Avatar f tn I am staying away from them for a while because this headache is horrible. I took 2 advil and it is kindof going away but I am getting very anxious that something could happen to me. The last one I took was 10:20 last night and its 12:30 in the afternoon now. Would something bad have happened already? Please help ease my anxiety. Thank you guys for any answers you can give me.

Avatar f tn Percocet is Tylenol + oxycodone. Tylenol is the most common pain reliever that is safe to use in pregnancy (you're not supposed to take Aspirin or Ibuprofen unless instructed by your doctor).
Avatar f tn I have been having headaches for several weeks straight now. Some tmes severe, sometimes with some sharp stabbig pain in the left side of head. I have had two MRI tests that show possible ischenic episodes with "white foci in the frontal lobe". My family dr thinks possible mini strokes, but I can't get in with a neurologist for three more weeks. I have tried Neurontin, Percocet, Tramadol, Ibuprophen with no releif. I just got a new script for Fiorinol and not tried it yet.
203003 tn?1210855907 So while they are both the same drug, they are delivered a bit different. If you take them for a headache, chances are once it wears off the h/a will return and be worse. I'd suggest a quiet, dark room; an ice pack, some ibuprofen, and time.
Avatar f tn I will live with pain for the rest of my life. I was prescribed oxyxontin 40mg 3 times a day plus 10mg Percocet for breakthrough pain. After my botched hip replacement (at age 51) I was searching for a magic cure and was willing to take the pain killers. When I realized this would be forever I wanted to stop the opiates. My doctor gave me a slow withdrawal - every week I went to a lower dose 2 times a day. But when I got to 10mg the schedule was 10mg once a day. Huh?
Avatar f tn per day, I am out of percocet, but am taking the oxycontin. I feel kind of sick. Arent they the same thing? Why would I be having withdrawels? I take the meds for real pain, and ran out of the percocet, because I try not to take as much oxycontin, becuase it makes me tired and gives me a headache. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn Since you have a headache almost daily, what you have is in all probability not a simple migraine but a chronic daily headache (CDH). This can be the primary type—without any cause. One simple reason for daily headaches with nausea is compression of cervical spinal nerves. Another reason is TMJ, especially if the headache starts with chewing. The third reason could be severe acidity with or without GERD.
Avatar f tn You may take some Valerian for restlesness or talk to your doctor about some Ambien to help you sleep for a few nights. Try taking a half a pill of Vicodin for a few first nights just to make it easier for yourself. Then you can take some Tylenol instead together with the ibuprofen. They work well together for pain. Never take Tylenol while taking Vicodin though, because you may ovedose on acetominophen and damage your liver further.

704329 tn?1518523098 Dental abscesses, infection and difficulties with jaw joint can cause local pain and referred pain to head and face. Headaches from dental stress cause a muscle tension headache. A tension headache can give the feeling as if a steel band were wrapped around it. The pain feels like a dull, non-throbbing ache. See a dentist and get evaluated. Hope it helped. Best luck and regards!
961894 tn?1247076478 Ultimately I think YOU need to decide if you will continue to need pain meds for pain for the rest of your life or not? sounds to me like you might if you are in severe pain! Tapering would be a great idea in my opinion, especially for someone like you who maybe took 3 pills a day at most? It would lessen the withdrawals a lot! This forum has tons of great info. definitely check out the health pages too! ♥ Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn Yeah thats quite a bit of Percocet...sorry I misunderstood. Well hopefully you can figure out a good tapering schedule that fits your needs. And like I wrote above...if you have someone to help and distribute your meds according to the schedule...it does help a lot.
Avatar n tn Percocet is a strong, habit forming, opiate medication. It is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It should never be used in any other way, for any other reason, unless there was some unusual circumstance that your doctor dictated the usage of Percocet for some other purpose. The BEST thing to do, always, if you're having an issue, or problems with your medications, is to discuss the options with your doctor.
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to MedHelp. I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.
1930941 tn?1400107522 I have been clean for 3 weeks now. I am doing better but still expierence headaches , muscle pain and lethargy. Does anyone know how long this last and am what I am going through normal??? THanks!
Avatar m tn So I’ve been taking pain meds for nearly 7 years for medical and then recreational use. Was recently averaging 100mg daily of Percocet. I do have a legal script and continue to misuse my meds. Finally have came to the crossroads and ran short on meds. Made the decision just days before that this is and started weaning down somewhat. So withdraws began during the weaning process about 72 hours ago. Took 45 mg yesterday and down to 10 mg today @ 630 AM; now 1:16.
Avatar f tn I have had a constant headache that started after I stopped the percocet for 12 hours and now is continuing on the subutext. Anybody been on subutex and have had a similar speedy reaction, or double vision ?
Avatar m tn s Powder for your head? It helps me when I have a headache. Also a really hot shower helps. Imodium is good for stomach cramps. AND....last but NOT least, support is good for the mental stuff! : ) Any recovery care you can get will help! You can do it!!!
Avatar f tn Only the tension headache though, not the other types. Also my grandma SWEARS by drinking flat Coke for a headache. Sounds gross I know but it works sometimes. I just drink it not flat does the same thing.
539750 tn?1226521677 After two minutes on crutches practicing I got a headache, I will be on crutches for 4-6 weeks... Hopefully the Percocet will help with the head pain as well as the leg pain.
Avatar m tn I took two ten mg percocets at 9:00am and the 4mg of suboxone roughly 7 hours later. The last 24 hours have been absolutely agonizing. I cannot keep anything on my stomach as I vomit shortly after eating or drinking anything. I'm sweating, cannot sleep and have a headache. I realize, although I am not addicted physically to the Percs, that I am in precipitated withdrawals for 24 plus hours now. My question is how long is this going to last and will taking 4 more mg of suboxone help?
Avatar m tn It sounds like the Hydromorph is your long acting pain med and the Percocet is your hsorting acting med for break through pain. It's not uncommon for a pain Dr to prescribe a long acting and a short acting med together. I'm confused about your Drs. Are you saying you have a pain Dr and your family Dr? Or, are you looking for a pain Dr? Most family Drs these days will not prescribe pain meds for this long. If you're seeing two different Drs do they both know what you're taking?
Avatar f tn I am on both morphine and percocet-the morphine for my regular med and the percocets for breakthrough pain. But it is ALL breakthrough pain to me! Pain is abnormal and therefore it is breaking through into my life-a life that was once normal in which I could pursue activities wholeheartedly rather than cringing with pain with each step I take, with each move I make. Give your body a chance to adjust to the medication and see what happens. It may end up being a god send for pain relief.
Avatar f tn i am having a horrible tooth ache its my wisdom tooth it needs to be pulled but it cant be extracted until wednesday so this morning i took a vicodin 750 mg but i dnt have any left when the pain kicks back in can i take a percocet 10 mg and it want interact with the vic in my body thanx for your time
Avatar f tn I tell you all one thing, percocets make me smoke a lot more than I ever did, that will be one less headache once I wean off some more...can I take tramadol with percocet the last week for the pain? 5mgs of perc with 100 mg of tramadol?
