A lot of times this can be remedied by changing the dosing schedule, ie, breaking up a once daily dose into twice a day...or changing the time of administration. Generally speaking, these types of meds (like Effexor) improve with INCREASING dosages, not decreasing. Your dose is average....there is still some room to increase. Have you noticed a significant improvement in the past when increasing the dose? If so, you may want to discuss some changes with your doctor.

Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.

If anything they will just make them reduce the amount of Tylenol in Vicodin and Percocet or take it out completely and prescribe the pain pill and add a second pill like tylenol in a smaller strength.......I don't see either one of those meds going off the market completely especially since Vicodin is the most prescribed painkiller in this country.....

I keep seeking spiritual advice but is there something else that can be done and is it normal to feel so awful.( diahrea, hot and cold flashes, crying uncontrollably, restless legs, and insomnia of course? How long does these awful symptoms normally last? Since its been 5 days should I just continue the way I 'm going? He is the one that sent my prescription in mail this month.I wonder if he would do one more time. I just don't want tobe bothersome. I can make an appointment with my old nurse practioner. Can she refer me to pain management? What I don't understand is why my Dr in Florida cant refer me to Pain Management in Pa.

The difference between a 2.5mg percocet and an 80mg oxycontin is astronomical, and could mean the difference between life and death. Cutting a time release form of medication can lead to fatality...these are very serious medications with very serious side effects.

For most people, as long as you are consistently putting a narcotic into your body, you will grow a tolerance. But I know someone who has taken percocet for over 20 years and has been at the same dosage basically the whole time. Everyone is different. Have you tried medications other than narcotics?

I was given percocet after the surgery, and was told to go to a special pain management place, where i went for over 7 months. because I was active 4 weeks after the surgery, and started to run around and take care of my kids and get back to my very busy life style, I never had real time to relax, and just "chill out". Dentist just say wait, but I can’t bear pain in my lower front 5 teeth’s, and dentist doesn’t care to do anything. I am also prescribed percocet and I get 150 pills a month and I take it in addition to extended release morphine for chronic back pain. On average, I take 25 mg of percocet daily and up to 30 mg a day along with 60 mg of morphine per day. I have never had a morning after headache from the percocet. The maximum dose of acetaminophen that can be taken daily is 4,000 mg. So with 325 mg in each pill, you took well under the maximum dose.

d still like to take these few low dosage percs to try and help ween myself off easier and help the withdrawls. I do NOT want to feel these symptoms again so I need to know I can get away with taking the 5mg to help myself instead of make it worse.

So the first night (Tuesday night) I took the new dose of Percocet (at 9pm) and my Klonopin and Trazadone (at 10pm) and went to sleep. Nothing strange occured or was reported. Last night, I took the new disage of Percocet all day (as prescribed). I took my last dosage at 8:45pm and then took my Klonopin at 10pm. As for medications I remain uncertain about taking narcotics because of addictive potential and side effects (constipation) and I do not take a liken to withdraw symptoms very well. If you’re taking Percocet for years then I wonder the dosage and if mixed with Acetaminophen as I believe this helps to prevent drug abuse. If straight Percocet, (Oxycodone) for years then I hope you are not suffering from drug addiction.

Its toxicity depends on the route of administration, duration, exposure and dosage. The route of administration is the most important determinant of toxicity. I hope this helps.

I was on 120mg of Oxycontin with Percocet for breakthrough and went on 90mg of MSContin. For me, I never had to move up in dosage even though it is less and have been on this for over 3 years now. I did move to OxyIR as the acetaminophen was starting to take a toll on my stomach with nausea and greater acidity. It's strange that you feel drugged as that would mean too much medication for you....but the other symptoms are those that can be of withdrawal...

i take clonazepam and it reacts differently depending on how severe your anxiety is. if im super anxious at night i take .5mg and it keeps me covered in the night and il have to take another one in the morning. however if i take 2 .5mg at night (which sometimes i have becuase my anxiety was over the roof) i am usually good until midday the next day. so i think that 1.25 of clonazepam will keep you covered. it all depends on how anxious you are at that time.

STUPID!! So I took percocet 4 a week, and 2 pills 4 x a day.. of 10/325.. Now tis is 48 hours and I am in terrible wd's!! same stuff sweats, rls, insomnia.. ect. What is the difference between Oxycontin and percocet? I mean, I know Oxycontin is slow release, but percocet is Oxycodone and how is that different from the Oxycontin? I thought they were the same only, one was slow release and one was not, but there must be another difference... Right?

I had some time where I was on Percocet with this pregnancy and it was explained to me that its ok as long as its not long term. That it lowers the babies heartbeat. Does your doctor know this is a daily medication for you?

I had my Percocet RX filled on the 10th of this month in West Virginia, where I have just moved. How soon can I get another Percocet RX filled? In my last state there was a three day rul. So I could get the RX filled on the 7th! It's been a bad month and I'm going to need it sooner than the 10th, so what's the guideline or rule in West Virginia?
