition of a monthly period you would shed the uterine lining along with everything in and on it. I believe you can have bleeding during pregnancy but it does not come from within your uterus. Again i would honestly go get checked by the dr just to be certain.
You can't have a period while pregnant--by definition. You can have bleeding though and it does happen around that time. It's only a major concern if you bleed heavy. Best of luck to you.
I am by definition considered infertile... although took 2 1/2 years to conceive me and my husband did. we are trying for our second with no luck until my period was late... many tests later they still say negative... yesterday i started getting this light bloody mucus on tissue when i wipe but no period... could i be pregnant even though test negative...
Hi Jen, is that what it is spasticity? I have been having a similar problem and the closest I have got to a definition was a form of writers cramp - I call it workers cramp as it happens when using any sort of tool - painting, whisking etc. I did look up spasticity before but didn't understand the definition really.
By definition, it is not possible to have a period and be pregnant. But it is possible to have bleeding during pregnancy.
