OK, here's the "strange one" of the group. I have taken Vicodin for 4 years. It only makes me "grumpy" at the end of a day when I have over done my limitations and I am hurting and absolutely nothing works to ease my pain. My family knows when it's one of those evenings and they are kind enough to leave me alone and let me be a "B" all by myself. I don't even want to be around anyone. But those days are not often.

I am on week one treating type A and feeling really bad side effects. I feel almost ready to do something drastic. I called the psychologist at the clinic and she said that the side effects are worse in the first week. Is this true? Or am I looking at 48wks of feeling so sick I can hardly walk and feeling like my head is going to explode never mind the crazy emotional stuff talk about the blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don;t know if I can even tolerate this.

My wife takes 5mg percocet (as prescribed) for chronic pain daily...she has noticed a marked decrease in her vision since doing so and I'd like to know if any users have had similar reactions..she only has vision in one eye anyway and doesn't need to jeopordize that. Of course her doctor told her "no" and also haze her taking Ibuprofin...she was talking to the pharmacist earlier today who told her DON'T DO THAT...

Mine was way too fast and I have really suffered. I did the percocet withdrawal first as well but the Effexor made the percocet withdrawals look like a piece of cake.

Gabapentin is a drug that has many adverse side effects. I would question the sanity of any physician that prescribed gabapentin to help with percocet withdrawals. But that's just me. Go to the PDR (physician's desk reference) and look up the established side effects of gabapentin.

That being said I would look up the medications on line, find the side effects from each, and find the side effects from the combination you are on. Some are minor and some are not. That is the only reason I would look up the side effects is to find out which side effects that are red flags and need to be adressed immediately.

And like raven said... Even if your baby appears to be healthy a birth.. Most side effects of drug abuse during pregnancy are not notice until toddler stage and up. Its effects them more mentally then physically. I'll keep your baby in my prayers.

I had a c section with my first and they gave me percocet because it was safe for breastfeeding mothers. If you're uneasy about it, just ask what the possible side effects in yourself and your baby are. And then ask about the likelihood of those side effects, you know, how often they occur. Then weigh the pros and cons and make an educated decision. And you can always fill the Rx and just hold on to it in case regular Tylenol doesn't help.

After reading all the post about pregnancy and percocet,I am scared sh**less,I've read that u can't take them during ur first trimester but u can during ur second? Why is that? my ob knows I'm taking them but I'm still worried.

I read that the films are 30% stronger?could that be a reason? Also, I got scared/tired of the side effects and got my percocet prescription filled and now worried that I might get in trouble? But I have also read that a person can get suboxones filled and their pain meds filled, is this true? And what about being being put on subitex, could it be the naxolone giving me the bad side effects? Thank you for your time!

I was so irritable all the time. All I could do was stay in bed. I realized these were all side effects of this patch. The side effects of the patch so adversely effected my life I decided to take it off one night. I went through a detox like you'd never imagine. I had hallucinations, vomitting etc. I had no idea what I had done. I put the patch back on, and weened myself off of it over the next two weeks. I just couldn't live that way.

Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?

I am sorry I am not much of help on this subject. I only had percocet prescribe to me after my c-section. My doctor knew I was going to nurse, so I can't imagine that they would have given me something that would have harmed my baby through nursing. I am not sure if this is the same with being pregnant. But like you said, your doctor would not doing anything to harm your baby. Is this something you would take daily or just as needed?
