Common Questions and Answers about Percocet for fibromyalgia

percocet

Avatar f tn I came off like a dozen meds to have a safe pregnancy. My fibromyalgia is better then pre pregnancy but not 100 percent gone. All I have taken for pain is Tylenol. Some days r better then others. In the end its all worth it.
527890 tn?1263783127 I saw a new rheumatologist today who discussed Fibromyalgia with me today for first time by any doctor. She stated that she has never dealt with an HIV+ person, POSSIBLY misdiagnosed with RA/AS, and she is going to have to research. I am hoping there is someone out there like me.
Avatar f tn I am currently on vicodin for fibromyalgia my doctor wants to switch to percocets..dont they have the same ingridents other than more tylenol or ibufrofen?
Avatar f tn This week she decided to put me back on Nortriptyline because it was more effective for sleep. And she also decided that I am to stop cold turkey Percocet that I was taking twice daily "because it can cause irritability and aggression". What? Can anyone guide me as to what I should do? I am already having reactions to God knows what...withdrawal or new meds...and now to stop taking pain meds...and that abruptly? I also take clonazepam and gabapentin at bedtime...help!
Avatar n tn I feel for you. I have fibromyalgia as well, though only one really bad flare-up in the last few years (though it was a very long flare.) I didn't get it until after my last pregnancy and can't imagine dealing with it while pregnant. There is a member here who was on medication with her last pregnancy. Hopefully she'll see your post and respond. Her issue isn't fibromyalgia, but I'm sure she might have some suggestions. Best of luck.

Avatar f tn I take Opana ER which is an extended release pain med and I take percocet for breakthru pain. I also take Lyrica for nerve pain, Trazadone and Flexeril at night to help with sleep and muscle spasms, and I am on Zoloft and bloodpressure meds. I went a long time with no pain meds then to Tramadol then to Lortab, etc.... I have very high pain levels on a daily basis plus I have a high tolerance to meds so the weaker ones never worked well for me.
Avatar m tn And I will tell you that Percocet does not work for Fibromyalgia. They have non-narcotic medications that they can give you. Please cancel the script and speak with your doctor. You were not taking them as prescribed..running out early. That is classic addict behavior. Before you cannot be a mom to your girls, get help. Get honest with your doctor and ask for help with your pain issues.
Avatar f tn I just found out I was pregnant at 10 weeks 3 days my obgyn said that th percocet was fine for me to continue howeveri would have to disconinue the other medications. My problem is tht the 5mg percocet was already not helping enough with my pain and now stopping the other medications its really not enough!
Avatar m tn I have been taking Percocet for 9 months now. At most 4 5/325s per day. For the past month I have been cutting down. At noon today makes 24 hours with none. Right now my legs feel like they want to jump all over the house. I also feel like my skin is crawling. I do have legitimate pain issues from surgical adhesions, fibromyalgia and nerve damage. I am trying to manage that pain with over the counter meds, vitamins, and SNRIs now. I don't have anyone I can turn to for help.
Avatar m tn Im a Fibromyalgia patient with severe body aches and pain bad enough for narcotic pain killers. I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was in a similar position last May....I was taking Oxycontin and Percocet for my broken tailbone, and was becoming quite tolerant to them, and I had a major surgery scheduled to remove a portion of my coccyx bone--a very painful surgery with a lengthy and very painful recovery. It is very important to make sure that all the doctors know your doses, so that they can give you the correct amount of anesthesia, and post-op meds.

Avatar f tn Hi~ It sounds like you need to see a pain management doctor. There are many who specialize in this particular area. Maybe you could ask your doctor to recommend someone. Also, there is a pain management forum on MedHelp. Click on "forums" and it will bring to the forum list.
1069644 tn?1276928863 I have talked to people in this forum who work and take oxycontin or wear a fetanyl pain patch. I take oxycontin 40mg daily for the pain and percocet for break through pain. Everyone is so different so talk to your doctor,I don't know if you want to get in to taking narcotics but if you are in a lot of pain and it's not managed it can take over your life. So have this discussion with your doctor.
Avatar f tn I have tried Lyrica with no change in symptoms started taking Ralivia (Tramadol) last winter found that it was helpful for pain but when I went to stop taking this went through huge withdrawal symptoms was horrible. Am currently taking T#3/Advil for pain sometimes Percocet for really bad days. I do not want to take these analgisics as they are also highly addictive. Anyone know of any other meds without narcotic that have been helpful for treatment of symptoms? .
Avatar n tn For me, traditional pain meds, i.e. Percocet ,ect. do nothing for my neuropathic pain except make feel like I don't care if I'm in pain :-) Tramadol does take the edge off and I do receive some relief. Alex and Erin's ideas regarding relaxation are also very helpful. I got to PT once or twice a week and the massaging of sensitive areas does improve my neuropathic leg pain.
1522259 tn?1291211339 ve read that doctors say that taking opioids for the pain have not really been proven to help with fibromyalgia pain, but for me they do wonders. Not only do they relieve my pain substantially, they give me a boost of energy I have never had.
Avatar m tn Ok, I was prescribed Percocet 5mg for my fibromyalgia and pinched nerve. This is the second script. Now I didn't even take any of the pills, because they don't help me enough and I don't wanna OD on them. I didn't mention flushing them to the doc because i was worried they'd think i sold them. I only said they didn't help. Can I get in trouble in I flushed my pills and the urine test comes up negative for percocet? Like will my doc drop me?
Avatar f tn My daughter since she was a toddler has had loose joints and could "pop out" her hip, knee, ankle, wrist, finger joints. Now at 18 years she has been having excruciating pain in her left hip with it frequently "popping out" and causing her to fall. An orthopedist was giving her steroid shots into the hip area where the nerve is and giving her Percocet which doesn't even help at all.
Avatar f tn I am in terrible, constant, all over body pain and also have an all over burning sensation since an MVA over one year ago. I've tried Cymbalta, Sevella, Neurontin, Vicodin, Tramadol, Darvocet N 100, Nucynta, and Percocet. I've also tried anti depressants, Ativan, and Valium in conjunction with the pain meds. I've had steroid injections in my spine and also tried Lidocaine patches. Does anyone have experience with a pain med that works for this type of chronic pain?
Avatar n tn My daughter in law was on vicodin the entire time she was pregnant with my grandson. the ob gyn said it was ok to take as prescribed. now back when I had my children, many many moons ago we werent allow a tylnol more or less narcotics. but I would say if you ob gyn is saying it is ok, then he should prescribe them to you and inform you pain mangement doc.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Percocet 10/325 three times a day, and it's just not working as well as it has been (I've been taking it for about. 4 years now). I don't know what to do, go to longer acting products or maybe just see if she will up my dose to every 6 hours. I've been trying to make it work for the last 1-2 years because I hesitate to ask for more medication even though she is a pain Dr.
Avatar f tn put me on prednisone, and percocet, have been on prednisone for four days and beginning to decrease my dose...find little relief with percocet 7.5/500 taking 1 every six hours, will run out tomorrow. Am really beginning to worry and become weary with all this pain. Stitched area healing fine with no signs of infection. Have limited function in the right arm which leaves me helpless as this is my dominant side. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn I have been taking Norco and Percocet 10mg for three months is it okay to take them together.
Avatar n tn Have she tried any other FDA approved medications for fibromyalgia besides Lyrica? For example, Cymbalta and Savella?. Having terrible reactions to those pills, I take Trazodone which has tremendously helped me from being a cripple.
