I am still pretty new here. I tried to tapper off of percocet that I have been using daily for about 8 months now, the dosage kept going up and got to about 6 - 10 mg pills a day and thats when I new I needed to do something.

There are so many different studies and opinions on this issue, I don't think it will ever be resolved... We all know that study data can be skewed any way one wants to skew it, in order to come up with the preferred results. I told him no he said well your drug test came back positive for percocet and no hydrocodone in your urine. He said he was sending off and results would be back in a week.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 06, I have been taking percocet 10/325 for bone pain since then. I started out at 3x daily now I'm taking between 8-10 a day. I recently talked to my doctor about switching me to davocet because I had taken that years ago for back surgery and I stopped it with no problems. My problem with the percocet is that I have to take it everyday whether I need it for pain or not, the withdrawals are there.

Hello! I have been taking percocet 7.5/500 for about 9 months. I have been diagnosed with degenerate arthritis in my spine. Like so many people on this site, I am addicted to the percocet. Although I know that the chances of spreading HSV-1 to eithers genitals is extremely low, is there any numbers out there on this? Oxycontin is a 12 hour sustained release form of Oxycodone, and then there is an Oxycodone immediate release, taken every six hours, which I think is Percocet. Percocet is a combination of Oxycodone and Acetaminophen.

1 of 3 posts to this question for the experts: I've been taking about 6 Percocet 7.5's &/or Hydrocodone 7.5-10mg 5x's a day for 4 months now for chronic pain. I'm all out & can't get any filled till 3-3 & would like to try my Neurontin 600mg tid to help with the opiate w/d symptoms. I can go get my Rx for Neurontin this am & only have one 7.5 Percocet left. Planning to take 1/2 now & 1/2 at 10am.

I shattered my elbow a year and half ago. I started taking 30mg of percocet a day for pain and healing. That lead into a year strong addiction of taking over 150mg of perc a day. I finally decided to quit a few weeks ago and instead of tapering with what I had left I did over 200mg a day for seven days than quit. I took 20 mg of methadone for a 3 days and than ten for two days and 5mg of methadone for one day. It has been 7 days off percocet and two days without done.

m percocet addict so I sure do understand the hold these devils have on a person. Its like heroin in pill if you ask me. I can't believe it but I've been off them a year and you can do it too! I think you should be completely honest with your doctor. He will understand, not be shocked and will help you through this. He cannot write your condition on a sick note because it violates doctor patient confidentiality laws . Its strickly between you and him. Don't be scared.

I don`t know if percocet is like darvecet by the physical part took a good week to get past cold turkey. The mental part is alittle harder. but you can definatley do this!! Today is day 48 for me and this site will help you ALOT!

I had major back surgery, a four level fusion, in october 2006. I was given percocet after the surgery, and was told to go to a special pain management place, where i went for over 7 months. because I was active 4 weeks after the surgery, and started to run around and take care of my kids and get back to my very busy life style, I never had real time to relax, and just "chill out". I stopped going to therapy in july, last year, put I continued to need the pain meds.

I'm I having withdrawl or not I stopped taking percocet 40 hrs ago and lying in bed tonight my hands and shoulders were aching so bad I was tossing and turning I got up and took 2 10's Percocet and 1 10 Oxycontin and now I'll spend the rest of the night in my recliner , The question is, is my pain a reaction to stopping the Percocet . I've gone through this time and time again only to have the pain over whelm me .
