I am not sure if this caused by the new dosage of Percocet, or if it has to do with the weight I have gained due to my injury perhaps.... But I started doing some research and read everywhere that Klonopin and Percocet are a dangerous mix. I started with percocet 5mg 40 a mnth and quickly went to 240 percocet 10 mgs per month, then they introduced those patches to me and went from 50mcg to 100 mcg in 2 months.

I do NOT want to feel these symptoms again so I need to know I can get away with taking the 5mg to help myself instead of make it worse.

If you're fine with 5mg I definitely would NOT up your dosage!! One day you'll go to get your meds and doc will say "I think it's time you come off" then you my friend are in for a living nightmare. I would stick to the lowest dose you can handle. And itchiness can be a side effect to the oxycodone.

I have tried the chiropractor route and that just made things so much more worse that I know had to have these xrays done to see what is the real problem. My family doc prescribes me Percocet 10/650mg 3 times a day but these don't seem to last more then 2-3 hours per pill and she won't increase my dosage becasue she says she is not a pain mgmt doctor. Don't get me wrong, I love my doctor and will continue to see her for family issues but I guess I need to find a pain doctor.

They hurt my stomach so I switched to Percocet. Had to buy them from a friend because I was to ashamed to ask doctor. My supply has run out and the withdrawals are horrendous. The worst is the rebound headaches and cold sweats at night accompanied by this terrible restless leg feeling but far worse! I feel like my skin is crawling. I have two children and a hubby to take care of. One of my children is special needs. I can't be sick like this.

21 days! That's great. I hope to get there. Right now, I can't bring myself to toss the pills. I've never felt like something had a really strong hold on me but THEY do. They convince me that taking them is the best choice and, when I'm not on them, my mind is always thinking of ways to get them. Thanks everyone :) my OB knows that I'm on percocet but I hate it when he says 'baby may be a little dependent, no big deal' cause it is a big deal to me! I'm actually working on lowering my dosage from 4-6 10mg to 4-6 5mg and I want to keep lowering my dosage! It's hard cause in dying here but I've rather be in pain than have my baby suffer from withdrawals!

It may be sooner or a bit longer but hang in there. If you go back to pills, it will only get worse and so will the withdrawals. We end up having to take more for any type of relief. Stay strong and keep posting for support, especially if you are feeling weak.

I have come in contact with Percocet, which contains 2.5MG of Oxy, but then I also see an 80mg Oxy tablet on the market. Is the 80mg a time released version? I know this is an old post but I feel the need to reply to the gentleman who posted just above me. Are you HIGH? Fentnyl is NOT a downgrade to Percocet, its a jump from one end of the scale to the other. I agree that for some people it is very effective, but to suggest that going to 100mcg patch from Percocet is a downgrade is just plain stupid and irresponsible.

I was given percocet after the surgery, and was told to go to a special pain management place, where i went for over 7 months. because I was active 4 weeks after the surgery, and started to run around and take care of my kids and get back to my very busy life style, I never had real time to relax, and just "chill out". t think 200mg of Ultram over 4 days (if that is what you are saying) can compare to 100mg of percocet per day. I did not get a high from ultram either. It was so different from other opiates. People have gotten addicted to it though. Hang in there. It gets so much better. Believe me. You do not need these devil pills. They will ruin your life if they havent already.

My problem is tht the 5mg percocet was already not helping enough with my pain and now stopping the other medications its really not enough!

There is still real pain that needs to be addressed but the docs seem to be reluctant to increase dosage. I mean, one way or another HE is going to need help getting off these things when they are no longer needed. HE feels that he has built up a pretty good tolerence over time and that docs are not taking that into consideration.

30mg of Morphine is small dosage anyway so I think either doctor increase dosage OR switch to stronger opiates for breakthrough. You did not mention what milligrams it is for percocet? OR you choose to cut it down. Whichever you and doctor may decide what it would be best for you.

To give you a comparison--I struggle with pain meds due to a really high tolerance and I do feel a need to up the dosage to get it to even touch the pain. And, on another side--I do not mind the 'high' feeling associated with pain meds--which worries me!!!! It may be that the conversion to fentanyl was too high a dose... given your description of symptoms, they aren’t typical withdrawal, but sound more like the fentanyl dose was too high.

There is a lot you can do. The biggest aid you have as we'll as adversary is your own attitude. Remember that many people have overcome pills and you can too. It's all in due time. You have spent a long time medicating and it's just our bodies needing to recover and function normally. How long have you taken the Percocet and how much each day? Search for 'Thomas recipe'. There is some instruction on what to eat, what vitamins to take. Hot baths and help with sleep.
