Percocet and naproxen

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and naproxen

percocet

Avatar n tn who prescribed Flexeril, Percocet and Naproxen. The Naproxen made him very sick as well as angry (the anger could also be from coming off of the Tramadol) so now he's taking Percocet and Flexeril. I used to be a Pharmacy Tech so I know the combination of all these drugs can be (or is) dangerous and initially (while on Tramadol) he didn't use the Percocet but I found out he was using the Flexeril with the Tramadol.
Avatar m tn Yes, I do have friends I spend majority of my time with that do smoke. I current take Naproxen 500MG two or three times a day (depending on pain) and Percocet (OR SUB)--5MG / 325MG. I have been taking Naproxen for almost two months and Percocet for about 2 weeks. Could it be a false positive?
Avatar f tn i had buzzing in my ear for last year it is my left ear last year in august i got a shingles shot then the thundering lighting or someone hitting with the hammer in my head i get dizzy spells but i do not faint then i throw up they gave me naproxen it has not help the doctor said i was having withdrawals from the Percocet not ttrue it would have stop right then the throwing up come in i am besides myself becoming more more
1807779 tn?1333840302 I get headachs on an off and some are fairly nasty but I only use Naproxen and Ibuprophen because I am sensitive to other stronger drugs. I do have an accupuncturist that has given me several hints for my headachs that work well and I can do them on my own and if I get one that is just too awful then I may go in for a treatment. I wish I could get something to make them just quit but for now I guess I just do what I can.
Avatar f tn The pain in my hips in legs while trying to sleep at night has been horrible. All I take is ibubrofren and a half of Percocet when I am desperate. I don't want to get addicted to pain medication. Is there a pain med. that helps but is a lot less non addictive?
Avatar m tn I have been on all sorts of meds in the past, including vicodin and percocet. My orthopedic Dr. told me before I could mix tylenol with advil and it would equal a pain pill without the narcotic effect. I don't remember how many of each to take and how many hours apart to take each of them. Is this safe? I would rather take these then go back on pain meds! Thanks!
699217 tn?1323438700 Here is the easiest way to look at it, (i think?) ... Percocet has tylenol in it, however, oxycodone and oxycontin are just straight percocet, no tylenol. I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. It's been over 3 months since I got off Percocet . All is great and withdrawals were completely gone. But here is my new situation. I've recently had a health problem that causes excruciating pain and the doctors at the hospital gave me Percocet to help minimize the pain. I'm on 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hours and will be for two more days. Total has been about a week.
Avatar f tn t give me anything that was dangerous but I researched it and some websites say not to take it during pregnancy ?
Avatar m tn on day 10....today my doctor prescribed me Naproxen for my chronic back pain. I know I could search this, but would rather ask anyone with any experience with it's use. Good idea or not to use after 10 days clean. I dont even know if it's a "mild" narcotic or not, however I believe it's similar to Aleeve. Advice? thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn 00 PM, then in the afternoon the next day, I'd still have the equivalent of 1 unit of Naproxen in my system due to half-life metabolization. This would mean that if I drank alcohol that afternoon, it is the same as if I had just taken 1 naproxen on top of whatever I'm drinking. Yes? I would think so because the liver still has that unit to metabolize on top of the alcohol you are now consuming.
Avatar f tn Naproxen is just ibuprofen, which is Motrin and Aleve. I would think Celebrex would help a lot more than Naproxen. It can't hurt to ask for it. Naproxen didn't do anything for me, except hurt my stomach. The Celebrex helped a lot, right away.
Avatar m tn My pulse is exceptionally weak and my blood pressure is 156/90 after taking one (1) 500mg Naproxen and an amphetamine. I went and got my blood pressure checked, as well as my resting heart rate. The nurse never actually tried to feel my pulse, though. So I came home and I am very worried about how weak my pulse is. Has anybody heard weather or not taking Naproxen with an amphetamine can be harmful because it is not in the drug facts and I cannot find anything about it online either.
Avatar m tn t think muscle relaxers are addictive, except for Soma, at least in my experience, and can sometimes be helpful with neck and back pain. Ibuprofen or Naproxen is good for inflamation and muscle relaxers for spasms. I am not sure what else you can take or what you are looking for. Any Narcotic is potentially addictive, so if you have had problems with them in the past they would be hard to get off of.
Avatar n tn Hi windseakr, First, I want to welcome you to the PM (Pain Management) Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues. Meloxicam (Mobic) is most commonly used for reducing pain, inflammation and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis. It's in the family of NSAID's medications.
Avatar n tn Naproxen is similar to Motrin or Nuprin or any of the other anti-inflammatory agents that are used to relieve menstrual pain, and it is very safe and works very well. It is my number one choice to prescribe for dysmenorrhea. If you are at the point in life that you are "trying" you could still use it during your periods-- just not during ovulation. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Stomach ulcers are more likely to be associated with NSAIDs like ibuprofen, naproxen contained in Motrin or Advil and such. So if you are also taking those I would suggest that you stay away. People who use Percocets illicitly and attempt to do a Percocet detoxification, are at a high risk of severe withdrawal symptoms as they tend to use higher than prescribed doses.
Avatar m tn Codeine (in the Tylenol 3) could be the culprit. It metabolizes in a complex way into morphine and many other substances. You might ask your PM about that? Could you stop the Tylenol 3 for a month and see if this affects your urinalysis?
Avatar f tn Congrats to him for his clean time, and congrats to you for sticking with him through this!! Regarding the naproxen and his kidneys, I'm pretty sure naproxen is considered an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory). NSAID's can cause kidney issues. It is possible that he may have done some damage to his liver/kidneys from his abuse of the pills. How long was he using, and how much?
Avatar m tn s main ingredient Naproxen sodium is for the relief of inflammation, pain and stiffness. It is commonly taken by persons with arthritis. If you have arthritis you should see a doctor. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I am not diagnosed as rheumatoid arthritis yet sice all the test results are negative, but the doctor thinks i might be catching the early stage of the one. My doctor prescribed Naproxen. I took it and it works for the meantime but does it actually prevent from arthritis to stop the development of the disease or the symptom, or it's just a temporary pain relief?
Avatar f tn Every month I get severe menstrual cramps. I have been to the gyno a few times looking for what I can do, but seem to be at a loss. I am not allowed to use hormonal treatments to help with the pain, such as the pill, because of other health concerns and no doctor wants to risk putting me on a hormonal treatment. Though the cramping doesn't respond very well to the pain medication I've been prescribed. At times I feel like curling up in the fetal position and just crying.
Avatar f tn i get tired of being stiff, cant take naproxen anymore, makes my hands swell up some, so now Dr told me to take 1 moltrin in am and pm.. its helping a bit..
