I am 23 years old. I just graduated college and am currently looking for a full time job. Throughout my life, I have messed around with different drugs, dipped and dabbled, yet nothing ever compared to the opiates for me. It all began when I was around 17, I had my tonsils removed. I knew from that moment on that I had loved the feeling it gave me. From about 17-22 I was on and off, never considered myself an "addict." I thought to myself, how could this be?
Suboxone has been used safely in both pregnancy and nursing and as long as you nurse your baby, s/he should not go through the withdrawals. Baby will wean slowly with you as you gently taper while nursing or when s/he weans down from nursing.
Do communicate with your doctor or midwife so that you are on the same page. So, to reiterate, as long as you are nursing, the baby will not go into withdrawals. Good luck to you and my best wishes.
I'm 8 wks PG and have started having bad headaches and migraines. Tylenol isn't working so the Dr. prescribed percocet. I'm a little hesistant to take it but figure my Dr. wouldn't prescribe it if it wasn't safe. Has anyone else had this prescribed to them for pain? Did you have any side effects while taking it?

Anyone that's already had their baby, what can you take for migraine while breast feeding? Besides Tylenol it's worthless. I've had this migraine since Thursday and I don't want to go to quick care, they'll give me a morphine shot and idk If it's safe while nursing? Any advice is appreciated I know I'm in the wrong place but nobody answers the bf forum...
Omg I am soo sorry! I have chronic mastitis problems when nursing. Do not stop nursing on that side though because your milk will continue to build. Put a warm towel on the clotted area and try to dangle feed your little one. Basically lay your baby down and straddle your boob over the mouth to let gravity help. If you have a fever and feel flush your clit has turned to full blown mastitis and you may need antibiotics to help.
My mom is an RN and has also had problems with prescription medications for years now. She didnt work for 5-6years during her worst times,struggling with a back injury, depression, bi-polar and other various problems. Shes started back up about 2yrs ago after getting her meds right, tons of therapy and counseling, but now she happy as Ive seen her now thats shes nursing again.
This way, by your third trimester or certainly by the time of the delivery both you and the baby are clean and ready to start healthy bonding and nursing.
The OB/midwife will also be there to guide you though good prenatal care, healthy nutrition, smoking cessation, etc..

All I can think about is how wonderful it would be to have a percocet right now. Being alone, and not working is brutal. I am going to school, but it isn't enough for me right now. I am extremely bored, and depressed. Is this normal to feel so depressed while going through this? By the way, my Thanksgiving dinner didn't stay in my stomach very long. I tried to eat, due to the fact that I my 22 year old daughter made the dinner herself. I didn't want her to feel bad.
I stopped taking Percocet 9 days Ago after 1-1/2 yrs of Usage. I took 10/325 like 8 times a day to keep up with Nursing School (what a SHAME). I decided that I want to be a good Nurse and Not use this Stuff anymore. I feel My heart rate up when ever Im doing anything around the House or any extertion. Also, Anxiety Got a tiny bit better, but is still there. I miss My husband more than ever....even if he goes to work, I feel this sick feeling that he is gone.
Take those pain meds. Your body will tell you when you're done! I had percocet for ~3 weeks post delivery (but I had a staph infection) so your body will tell you. But congrats!!! I've wondered about you and how you're doing! My little guy is 3 months now...and I hope to be heading back to nursing school soon!
(Although I realize my dad is not an easy patient). They also gave him percocet at the same time for his shoulder that hurts him (rather than tylenol). My question is, should I be concerned? Just I be aggressive and try to make the doctor and staff not give these sedative meds to my dad? I heard that xanax decreases the central nervous system and can slow stroke recovery. (he gets some therapy everyday.) Thanks for your input.

m percocet addict so I sure do understand the hold these devils have on a person. Its like heroin in pill if you ask me. I can't believe it but I've been off them a year and you can do it too! I think you should be completely honest with your doctor. He will understand, not be shocked and will help you through this. He cannot write your condition on a sick note because it violates doctor patient confidentiality laws . Its strickly between you and him. Don't be scared.
I don`t know if percocet is like darvecet by the physical part took a good week to get past cold turkey. The mental part is alittle harder. but you can definatley do this!! Today is day 48 for me and this site will help you ALOT!
I'm I having withdrawl or not I stopped taking percocet 40 hrs ago and lying in bed tonight my hands and shoulders were aching so bad I was tossing and turning I got up and took 2 10's Percocet and 1 10 Oxycontin and now I'll spend the rest of the night in my recliner , The question is, is my pain a reaction to stopping the Percocet . I've gone through this time and time again only to have the pain over whelm me .

I have been trying to get off percocet. It started out bu just taking it here and there. But now I am up to 8-10 a day and Its all I think about. I buy off the strret. My doctor doesn't even know. I spend about 500 a month. I want to stop but just don't know where to begin. i feel so depressed that Ive let myself get addicted and I just wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions?
