Avatar n tn I devloped a rash below the incision site on my neck. It looks like a heat rash but burns and itches. I do not know if this is a reaction to betadine, pain medication, or the IV antiboiotics I was given. How can I determine which it is? Is it common that these might cause a rash? I do not have any rash on other parts of my body....just my neck and upper chest area.
Avatar f tn I only started taking percocet yesterday, after suffering for 4 days with severe pain. I had tried everything, NSAIDS, hot wet compresses, I went for massages 4 days in a row! I'm going to have to go back and get an MRI, but in the meantime, I need to take the percocets. I just don't know if I should continue taking the subs while I am on the percocet. I want off the subs really bad, but I only got 15 percs and I don't know how long it will take me to get another Dr appt.
Avatar n tn I am 6 weeks pregnant and have kidney problems. The ER Doctor gave me Percocet and Promethazine and I can't remember if I can take them together.
Avatar m tn What you're experiencing is why short-acting medications like percocet (oxycodone) don't work well for chronic pain. You end up chasing pain spikes and you're either over- or under-medicated. For the same reason, Percocet is a popular drug of abuse for it's immediate, short-acting properties. I hope you can get in with your doctor very soon and get a medication change. I'm afraid you may be doing yourself more harm than good trying to self-medicate with the Percocet.
Avatar f tn And if the what if the pain management route is not working due to the new limitations via DEA/FDA laws, then what? The new restrictions are amazing bad in their collateral side-effects wrt chronic pain patients. At least CO has allowed the option of alternative pain remedies - and they do work very well. I think the traditional pain med route is ineffective now with the mindless "drug-war" mentality out there.
Avatar n tn I am currently recovering from back surgery and am taking 2 Percocet 10mg every 8 hours per the directions. I ran out today and tomorrow is a holiday so I won't be able to get a script until Tuesday. I am not good at keeping track b/c the scripts are only for 15 days while most are for a month, but anyway. I have some 5mg vicodin - can I take those to get me through until I can fill the script for the Percocet? If so, how much should I take?
Avatar f tn I am also prescribed percocet and I get 150 pills a month and I take it in addition to extended release morphine for chronic back pain. On average, I take 25 mg of percocet daily and up to 30 mg a day along with 60 mg of morphine per day. I have never had a morning after headache from the percocet. The maximum dose of acetaminophen that can be taken daily is 4,000 mg. So with 325 mg in each pill, you took well under the maximum dose.
692643 tn?1372611227 I've had the same thing with BP, and hard to get off Cymbalta, it's not that effective as a frontline anti-depressant, there a others in the mood stabilzer category that will work better, I'm on Lamactil, and it's been a godsend. If you look at that med, there is a warning about a rash, but it's very rare, and going up on that med slowly (25mgs/week) will usually negate the chance of that rash ocurring.
Avatar f tn Percocet can depress your respiratory system and Lorazepam is a sedative. They can be dangerous taken together because of the risk of OD. But if he has been taking them together for awhile and is under a doctors care he should be fine. I was hooked on Percocet and would take Lorazepam sometimes for panic attacks, never had a problem. I was also on anti-depressants. There is a risk. How much of each is he taking?
Avatar f tn My husband and i have recently decided to try and get pregnant and were both very excited however i had hip surgery a year ago and because of this i have extremely bad back pain and take percocet because of it, is it safe to take percocet while trying to conceive, and will it lessen my chances?
Avatar m tn i had knee surgery at end of Dec. and am just now coming off the pain pills and am going nuts. I'm sure its the percocet but am alittle confused about the difference between Percocet and the oxycontin as they both have said....OXYCODONE... on the label is the oxy just a time release percocet?
Avatar n tn I havnt had any for a week now was givin ultram which i started using the day i ran out of of percocet. Now i have nothing tommrow will be the first day and im worried about whats gonna happen to me. I want to go to my dr and get help but i dont know what he can do for me. Im really nervous n dont know what i should do..
Avatar n tn And honestly percocet and dilaudid both carry the same risks (although really the biggest risk is the baby being born dependent and since you're only 14wks that's really not an issue unless you continue to have kidney stones throughout the pregnancy like I did with my firstborn). But truly pain medicine under the care of a doctor can be done quite safely. The bigger concern is your kidney function while you're.
Avatar n tn but i have a bunch of suxobone left and i wanted to try and get back on them from the percocet.... any advise... i have about a week and a 1/2 supply and won't be able to get into the pain dr again for a few weeks... can i wean down on my own? what can i do... any tips? i do NOT want to bein pain but i do want to try the suboxone again.. just to try it and see if it'll work again... thanks for any/all advise!
527890 tn?1263783127 Truvada (HIV meds), Marinol (appetite), Valium (stress from the pain), and Percocet (started for peripheral neuropathy). My percocet use over the past few years has dramatically increased due to the non specific body pain I feel in most of my major joint areas, including in order of pain are: back, neck, knees, shoulders, hips, hands, feet over the past few years. Pain is soothed with heating pad, but at time it feels like I am being stabbed especially in behind my knees.
Avatar f tn Do not take tylenol and he percocet. Percocet is safe I took it with a bunch of my pregnancys. I had kidney stones bad and had to be hospitalized a lot and put on iv pain med but when it was manageable I was on. 1-2 Percocet 5's every 4-6 hrs through out my pregnancys. I only get bad stones while pregnant but my babies were all healthy, well the ones I took the medicine with. If you are in pain take your medicine bonus it help with pregnancy pains...
Avatar m tn the pain medicine I take makes my mind race if I'm on it around the clock. I don't take more than prescribed but I did notice that after I lowered my dose, got off it completely for a few days and then slowly started with 1 dose a day and then 2 where I'm at currently, When I was at the end of that 3 day period it's like my body "reset". I was able to get tired earlier, and able to sleep sounder.
Avatar f tn I had some time where I was on Percocet with this pregnancy and it was explained to me that its ok as long as its not long term. That it lowers the babies heartbeat. Does your doctor know this is a daily medication for you?
1535595 tn?1317990033 I didn't see that post so I can't be much help. However, talk with you OB GYN about the percocet and your pharmacist.
