Avatar f tn did you try other meds for anxiety? before the subs?
Avatar m tn Hello all. I have been taking percocet once a day for 4 1/2 years on and off (mostly on). It has dramatically helped in times of severe depression, and has been the only drug/medication that has come close to helping with my depression and anxiety. For those years the most I would take was up to 15mg a day. For the past 3 months I have taken around 30 mg a day (3 months ago I had a very physically painful life event and needed more percocet to cover the pain).
Avatar f tn How long does it take the brain to recover from percocet, after being on percocet for 3 years 10mg a day? Is it normal to still have anxiety after 5 months? My doctor says it is normal, but just want a second opinion.
Avatar f tn I just find out that my 19 years old son is taking Percocet for about 7 month, on average 5-10 pills per day. None of his closest friends use any type of drug. His friend came to us telling that he needs help asap. We sent him to the residential rehabilitation center next day. He tells me that he is happy to be there, he wants his life back. He is been in rehab for 5 days. Please someone explain to me, is that what he really think? How long should take rehabilitation process for the best result?
Avatar f tn Your anxiety will pass in time, but I know it's frustrating. Find people you can confide in, even if it's here on this site. Talk about what's going on in your head. The constant thinking about the drug will go away, but it takes time. So find things you can do to distract yourself. You may have to go so far as to say "i'll distract myself for 5 min" and then increase the time intervals. But talking about what is going on really does help.
Avatar n tn I don't know how far into withdrawals you are or if you have even started yet but everyone is going to tell you exercise. Now I know when I went through my cold turkey withdrawals exercising was the last thing on my mind.... At least at first. After a week or so I was able to start walking around the neighborhood but it still was tough because I too had tons of anxiety/panic.
Avatar f tn ve actually been having WORSE sweats and anxiety. I only have about 8 percocet left and wont be able to refill for a week and I will run out before that. I am taking usually about 8 per day. I was hoping that by taking the clonidine while I still have percocet would keep me from having as bad of a withdrawal when I run out but its making me feel pretty awful.
Avatar f tn I have taken generic percocet for about a year. Not daily at first, strictly recreational. They made me more energetic, strangely enough. I have anxiety/depression and take prescription Effexor. It helps, but I do just what I HAVE to, like work and try to help with basic chores. Anyway, I don't have time to give all the details, but here is my question/problem. I believe my use has become abus/addiction. I have not done any for two days and feel like hell.
Avatar m tn what can i do for withdrawals for percocet. I am trying to take my self off at home. can you help me please. fefe1953 thank you.
Avatar f tn New here and after looking around decided I might try to reach out for some advice. Chronic pain is the hardest thing to get someone to understand unless of course they have been through it. Background: Began with a spine issue, assorted lower back pain and such years ago. I saw my gp, had an MRi turned out to have minor bulges, arthirtis and a bunch of other small things I can't remember.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed percocet 5 about 6 years ago for endometriosis and other stomach problems. Well the doctors had me on these for about 2 years and moved me up to the 10s. In 2009 I was to be scheduled for a hysterectomy but we had to move. Once we got to the new state, I had to fight with doctors here to do the hysterectomy because of my age. Well at 29 (last year) I was able to get the hysterectomy done. Well after the surgery I tried to quit the pills but the withdrawal was insane.
Avatar f tn For more info, go on the anxiety forum and as Ryan for his answer -- he seems to know benzos better than any psychiatrist I've ever seen.
922573 tn?1304099329 Hi kerri. Sorry for all your troubles. There is a solution to your anxiety with taking the Percocet. I have found that Morphine 15mg tabs might be a better choice for you. You will not get the jittery, anxiety feeling like that of Oxycodone (Percocet). Percocet can tend to make a person euphoric as well and in taking the Morphine, you will not get that effect. You might want to have a chat with your Doctor about this possibility. Morphine in 15mg tabs is about equivalent to 5/325 Percocet.
Avatar n tn I have been taking percocet for my wrist I have bad tendonitist and I am addicted to them I try to get off of them and now my ears and head seem clogged and I have been getting dizzy and panic attacks when I try not taking them for a day I wake up feeling so bad and really tired and crappy I am gonna try to just take an aleve to take away alittle of the pain is there anything else I can do to help me out while I am trying to get off of them I don;t want anyone to know about this that is why I am
Avatar f tn As far as the Mental stuff, that will take some time. The anxiety for me was off and on for the first few weeks, but the worst of it was over after about 3 weeks. The above poster was right in that you should avoid alot of caffeine. Also, stay as active as you can. That really helps alot with the lack of energy too. You can take hot baths as well. That also helps with the skin crawling and goosebumps you may still have. Your doing great, just keep moving forward.
Avatar f tn Tired *****, but if you were not tired you could be saddled with anxiety. Take the tired and just go with it for now. Tomorrows a new day....
926688 tn?1244384496 You are looking at 7 to 8 days total, but after the fifth day they lighten up every minute and by the 7th day theya re almost unnoticeable. You wills till have mental cravings and anxiety for a few weeks, letting up also as time progresses, but the worst wds-the physical side of it only last a maximum of a week. You have gone through the climax and the peak of the wds. And for that you should be incredibly proud. Stick with it, your almost there.
Avatar f tn t be to bad and also the anxiety pills will help if you feel you need them I used klonipin for about 5 days for my anxiety when I went cd turkey and last but not least exercise can't tell you how much this helps you might not wanna do it but get out and walk it gets your endorphines goin and makes you feel better. Avatar m tn I have been on percocet for years off and on due to 47 surgeries. I have had 4 this year and need one more in December. I quit percocet c/t two days ago and yesterday I thought I was losing my mind, high anxiety, restlessness and everything else that goes with withdrawls. I can not sleep and am constantly laying down, getting up, moving, back to bed and the routine goes on. I don't know what to do. I did take a clonzapem for the anxiety which I am hoping helps.
Avatar f tn Yeah thats quite a bit of Percocet...sorry I misunderstood. Well hopefully you can figure out a good tapering schedule that fits your needs. And like I wrote above...if you have someone to help and distribute your meds according to the schedule...it does help a lot.
Avatar n tn So my buddy gave me 120 10mgs percs.........I have used them for the pain for about the past four months I followed the instructions i never took over 4 pills a day....Well my neck is feeling much better but I stopped taking the pills Sunday and I have no been able to sleep at all.....My legs will not stop moving and I am tired but I can not sleep...I refuse to take any more pills to sleep but I have slept maybe an hour the past two days and still working does anyone have any other advice...
Avatar n tn sorry to say that since you took so much so soon after withdrawls and you don't sound like you were through, it will probably come back
1080427 tn?1256072953 I started taking percocet in june of 09 for a hernia sx i had, I have been taking them ever since basically for fun, the energy and the happiness. I want to quit cold turkey i want NOTHING more to do with percocet. Today is my first day not takin anything. On any given day i was taking 3 or 4 of them... Today i have the chills, I feel like I have a fever, jittery, and lots of anxiety.... How long does this usually last and is there ANYTHING at all to help even feel a little better???
Avatar n tn Percocet is a strong, habit forming, opiate medication. It is prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain. It should never be used in any other way, for any other reason, unless there was some unusual circumstance that your doctor dictated the usage of Percocet for some other purpose. The BEST thing to do, always, if you're having an issue, or problems with your medications, is to discuss the options with your doctor.
1615943 tn?1410627667 You could visit the hospital tomorrow and anti anxiety, medicines could be prescribed which can allay anxiety preoperatively. Try to take it easy and all the best. Take care.
Avatar f tn See if his doctor can write him a prescription for some Requip for restlessness, Neurontin for anxiety and malaise, some Flexeril or Soma for a few weeks for muscle spasms and maybe some Seroquel low dose, for sleep. Clonidine is very helpful for the creepy-crawly feeling and control of blood pressure variations. It will make the withdrawals easier. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter.
Avatar n tn Hi and welcome to MedHelp. I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.
