Percocet with naproxen

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet with naproxen

percocet

Avatar n tn who prescribed Flexeril, Percocet and Naproxen. The Naproxen made him very sick as well as angry (the anger could also be from coming off of the Tramadol) so now he's taking Percocet and Flexeril. I used to be a Pharmacy Tech so I know the combination of all these drugs can be (or is) dangerous and initially (while on Tramadol) he didn't use the Percocet but I found out he was using the Flexeril with the Tramadol.
Avatar m tn Yes, I do have friends I spend majority of my time with that do smoke. I current take Naproxen 500MG two or three times a day (depending on pain) and Percocet (OR SUB)--5MG / 325MG. I have been taking Naproxen for almost two months and Percocet for about 2 weeks. Could it be a false positive?

699217 tn?1323438700 Here is the easiest way to look at it, (i think?) ... Percocet has tylenol in it, however, oxycodone and oxycontin are just straight percocet, no tylenol. I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab.
Avatar f tn Honey if you are in pain that is not cool, but don't let your mind play tricks on you..please this is one thing you don't want to play around with ..its like playing with fire..Can you use naproxen..its a very strong type of IBProfin ...this is a journey you don't want to go down again..having a addicted mind and thought life is the hardest to over come you don't want to train yourself all over again.
Avatar m tn on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn t think muscle relaxers are addictive, except for Soma, at least in my experience, and can sometimes be helpful with neck and back pain. Ibuprofen or Naproxen is good for inflamation and muscle relaxers for spasms. I am not sure what else you can take or what you are looking for. Any Narcotic is potentially addictive, so if you have had problems with them in the past they would be hard to get off of.
Avatar n tn We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues. Meloxicam (Mobic) is most commonly used for reducing pain, inflammation and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis. It's in the family of NSAID's medications. As far as I know it's not a muscle relaxer. I hope this has been of some help to you...........
1174679 tn?1264074704 Okay, I am in sooo much pain right now, I have spondolysis along with a reverseral of the curve of my neck, and have been able to manage the pain with a ton of over the counter pain medicene along with some Naxproxen and some vicodin here and there, but here lately, nothing seems to be working, the vicodin is making me sick to my stomache and tired, I have two five year olds and a 9 month old, so thats out of the question, can't be tired, the naxproxen is making me sick to my stomache, help.
Avatar n tn i am currently taking 20mg citalopram, i suffer with server back problems and im usually prescribed naproxen 250mg which help with the pain. Am i able to take my naproxen with my citalopram? as i am currently lots of pain and unsure what can take.
Avatar f tn I think you want to know more about the drug you are abusing. Percocet is one of the brand names of the drug oxycodone when it is combined with acetaminophen. Oxycodone is semi-synthetic and was created in the mid 20th century to improve upon other opioids such as morphine or codeine. Although the chemical composition of oxycodone is almost identical to heroin, oxycodone abuse often lacks the strong taboos and negative reputation of heroin.
Avatar f tn Be really careful with all NSAIDS Ibuprofen and Naproxen are both NSAIDS. Mellie83 is right that they are hard on the stomach. I thought I was being careful in my use of the Naproxen the neurologist wants me to use on my migraines. I still ended up with gastritis. And, I already have GERD. You don't want to add gastritis to your list of problems when you're dealing with FMS already!
Avatar f tn i get tired of being stiff, cant take naproxen anymore, makes my hands swell up some, so now Dr told me to take 1 moltrin in am and pm.. its helping a bit..
Avatar m tn s main ingredient Naproxen sodium is for the relief of inflammation, pain and stiffness. It is commonly taken by persons with arthritis. If you have arthritis you should see a doctor. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Im a Fibromyalgia patient with severe body aches and pain bad enough for narcotic pain killers. I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me.
Avatar f tn Congrats to him for his clean time, and congrats to you for sticking with him through this!! Regarding the naproxen and his kidneys, I'm pretty sure naproxen is considered an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory). NSAID's can cause kidney issues. It is possible that he may have done some damage to his liver/kidneys from his abuse of the pills. How long was he using, and how much?
Avatar n tn oh, and my doctor says letss see if it disloves by your next menstrual. he gave me naproxen and vicoprofen for the pain, i dont understand how naproxen is gonna help get rid of the cysts. what should i do?
Avatar f tn I am not diagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis yet sice all the test results are negative, but the doctor thinks i might be catching the early stage of the one. My doctor prescribed Naproxen. I took it and it works for the meantime but does it actually prevent from arthritis to stop the development of the disease or the symptom, or it's just a temporary pain relief?
Avatar f tn I don't know if anyone is still reading this. BUt I too get MAJOR painful cramps. It came to a point where I've tried every drug (naproxen, birth control etc) the doctor would give and I would end up in the hospital almost every month to get a shot of morphine. THEN morphine was no longer strong enough. I haven't been back to the hospital in 5 years since my gyno started me on Toridol.
Avatar f tn A week after, both of my ankle began hurting along with my knuckles and wrists. Around mid August, decided to see a doctor and they said no visible swelling and it can be a viral infection. My doctor assumed the blood test he ordered will be normal and Naproxen will fix the pain. The initial blood work came all normal except for ANA test which was slightly elevated. Then my doctor preceded to test RF factor, again normal.
Avatar f tn ve also been to PT two different times, chiropractor, and massage therapy. Pain medication like percocet only helps in the short term and I often end up with rebound headaches when I take it. I have had a MRI of my neck, an MRA and CT angiography all have been normal. Any ideas?? I asked my primary doctor about the vein issue and she said the MR Venogram is too invasive and wouldn't be worth pursuing. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hi guys! I have a lot of chronic pain problems with my knee, back and foot. I have been on all sorts of meds in the past, including vicodin and percocet. My orthopedic Dr. told me before I could mix tylenol with advil and it would equal a pain pill without the narcotic effect. I don't remember how many of each to take and how many hours apart to take each of them. Is this safe? I would rather take these then go back on pain meds! Thanks!
Avatar n tn You are right in theory and wrong in practice. The Naproxen can be taken with alcohol. Thats right- the papaer you are reading isnt the final authority on truth, and in fact, VERY far from it. Truth: Naproxen can hurt your stomach, lead to Ulcers and perforation. The longer you take it, the higher the dose, the higher the risk. Truth: Many people take Naproxen for YEARS w/o any stomach ills.
