Percocet vs vicodin drug test

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet vs vicodin drug test

percocet

I am trying to take only 10 percocet a day and survive. WHat does 10 percocet equate to in terms of ES vicodin? I am having some pretty nasty nausea at night and heart palpitations and nausea dizzyness. I have cut down overnight from 14 to 15 pills daily to 10 pills daily and it is causing me some of the nastiest withdrawal I have ever had yet from it. I think I tried to taper off to quick, but in the past I have never had to taper like this.
8) I sought out information on non narcotic preventice medicines 9) I sought out ,found, and stay in touch with support groups such as Narcotics Anonymous.I realized that a drug is a drug. Addiction to Vicodin is as bad as addiction to pot, heroin or coke. The choice of drug is the only differance. Sorry to ramble on, May 16th, 2000 will be one year for me with no pain meds. It has been extremly painful at times. But life on life terms in the realm of reality is great.

Answer: 10 years Question: Was it percocet? Answer: Originally vicodin and then tylenol/codeine Question: Did you just wake up one day and say, ''THAT'S IT!?" Answer: Yes, in the middle of my taper I just stopped taking pills. Question: Do you know if there is some type of out patient program that works maybe faster? Answer: I think this varies by your area. My HMO wouldn't take me. I think this Forum is better than any program I could have attended.
/The other important issue here is the fact that there is nothing wrong with using Ultram or opiates (codeine, Vicodin, Percocet, etc.) if you have a chronic pain problem and are not abusing your medications by taking more than is prescribed, getting it from more than one doctor, etc. Chronic pain patients sometimes do become physically addicted to their medicines. This will happen even if you take the prescribed amount for a long enough time on a daily basis.
In general people who are prescribed painkillers are given oxys if the vicodin or percocet doesnt kill the pain without taking a large amount of them.
I've been taking about 6 Vicodin a day for over & year & now I'm out. What will the withdrawal be like? Anything I can do as far as over the counter products or easy to obtain herbal or natural remedies? Please answer fast.
Usually when you go in for testing you are questioned about what prescription meds you take, so if you listed the percocet, it wouldn't count as an illicit chemical on your test. Also, the percocet is short-acting, so the level in your urine may have been too low for detection at the time you took the test.
Tramadol is a weak opioid receptor agonist, and it also causes the release of serotonin and it inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine (very similar to the antidepressant Effexor). The metabolites of Tramadol hit selective opioid receptors as well. Some states HAVE chosen to make it a schedule IV controlled substance, and I DO believe more states are following suit.
I ran into serious problems with a percocet type drug as well.I also had some very strange reactions to this medication ie bowels; tongue; pins and needles etc.I hope you make the right decisions regarding your condition at this point.I have to go to a clinic when I finish tapering off a little bit more. This is something I dread doing and its all because I was not looking where I was going.I fell in a hole tore a tendon had surgery got addicted to oxycontin and now I just feel terrible.
Then the addict associated the RELIEF of th pain to the drug instead of the drug being the CAUSE of the pain. SOoooooooo what to do? Break the cycle. Many have to hit bottom to do that. That's the point where the pain of using overwhelms the relief of using. It's an emotional point which is different for different people. Not every one has to hit a bottom to quit. The sooner you quit the less pain and suffering you have to experience.
I read on the Internet that Paxil (or any SSRI drug) can cause a spike in blood pressure and possibly a stroke when mixed with Methadone. My doctor is now recommending Effexor in place of Paxil. Isn't Effexor also an SSRI? and to your knowledge, does it pose significant risk(s) when taken with Methadone? If so, is there an anti-depressant that can be safely used with Methadone?
20ish or so, I went and got my morning pill from Claire per usual (just to have it, BUT I ended up taking it too)… The pain diminished immensely of course. Again, whom am I kidding – I also have been taking a 7.5 vicodin in between my allotted percocet pill times since Day 1 of this ‘weaning process’ BUT I haven’t told anyone that, nor will I at this point… IF I can’t even go down to 3 of the strong 10 mg percs a day without issue, how the hell and I going to go down to half strength, etc???
Hi, My daughter, 19, had her wisdom teeth out a few weeks ago. She was given vicodin 50, 1-2 every 4-6 as needed for pain. She found 1 was not enough and was taking 2 every 6 hours. She ended up with complications and an extended recovery and pain, so the Dr. gave her a new script. We asked for 75 as 50 wasn't working and 2 x 50 (100) was too much, making her really high and sleepy.
I didnt realize how much I had changed since taking this drug Vicodin The money that I spent on this **** is crazy I am slowly getting back to who I once was,the person and family member that everyone loves There are too many VICO-VAMPIRES eager to sell you these for 3-5dollars per pill. I love who I am and had wondered who I was had gone I shut out everyone and was just Happy being in my bedroom. I lost my Supervisor position that I had for 4 years making 40,000.00 per year.
The urine tests he takes, he tests only to seem if for instance, you are prescribed Percocet as a breakthrough med and you take a couple of Vicodin if you run out. They test for the levels of what you are supposed to be one vs what you have taken, Was on methadone for years....it got to where even the high does did not help so I chose to "self medicate" with herbal meds. I was scared to death but he either did not test for that or he does not care.
Hi, I'm sorry this post is long, but I'm trying to give as many details as possible. I am a 28 yo RN who has had a history of MANY kidney stones. I've had 4-5 stents placed (always on the LEFT side) and a lithotripsy. I have stones on both sides, but the left always seems to be where I run into problems. My first episode was when I was about 19 years old.
OMG!
Tramadol is listed as a non-narcotic and I have heard some horrible stories about the drug and it's effects. Vicodin is a narcotic and in my opinion, has better pain relief than the Tramadol. Both are addictive. Please discuss this with your Doctor when you see him in 2 weeks. He is the best qualified to make that decision. Take care and good luck in the future.
This thread is full of helpful and kind people who want to help you get off this terrible drug. Please snuggle in and make yourself comfy. I know you can do it!
Actually oxycodone plain is a category B drug. If it is buffered with tylenol it increases the effects of the drug itself and Percocet(oxycodone w acetaminophen) and Vicodin(buffered) with acetaminophen is a Category C drug. There has been animal studies on Rats, New Zealand Rabbits and Lambs who were pregnant and given double the normal dosage and no fetal abnormalities to date have been detected. There is neonatal withdrawl if you take it up until the delivery date.
for any who are concerned about not having a pain relief thats equal or as effective as vicodin or percocet, ther are other options.
I just had to have a drug test last month givent that I was changing companies. I work in the financial industry which is extremely strict in its insistance upone a drug-free workplace. I have also been abusing hydrocodone for 6 months, was also taking Dilaudid and percocets, and a small amount of diazepam (valium). Needless to say, I was a bit nervous as to how this issue.
The length of time withdrawal symptoms occur can range from a couple of days to weeks depending on how high your dose was and how long you were on the drug. Withdrawal symptoms can be reduced by discontinuing use of the drug slowly (i.e., gradually reducing the daily dose). Tramadol is more complex than other opiate and opiate-like medications because it also appears to have actions on the GABAergic, noradrenergic, and serotonergic systems in the brain.
My PCP took me off the Vicodin soon as he became aware of the blood test results and put me on Oxycontin 20 mg. My PCP had not prescribed the Vicodin my Orthopedist did. This all took place in October 2008. I have had two more surgeries since then and I am still on Oxycontin 20mg, once a day and I also take Percocet 5/325 once or twice a day as needed. This is a much lower dosage than what you are currently taking and I get run down so I can imagine how you feel. You are taking Oxy 20mg.
they know the test THEY use better than anyone including the manifestation of opiate sensitivity. drug testing is very subject to error by test and the human factor. i would want proof positive in my hand.
my doctors think I'm some horrible drug addict so they have told me when I go to the hospital they WILL drug test me. Please don't anyone look down on me, or lecture me about what I've done. Believe me, I feel like the biggest loser and piece of sh** on the planet. I feel like an awful mother, and thank god that the ultrasounds I've had so far have shown that my baby is normal. Anyhow, I just don't know what to do to ease my mind at this point.
It's not like they are going into a back alley somewhere and buying this from drug dealers. They also appear to monitor the amount and usage. I don't think people can just go to a doctor and ask for it, either. They appear to have to have a legitimate medical reason. I see a lot of fear out there on this and am wondering why.
I stick with it because I was tired of going to my doctor, hat in hand, and asking him to increase my daily dose of the drug. I stick with it because I no longer desire to be under the control of a substance that wanted more than I had to give, while returning less and less to me. ETC. ETC. ETC." Gah! Threw all my forks away too Fred. Tramadol is a terrible drug. Thank you so much for your kind message for me! It helps :D And yes, pain in places I never have had paiin before.
