Avatar n tn Thanks, I guess he's going to see his local dr. this week and explain the situation, I know he'll make it so that he gets the Tramadol which quite frankly if it works for him and he's not in pain and not a jerk then fine! Right now, he's taking Percocet but not the Flexeril or Naproxen nor Tramadol (until he gets more).

Avatar f tn Percocet is in Category C for affects on the baby. You probably already know the following, but just in case: What is Category C? Category C Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. https://www.drugs.com/pregnancy-categories.html https://www.rxlist.com/percocet-drug.
517119 tn?1285871392 Joyce - dont worry I have taken Percocet and the like for many years - (I have slipped discs in my neck) I know how it makes me feel - very tired. So I wont get addicted. Thanks for your concern though.
Avatar m tn Yes I have Back and Neck Pain, Are there any Meds that are not Addictive or that are easy to get off of when you need to Besides Oxycotion , Percocet , Hydrcodine.
Avatar f tn I have plates and screws in my arm holding together. The low back and neck has been on going yrs. Yes i am firm believer in swimming for pain. However now pain is so bad any movement is excruciating. Dr's has even said how am I functioning and without pain meds. Again I stated swimming is better than physical therapy or anything else. But now at a point cannot swim. So something has to be done. I'm not thrilled with any of my options.
Avatar f tn It causes burning an sharp pain down my arm,and in the back of my neck. I have had two cortizone shots now and no relief at all, i was taking percocet which worked really well until I became allergic to it. I tried vicodin and it didn't help also morphine helped but it made me a zombie. So i"m just wondering is there anything else I could try. My pain doctor said i'll need surgery theres nothing else he can do.
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to MedHelp. I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.
497143 tn?1209740782 My boyfriend had gotten neck surgery about a year an a half ago, and he got addicted to percocet's (around 12 a day). Recently his neck started bothering him again, and he got addicted again. Now he's taking 20 a day. He got into trouble yesterday and is now in prision withdrawing. What should i expect when he gets out today? He's coming off them cold turkey and I'm nervous for him. Is there anything I can do to help?
Avatar m tn the tylenol in perks is bad for u on a daily basis on your liver/kidneys. but, im not a dr. why not try and talk to your dr about getting on a pain reliever with little to no tylenol that is longer lasting?
Avatar m tn Because I have so many diff meds I decided to try some things on my own to see what works well FOR ME. I took a percocet 10/325 along with 10mgs of OXYIR and I got pain relief for about 3 hours. I normally take darvacet for break through pain which is useless to me, it never did any good so I did not even attempt to take any of that. For my break through pain, I took another 10mgs of OXYIR. My question is, should I tell my doctor what I tried? OR will he think I am a bad person?
Avatar n tn I have been on narcotics for pain control for the past 9 years. Starting with vicodin for TMJ chronic pain then to percocet about 3 and 1/2 years ago. About a year after that started receiving morphine, fentenal patches, then methadone and now oxycontin to use with the percocet. I just had a 2 level neck fusion and have more back problems to be fixed. I am currently going thru 180 pec 7.5 /325 just about evey 2 weeks and then making it the other 2 weeks till the next doc appt.
Avatar f tn I am a hairstylist, so I use my arms and neck A LOT. Anyhow, I have dealt with chronic pain from this for many years. So, I have been on Percocet 10 mgs, for about a year now. I also get epidural blocks about every 2 months. I take about 6 a day, which is what I am prescribed. My question is what is going to happen to me if I stop taking these abruptly, because honestly I'm scared that my body is addicted. Will I die from withdrawals of this? I'm just really scared.
Avatar f tn I will live with pain for the rest of my life. I was prescribed oxyxontin 40mg 3 times a day plus 10mg Percocet for breakthrough pain. After my botched hip replacement (at age 51) I was searching for a magic cure and was willing to take the pain killers. When I realized this would be forever I wanted to stop the opiates. My doctor gave me a slow withdrawal - every week I went to a lower dose 2 times a day. But when I got to 10mg the schedule was 10mg once a day. Huh?
478811 tn?1208474960 You sound a lot like me. Doing it for the pain and able to cut the dosage down w/o too much problem. For me, I still need it for the pain and RLS. I'm currently taking 1 pill per day in 1/2 dosages. To answer your question about keeping it around the house. I think if you seriously are using it for pain management and none of the over the counter stuff seems to work for you then keeping some around the house is ok.
Avatar f tn I have been having headaches for several weeks straight now. Some tmes severe, sometimes with some sharp stabbig pain in the left side of head. I have had two MRI tests that show possible ischenic episodes with "white foci in the frontal lobe". My family dr thinks possible mini strokes, but I can't get in with a neurologist for three more weeks. I have tried Neurontin, Percocet, Tramadol, Ibuprophen with no releif. I just got a new script for Fiorinol and not tried it yet.
1187071 tn?1279369698 I've never heard of hair loss as a side effect of Percocet, but if your friend is on any steroid for inflammation from her broken neck, it's possible the steroid could be at least a contributing factor to the hair loss. I've been on prednisone many times for many reasons, and there have been times when I've been on it (usually when on for an extended period or at a high dose) when I've experienced hair thinning and loss.
Avatar m tn I take those for pain from the treatments I had for breast cancer.I have been putting off having the injections in my neck but I will eventually try it.I had thought seriously about having the surgery and being done with it until I found out that they cut the front of your neck. That just gives me chillbumps lol.I know how you feel and I hope that you can find some relief.
Avatar m tn t help your kind of pain, and you may end up taking too many which is not good for your liver. I have same in my neck compression planned under a year for me already have nerve impingement left side numb and gives in disk a hair away from spinal cord only days ago re tested...My spine pain is hell the lower torturous, and it's not rebound pain but surgeons will only focus on one part of the body one at a time.
Avatar m tn I am about to have surgery on my foot Tuesday and am scared nothing will work for pain as I am currently taking 60 milligrams of Methadone daily for maintenance. He was going to prescribe me Percocet but am also afraid he will not give me anything because I'm on a program. If he does, will Percocet even work? What would be a good dosage for me? Can anyone help me here? I truly appreciate your time. Thanks a bunch!
Avatar f tn How am I to cope with all the pain now that my pain meds are not going to be available I cant do much right hand movement and need to bring my plate to my face when i ear because i cant put my neck down a little sisde to side motion and thispain under my shoulder blade.
Avatar f tn I have constant and severe posterior neck pain. Also pain in both shoulders, some down both arms. I also have neck swelling on both sides of my neck at the bottom where shoulder meets the neck above the clavicles. I have been to many doctors and none can find anything wrong with me other than mild DDD at C6-7. I cannot continue to live in such pain, all meds I have tried do nothing. Any advise would be appreciated. I would especially like to know what could cause the swelling?
Avatar n tn t want to remotely poke around to find out. The pain is a throbbing in my neck and cheek with sharp, acute pain at the extraction site. I am having a hard time sleeping more than 3 hours at a time. Could it be infected or a dry socket? Or possibly just trauma to the jaw due to the difficulty in extraction? Thank you!
Avatar m tn I suffer from neck trauma and whenever my neck is in extreme pain I get horrible headaches that go with it. I have been prescribed and taken Hydrocodone 5/500. It helps but however I do like the acetaminophen besides I don't like how my vision feels on it because it reminds me of that feeling of being on Tylenol.
1548147 tn?1293815905 I am thinking either the percocet or the surgery though since I was experiencing the pain occasionally before the lyrica but it is hard for me to give up the percocet because I still have so much pain from the surgery without it. Anyone else had this problem with percocet or lyrica or the ALIF surgery? Any ideas or comments are welcome. I am scheduled to visit my back dr next Tuesday.
