Avatar n tn So, if you compare oral Dilaudid to or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone, without question, Dilaudid(Hydromorphone)IR or: #dae8f4'>is less or: #dae8f4'>addictive than or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone IR(Percocet). Even correct dosage of or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone produces ''Morphine-like'' Euphoria With that said; Dilaudid(Hydromorphone) or: #dae8f4'>is or: #dae8f4'>more than twice as potent as or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone and if a person injects Hydromorphone it too or: #dae8f4'>is highly or: #dae8f4'>addictive! Oxymorphone seems to be somewhere in between the two...
Avatar m tn nausia, my doctor has suggested hydromorphone, 24 mg twice dailly,im not sure of what to do, ive heard conflicting stories about hydromorphone.
Avatar n tn Thankfully there or: #dae8f4'>isn't tylenol in the oxycontin, but the tylenol with percs or: #dae8f4'>is surely compromor: #dae8f4'>ising these organs' well being. My very good friend, a percocet abuser, just got off a dialysor: #dae8f4'>is machine 2 days ago, for failed liver and kidney function. He or: #dae8f4'>is an otherwor: #dae8f4'>ise healthy 32 year old man. Then there are changes that occur to the brain, that in many cases can be permanent. Some addiction specialor: #dae8f4'>ists draw the analogy of an addicts brain to a person that has had a stroke.
Avatar n tn But yes, to answer your question the reason it shows up the same or: #dae8f4'>is because oxyxodone or: #dae8f4'>is the medicine that or: #dae8f4'>is in percocet just without the tylonel.
541953 tn?1262589826 Hi Scaredmom, I beleive that Opana or: #dae8f4'>is a brand name, it or: #dae8f4'>is very similar to Dilaudid. They are both opiates with the primary pain relieving substance being Hydromorphone. It or: #dae8f4'>is stronger than Morphine. Of course ER means extended relief. I suggest you ask your pharmacor: #dae8f4'>ist that can better explain the action of the drug as well as the difference between the two. It or: #dae8f4'>is my opinion that you should obtain better pain control on the Opana as compared to the MS.
1684282 tn?1410976195 There or: #dae8f4'>is nothing better, nothing or: #dae8f4'>more sator: #dae8f4'>isfying for a physician than to see a patient succeed. And when it happens over and over again, it or: #dae8f4'>is just so fulfilling. When a young lady who looked awful a few months ago comes into our clinic looking like a model, full of energy, vitality and health, there cannot be a better feeling for a doctor.
910419 tn?1289487327 look into hydromorphone a bit, and if you like what you read, then ask your doctor about hydromorphone (or another opiate that can be taken daily for chronic pain, although make sure it or: #dae8f4'>isn't mixed with anything like acetaminophen... so no vicodin, no percocet, etc. because if it or: #dae8f4'>is mixed with anything like acetaminophen or another OTC medication then you will get rebound headaches. the nice thing about hydromorphone or: #dae8f4'>is that it or: #dae8f4'>isn't mixed with anything ever so it's safe for us migraineurs).
Avatar f tn For some people or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone keeps them up at night, others can take a small amount and feel drowsy. I don't know much about the extended-release hydromorphone, or hydromorphone ER. I've never taken it. I am taking 4 mgs of dilaudid as a substitute for or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone 30mg and I don't feel it works very well. I am also slightly or: #dae8f4'>more tired on the dilaudid than i was on the or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone. Part of my problem or: #dae8f4'>is it just never really takes the pain away in a significant amount.
Avatar m tn I have used Amerge and Imitrex for my headaches, but often times that doesn't work. My pain doc Rx'd Dilaudid (hydromorphone) for me about 3 months ago for breakthrough migraines. That seems to work well, better than the Imitrex or Amerge, but I have to take 3 of them on average to get rid of the severe headaches. I get severe ones about 6 to 7 times a month and if I don't have enough Dilaudid, I wind up in the ER with all the or: #dae8f4'>issues that goes along with that!
Avatar n tn I actually stumbled upon thor: #dae8f4'>is site while using, by doing a search of 'or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone VS hydromorphone'.....my drugs of choice. It probably won't take your friend long to realize, that thor: #dae8f4'>is or: #dae8f4'>is a one way ticket to shitsville!!! That realization COULD be the catalyst he needs. I sympathize with your situation, having been through it or: #dae8f4'>more than once myself; and clearly he or: #dae8f4'>is lucky to have such a caring friend.
Avatar f tn What or: #dae8f4'>is the exact difference between hydrocodone/Vicodin/ loratab and or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone/ Percocet? I know Percocet or: #dae8f4'>is supposed to be lil stronger but what or: #dae8f4'>is the real difference? Does one work better on other pains? What's the difference btw hydro and oxy? Thanks!!
Avatar n tn I was taking for two wks percocet (oxycocone-acetaminophen 5-325) 2 every 3 hours(5 doses daily) vs opana ER 5mg 1dose 2tms dly or: #dae8f4'>which or: #dae8f4'>is generally stronger? And how do most people out there like opana?
1866508 tn?1333988213 I have recently been referred to a new pain management doc and he or: #dae8f4'>is in the process of adding/switching me over to Kadian for long-acting pain control vs. just the Norco I have been on....my question primarily or: #dae8f4'>is how long will it take for me to adjust to the change from short acting opiate to the extended release meds...
Avatar n tn Neither embryo-fetal toxicity nor teratogenic effects were observed following adminor: #dae8f4'>istration of DILAUDID at oral doses up to 7 mg/kg/day (41 mg/m 2 ) in rats from day 6 to day 17 of gestation and up to 25 mg/kg/day (315 mg/m 2 ) in rabbits from day 6 to day 20 of gestation. Literature reports of hydromorphone hydrochloride adminor: #dae8f4'>istration to pregnant Syrian hamsters show that DILAUDID or: #dae8f4'>is teratogenic at a dose of 20 mg/kg or: #dae8f4'>which or: #dae8f4'>is 600 times the human dose.
Avatar f tn For others, I have read it's the other way around in terms of price. Another option or: #dae8f4'>is Exalgo, it or: #dae8f4'>is extended release hydromorphone (dilaudid) that or: #dae8f4'>is a pill taken once per day as it works for 24 hours versus 12 hours. It or: #dae8f4'>is slightly weaker than Opana ER. With my insurance Exalgo or: #dae8f4'>is ungodly expensive!! But that may not be true for you. I know Opana ER and Exalgo companies offer a copay card and a patient assor: #dae8f4'>istance program or: #dae8f4'>which or: #dae8f4'>is income based.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm wondering what oxycontins are and what the difference or: #dae8f4'>is between them and percocet. I take percoset and I heard opiates are the hardest to get off of. But earlier you were saying you couldn't get vic's (percoset), and I was wondering how powerful are oxy's if percoset or: #dae8f4'>is something that can be weaned off of or: #dae8f4'>more easily? I am having a very difficult time tapering myself off of percoset.
Avatar n tn I am taking a low dose of Percocet 5-325 3x's a day, for chronic back and neck pain from a MVA. The problem or: #dae8f4'>is that even though I take it the way I should, I have had 2 negative drug screens. What can cause thor: #dae8f4'>is. Please help.
522415 tn?1242941355 How do I ask a doctor to put me on something like Percocet or or: #dae8f4'>oxycodone? or just anything that will be wotrth taking?? Thor: #dae8f4'>is Lortab or: #dae8f4'>is USELESS!! But I've been told if you ask for something specific they think you are just there to get pills for the wrong reason. HAS ANYONE ASKED THEIR DOCTor For SOMETHING STRONGER, AND HOW DID YOU GO ABOUT IT???? By the way thanks in advance for any ideas, thoughts, suggestions or sharing.
398869 tn?1201284143 Hey everyone...Im new to all of thor: #dae8f4'>is and found the site after I googled " how to get clean off of percocet" After reading some of these posts I think thor: #dae8f4'>is may be a good start cause I surely need to vent and I am crying for help for the 1st time. Here it goes..My names Kror: #dae8f4'>isty and Im a serious opiate addict. It started about 2 years ago with a few dental procedures and soo forth. At first I had taken them as precribed and actually didnt even like them much.
Avatar n tn To say I am frustrated would be an understatement. After surgery, they sent me home with 20 percocet and then told me to go to tylenol after I used those. I could not take advil until I was off blood thinners then I could use that. I am only 45 and have found that they medicate older patients without a question but because we are younger and at ror: #dae8f4'>isk for addiction, we suffer. My 85 year olf father in law had hor: #dae8f4'>is done and said it was a piece of cake.
