Is it safe to take 800mg ibuprofen & 650mg Percocet (each pill 325mg) together at once?
I was given percocet 10/325 for pain for surgery and was told to take 1 - 1 1/2 pills every 4-5 hours. I'm opiate tolerant but 15mg every 4-5 hours seems like a lot. Also I have percocet 7.5/325 that says I can take 2 every 3-4 hours. Is this posing any possible over dose problems or health problem? This will only be taken for a short amount of time.No more than 2 weeks. Any advise on the saftey of this would be appreciated.
I have been taking vicodin ES 750mg 90 tablets a month for the past 2 years I have chronic pain due to my bad knees. I was recently switched over to the percocet 5/325 my body was becoming tollerant to the vicodin to the point where they were not relieving the pain anymore. I had the same reaction with the percocet where I had to take 2-3 at once.
My Dad was recently put on oxycontin- short term- for hip pain. He is having surgery next week. My Mom called telling me that Dad was having to concentrate on his breathing, was dizzy and having problems concentrating. I told her to bring him to the hospital. I will be leaving to meet them but I thought that these were all signs of a overdose. I really haven't had these signs when I was abusing so I am not sure. Can anyone enlighten me?
There is a new Oxycontin on the market. You should not cut any type of long-acting medication. Oxycontin is a long-acting medication and thus you shouldn't ever cut it because you can die of an overdose. The new pill is more tamper-proof. Please be careful. Yes, the 80mg. tablet is an extended release pill that releases medication over a 12 hour period. Can you talk to your doctor about the questions that you have? Are you prescribed oxycodone?

Percocet, Vicodin have Acetametophen which taking to many more then 10 a day can kill you.
s response. I am on 30 mg of morphine sulfate ER twice a day with up to 35 mg of percocet a day for breakthrough pain (about to switch to Opana ER tomorrow...maybe). I have taken the max of 35 mg of percocet in one day before along with 60 mg of morphine sulfate ER.
For the record, I do not get any euphoria symptoms as the meds are too busy fighting the pain, and I do not abuse my medication. After approximately 6 years on the Percocet, it is time to go up a notch. Thanks so much for your feedback.

I'm just guessing here, but isn't it in general a bad idea to give a person *instructions* on how to overdose on a particular medication? Bixby didn't say, "My doctor has me taking x mg of this medication. Could that be too close to toxicity levels?" Bixby asked how many mg of that medication, alone or in combination with another drug, would cause an OD. Am I alone on this? Doesn't this set off alarms for anyone else?!
I ahve taken 10/325 percocet for years and recently my doctor has put me on fentanyl patches. She told me to try 1 25mg and if no help then apply 2 to total 50mg. I am wondering if I will suffer withdrawls from the change? Iknow it takes a while for the patches to get into your system, will I suffer w/d symptoms during this time?
I don't know if this is the right place to post this question, but here goes. My brother died from drug overdose on 2/16/09. Autopsy was performed & I just got word that the cause of death has been determined. Acute combined intoxication of alprazolam w/oxycodone. Alprazolam found in his system was 0.46 mcg & oxycodone was 0.19 mcg. He was taking Xanax for anxiety disorder, but had no script for oxycodone.

Over a year ago I took a overdose of BP meds along with alcohol which landed me in the hospitol. I had been seeing a PCP for 4 yrs prior for neck and shoulder injurys, he had me on percocet 7.5/500. When I went for my appt. I honestly told the NP what happened, I was immediately taken off pain meds, told to get counseling with notes brought to them and I have not been able to recieve a pain med since.
What are your current thyroid hormone levels? Be sure to post reference ranges with results, since ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. You should be getting tested periodically for TSH, Free T3 and Free T4. Do you have other symptoms of over medication, such as weight loss, diarrhea, tremors, etc. Do you have Hashimoto's?
hello: 5 months ago my mother 52 years old had a breast mastectomy ,gladly she needed no chemeoterapy nor radioterapy.. she has a lupus systemic followed by a shurgen she takes for it salargen.. about the cancer she's only taken percocet and eltarol as pain releases.The mastectomy is followed by a reconsrtuction with a salt water ballon which is filled each month, the treatment is going very well ,however she had an hormonal change i'm not quite sure why.
t willing to do that then ask (nicely!) for some medication for breakthrough pain (instant release, or fast acting) such as percocet, oxycodone, vicoden, etc. I like oxycodone for breakthru pain the best because there is no tylenol in it to worry about. Quick release morphine is also a very effective fast acting painkiller.
Definitely discuss this with your doctor, and tell him/her exactly what you took. Sometimes, the doctor can also give you a prescription for pain medication for your tooth while you wait to see the dentist. You need to be careful with combining medications as some contain other drugs (for example, Nyquil usually contains acetaminophen (tylenol). You can overdose without realizing it by taking tylenol and Nyquil together. Good luck and hopefully you can get your tooth taken care of sooner.
Can a baby overdose off of hydrocodone, oxycodone , or Roxycodone through breast milk if the mother takes the right dosage, or slightly more, only once a day and not everyday. If he breastfeeds while its in the mothers system, is sleepiness a sign of overdosing? If so, can l the overdose possibly death happen after the mother is no longer on medication?

You should never double up on medication when you miss doses, due to the risk of overdose. Since synthroid takes a long time (weeks) get into/out of your blood, you should be okay for this time, but if it happens again, don't try to make up missed doses; just start taking your med daily, like you normally would.
The increased risks with larger doses are mainly related to the increased potential for maternal overdose and physical dependence that can occur in both the mother and the baby. Excessive doses can slow breathing in the mother, which may reduce oxygen delivery to the fetus. Reduced oxygen delivery to the fetus can result in a range of problems up to and including brain damage and fetal death.
