Avatar n tn I hope you continue to do well on the lyrica and get ample pain relief from the nerve pain you have. I also deal with a lot of nerve pain and I know that it can be very painful and difficult to tolerate at times. Keep in touch and if you have any more questions, I will be more than happy to try to help!
Avatar n tn Traumatic brachial neuropathy is a painful condition and in some patients even after painkiller medicines pain is present. You should consult a pain management clinic with anaesthesiologist for TCNS therapy and epidural analgesia.visit this website also : http://www.drnathbrachialplexus.
Avatar f tn Your doctor needs to perscribe you a long acting pain medication instead of a short acting medication like percocet so you get better pain control. I understand your pain. Nothing is worse than nerve pain. Hope this helps some what. try to take the reccomended daily dose your doctor perscribes so you dont run out. It also helps to change pain medications every 6 months so you don't build up a tolerance to them. This is documented in research by the top pain specialists.
Avatar f tn Hi Nervepainj. :) First, I'd like to add my Welcome with Tuck's and Mary camel's to our PM (Pain Management) Forum here on the MH (MedHelp) Community. As Tuck said, marycamel was, as always, correct on with some of the meds that might be able to help you with your neuropathy. Tuck definitely can tell you about all of the different neuropathy medications out there as she, like many others on MH, has been battling problems with neuropathy for numerous years.
Avatar m tn Lyrica is for nerve pain, percocet and other pain meds usually wont help nerve pain.
Avatar f tn My dr prescribed norco 10/325 2x aday and percocet 10/325 2xday for herniated disc and pinched sciatic nerve but didn say how to take it...have called him but havn't had a return call...Please help!!!
Avatar f tn an opiate is not the main medication for treatment. Most patients are on a nerve pain medication like Lyrica, Neurontin, or Cymbalta. These target specific nerve pain which is your main source of pain with the herniated discs and sciatic nerve pain. An opiate does not work well for this. Same thing with having a muscle relaxer to take as needed. Flexeril, Skelaxin, Robaxin, Baclofen, or Zanaflex. This is very useful for those times with bad muscle spasms... Again...
Avatar f tn Deb, Have you tried Lyrica yet? Recently approved for Fibromyalgia. Fortunately, I do not have that condition, but I do have nerve pain and it worked wonders. Probably reduced my pain level from about an 8 to about a 3. Thus far I have not had any side effects from it. Ever since my doctor put me on it, I want to shout the the world! Just a thought you can take to your doctor....
Avatar m tn I am seeing a pain management physician and have tried nerve stimulator, pain patchs and percoset. Currently I am using the knee patches but feel like the long term use of percoset is causing me to have other health problems, i.e. ?liver damage, erectile dysfunction, etc. I feel I can't function on my job without the percoset and am wondering whether a nerve block or total knee replacement is an option?
922573 tn?1304099329 Right after the surgery I was on oxycontin twice a day with percocet for breakthrough pain. After a few weeks, I asked to be taken off the oxycontin because I didn't want to be on anything long term. I have remained on percocet for breakthrough, and now only take it twice a day. I thought that after I healed from the last surgery that the pain would go away.
Avatar n tn i have been taking percocets daily for nerve damage in my face. well i was late for my period and figured it was just my body adjusting to the pain killers. i was wrong, i just found out that im pregnant today, probably 8 -10 weeks. is it possible percocets harm in my babies developement? i havent been to the docs yet cuz i just took the test an hour ago. Avatar m tn today is day 22 off of Percocet, I am about to go to the doctor, I have no desire to get anything narcotic for my pain(herniated discs w/ nerve impingement)........can anyone recommend any non-narcotic/non-habit forming pain medication? I do not want to go through w/d's again......I learned first-hand that taking percocet, as directed for over a year(7.5/325 every 4 hours)can still get you addicted even if you're not abusing it .
429432 tn?1343594190 I was prescribed Robaxin today because I might have pulled a muscle in my back or a pinched nerve or something, we won't know 'til the x-ray results come back. Is Robaxin addictive at all?
Avatar f tn My daughter since she was a toddler has had loose joints and could "pop out" her hip, knee, ankle, wrist, finger joints. Now at 18 years she has been having excruciating pain in her left hip with it frequently "popping out" and causing her to fall. An orthopedist was giving her steroid shots into the hip area where the nerve is and giving her Percocet which doesn't even help at all.
Avatar f tn Hi, My husband is a 36 year old type 1 diabetic for 29 years. He has been on the pump for about 8 years. He woke Sunday with severe pain down his left leg, in his left wrist, and in his chest (he said it felt like he had pulled a muscle under his right pectoral). He was limping and said he felt like he had fallen out of a tree or been in a car accident. He is an ex smoker of only about a year. I feared he was having a heart attack. We went to ER - his blood pressure was very low - 80/55.
1187071 tn?1279369698 The second question regarding steroid injections for nerve pain I have to answer the same way that Molly has, they have never been very effective for me. As you have heard I also know others that have had wonderful success with these injections. In my opinion much depends on the condition, the skill of the practitioner, the location of the pain and how your body responds. I took the chance that it would work.
Avatar f tn Percocet is in Category C for affects on the baby. You probably already know the following, but just in case: What is Category C? Category C Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. https://www.drugs.com/pregnancy-categories.html https://www.rxlist.com/percocet-drug.
Avatar n tn I had nerve pain and burning for many months after my csection. some were quick, some were lasting. every layer and every nerve was cut through... it takes some time for them to heal.

Avatar f tn The pain is almost unbarable even with percocet 10/325 in my system. The pain meds seem to wear off about an 2 hours after I take them. I just want to know if the pain i am experiencing is normal for my condition.
