I have been off Percocet since Apr except when another stupid new injury arises. I was never addicted just physically addicted! My latest injury is slip disc herniated disc and degenerative disc all in low back. Its with some type of compression nerves and muscles. Anyway my question is ER gave me flexiral for spasms and 30 5mg of Percocet. I only will take them as needed or as prescribed. Will this amount cause me have withdrawal again. Original i was extremely naive.
It is a quality of life situation, as I am disabled as a result of it. I am currently taking Percocet 7.5/500; however do not want a pain medication with tylenol. I am on another medication that is hard on the liver, so it is important that I stop this. My pain is also more resistant because of an arthritis component. Could anyone tell me what would be one step up from the Percocet that contains no tylenol.

Hello, I am tapering off of a 2 year habit that got up to 9 30mg roxicodone a day. I am six months in to a slow taper and had gotten down to 3 15mg roxicodone a day. That is I am down from 270mg a day to 45 mg a day. I have decided to switch to Hydrocodone (this was what I was originally prescribed 5 years ago). Here is my problem. I cannot get through the day on 45 mg of Hydro quiet yet. I feel like I have back slid but the hydro just feels useless to withdrawal compared to the roxi.
Recently, my Pain Management doctor doubled my medication to 30mg Roxicodone, six per day which has greatly reduced my pain however I still experience times of break through pain, normally a few hours a day prior to my next dosage. Being that Roxicodone is an instant release drug (I did not find MS Contin or Oxycontin effective - plus had nausea and tolerance issues), I do not know how to approach my doctor and ask for something for breakthrough pain.
Roxicodone is a brand; oxycodone is the generic. I'm not sure if roxicodone has Tylenol in it (Percocet does; oxycodone does not.)
I don't find morphine helpful for my pain. It also gave me a constant, dull headache, which wouldn't go away with ibuprofen or Tylenol.
Oxycodone works best for my pain. I gave up the long-acting meds totally for a number of reasons. I may use them again but for now, I'm okay with the oxycodone and other non-narcotic things.

I am on a very high dose of methadone and my doctor said that it does not hurt my liver. However I am also on a high dose of roxicodone and my doctor said that is harmful to the liver.I would appreciate any input.

Is there any way that you can get percocet instead of roxys because u can get 10mg percs and taper down with those a little easier than u can with roxys because u will know exactly how much u r taking with a perc rather than breaking up a roxy and that way instead of taking 15 two times a day u could take 10 3 times a day so it's not spreadbout so far between doses that us what I would start with if I was doin it so say you r takin 75 a day now u can go to 70 with the percs and take it 7 tim
This is about my husband. Over a year ago, he was prescribed Oxycodone (or roxicodone?) 15 mg (the kind without the tylenol) for an accident he was in. He hasnt been on that for awhile, but still has some left from before. About 3 months ago, he got prescribed the regular percocet 10mg for cronic pain. They drug test you every month there and he goes this week.

They are two different drugs. Hydrocodone is the generic of Vicodin. Oxyxodone is the same as Percocet without the Tylenol xomponent. I can't take hydrocodone due to itching. It's extreme, the itching is all over including itching in my ears and nose. Oxycodone is also stronger than Vicodin.

well i did not know i was pregant and i started to take roxicodone, when i found out i wantd to stop, but i read that stopping is worse. I was not taking a large amount but enough to feel the side effects of not having them.... I have read that methadone is pretty safe, so i decided to take it while i go through the detox also i felt if i needed a pain reliver that methadone would be the better choice, i have bad back pain due to a car accident...
