Percocet for headaches

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet for headaches

percocet

1930941 tn?1400107522 Aleve works really well for me for my OA - might be worth a shot? And the excedrin is good for headaches and I take it sometimes for overall pain - it's supposed to be one of the stronger OTC pain meds. Just don't overdo it with the excedrin though - the acetimonophen can be bad for your stomach. Also hot baths/showers can help alleviate pain - but even better would be a bath w/epsom salts.
203003 tn?1210855907 Ive never heard of a Percocet 30mg, but Percocet and Oxycontin are not the same thing...I believe that Oxycontin is time released while Percocet is not...please someone correct me if Im wrong...hope this helps!
Avatar f tn My Dr prescribed me lortab or percocet for my headaches during pregnancy
Avatar f tn I have been having headaches for several weeks straight now. Some tmes severe, sometimes with some sharp stabbig pain in the left side of head. I have had two MRI tests that show possible ischenic episodes with "white foci in the frontal lobe". My family dr thinks possible mini strokes, but I can't get in with a neurologist for three more weeks. I have tried Neurontin, Percocet, Tramadol, Ibuprophen with no releif. I just got a new script for Fiorinol and not tried it yet.
Avatar f tn Hello All, This is my first time posting. I've had an addiction to pain meds, Percocet to be exact. But I have been sober for a aboutt months now. Feel Great thank you GOD.. My question is this. For some reason I've been getting headaches. My doc Prescribed a barbituate and caffeine and acedemiphin. I think it's called Bu something??? To be honest, they don't really help, because like I said, I think I am getting sinus headaches, and plan to make an appt with DR.
Avatar f tn ) but does anyone know how long the headaches go on for? I have one all day everyday and the highest dose of Advil isn't helping much. I'm eating and drinking lots of water and Gatorade .
Avatar m tn The only thing I can suggest is trying Fioricet or Fiorinal which are prescribed generally for tension headaches. I suffered with those and still do and for me Fioricet is the only thing that works...I was giving a ton of different migraines medications which never worked.
Avatar n tn Glad to know others get headaches. I only get them sometimes but I just try to lay down do nothing or go to sleep. Last night headache was so bad I feel asleep in tub. But lucky the tub small so couldn't fall in.

Avatar f tn Percocet is in Category C for affects on the baby. You probably already know the following, but just in case: What is Category C? Category C Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. https://www.drugs.com/pregnancy-categories.html https://www.rxlist.com/percocet-drug.
1930941 tn?1400107522 I was taking about 8-10 percs (10-325) for about a year. Before I took Vicodin for 2 years but not abuseing it. I am very happy to be clean but I am suffering terribly from joint pain in legs and headaches. I take Advil for joint pain and if the headache is bad I take Excedrin. Does anyone know when this might subside? Is excederin safe for me to take? Any help is greatly appreciate. I am female and 41.

Avatar f tn I have been on methadone and percocet, very low dose, like 20 mg a day on the methadone and 10 mg a day on the percocet, but it has been probably 15 years that I have been taking this for chronic headaches. I used to be hopeful that I could get off someday but then after my husband died, and the major depression set it, it was just hard.
590968 tn?1226987567 My spec told me that percocet is ok for the liver. Also said he wouldn't be prescribing me any, *L Now I think percocet is a wonderful drug, except for the stupid acetaminophen, but I also believe it's dangerous to take it in the long term, and I would not do so. Nor would I recommend it as an antidote to fuzzy thinking! It's supposed to be an analgesic after all. Finally, "eating a few percs" - rings alarm bells, no question.
Avatar m tn Also, I dont know if it matters, I recently had a ct scan (2 months before) for headaches and they said it was just tension and that everything looked ok up there and haven't had any headaches in a month. Thanks for your help!

Avatar n tn Does anyone have any healthy remedies for headaches? Since I've been told not to have any Tylenol or Advil.
Avatar f tn Yeah thats quite a bit of Percocet...sorry I misunderstood. Well hopefully you can figure out a good tapering schedule that fits your needs. And like I wrote above...if you have someone to help and distribute your meds according to the schedule...it does help a lot.
Avatar n tn Percocet is a strong, habit forming, opiate medication. It is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It should never be used in any other way, for any other reason, unless there was some unusual circumstance that your doctor dictated the usage of Percocet for some other purpose. The BEST thing to do, always, if you're having an issue, or problems with your medications, is to discuss the options with your doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to MedHelp. I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.

Avatar f tn However, the past 3 mornings I have woken up with the worst headaches I have ever had. Is this normal for getting wisdom teeth out or is this a side effect of the Percocet? Is there any reason to be concerned about this?
Avatar m tn I get chronic migraines anyway, but now I have daily headaches (some tension headaches). They seem to be even worse than usual, and it's interfering with my ability to work, drive, and get anything done around the house. I don't think my pills are safe. What can I do for these?
