Percocet and morphine together

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and morphine together

I take percocet and morphine together, but mine are prescribed from a Dr for a medical reason. I would suggest doing some research on the internet. Just put morphine in the search engine and you will find a lot of info. All narcotic prescription drugs are addictive, they give you a high feeling and they take away pain...I am not sure if your husband takes them fr a Dr or does he buy them from the streets? Feel free to send me a PM if you like!
There are many lawsuits out there from patients and family members of patients that were taking percocet or vicodin and ended up with liver failure or damage and many of them actually died. There are other lawsuits out there from consumers that overdosed on over the counter tylenol as they were taking up to a bottle a day to combat the pain that no doctor would treat with opioid medications. and again in this scenario, there were several deaths.
if I change to morphine for my immediate surgery pain, will I still experience percocet withdrawal pain while on the morphine? Also since I will only be on the morphine for 6-10 days the morphine would not cause withdrawals when I stopped if I were to go this route would it? Normally I know I'm strong enough to handle it, but after surgery I don't even want to try.
Well what i did, instead of doing something stupid like calling in my own script, I went to the ER for the first time, and told them I had really bad pain from a slip and fall. Well they gave me a shot with 5mgs of morphine and sent me home on percocets. I only got 15 percocets and thats all I wanted. I dont want anything more then that cuz like I said,l am going to my Sub doc on the 1st. I just didnt want to be "sick" till the 1st, so as addicts, you all know how I I went.
No there is a big diference between a typical addict and someone who becomes dependent on pain meds. Addicts like I was think and scheme drugs and steal or lye. A person who becomes dependent on pain meds legally doesn't have near as many drug related problems or cravings.
I've been taking subutex and xanax for about a year now. I was on percocet 30s and oxycontin 80mg but thought subutex was a good way for me to escape all the grief of withdrawing half the time. I take subutex in the morning and xanax at night usually. Then I started to mix them a little. Sometimes I felt really weird and not right plus was getting xanxious and worried. I've been to the hospital a couple times and thought I was dying.
Hi and welcome! It is a rough road and good for you that you have made the decision to stop. I couldnt agree with you more about telling your wife. I was so scared to tell my husband, becasue he always had the mentality of "just stop". He was so supportive and in some way, it brought us a bit closer. Our relationship suffered because of the pills. I have had a few relapses myself and I think its because I didnt seek any aftercare. We can only white knuckle it for so long.
I am 25 weeks pregnant and I am taking percocet 3-4 times a day for a severe back injury....I take them because i need them and never to get high.....My ob said not to discontinue, i was just wondering if anyone took this med while pregnant and Is it 100% my baby will be born addictede?
Well, I have cut the morphine sulfate off all together and and only did the hydromorphone today BUT the strange thing is I woke up this morning feeling great, I mean I had pain but hardly no witdrawals at all really weird. I agree you are what you eat but percocets do exactly that...
I'm not sure if hydrocodone and morphine are in the same family of drugs. I know vicodin and percocet are in a similar family (due to codine), but morphine is much different. refer to this website.
morphine sulfate seems to be the pill of choice for Docs that do not want to get into prescribing Oxicontin/percocet due to heat from Boards and those wanting to ban the pill. Go one day without morphine - you can live, but will have runny noses. Day 2 - horrible - your body just wants to get rid of everything in it - there is no control of it either. Pretty much uncontrollable and you do not want to eat anything. Day 3 is still the same.
He put me on MASSIVE dosages of Neurontin and increased the dose just about every month over the year he treated me until I was taking something like 2K mg. day and continued the same dosage of percocet my surgeon had me on, and refered me to a phyciatrist, I never felt he took me or my pain seriously, every visit when he would write my scripts for the pain meds, he made it a point to say to me "You can't stay on these forever, you've just got to get over the pain and get on with it!
You have a tuff situation and you have to be tuff. Oxy w/booze can kill depending on amounts he drinks the combo can cause respitory arrest (stops breathing} I' ve been there got me off oxy's at least anything above 10mg, saw 80' plus. if he does not drink much thats a plus. You are right it could ruin you finacially the move out could help him see the light but talk to him he has to want to quit you can't make him quit.
Again, Fentanyl is 100 x as strong as morphine... NOT 81% and NOT 40%. Call the pharmacy if you'd like to verify this. You can get addicted to ANY Narcotic out there, from Vicodin to percocet to Fentanyl....doesn't matter which one. and ALL will cause w/d if you use them to "get high" and then stop suddenly. It's not just the "Big Dogs" everyone.... Your body will develope a "TOLERANCE" to any Narcotic also.......and a Pain Dr.
I am going to pharmacy school. percocet and Norco are VERY different. percocet- Is a schedule II drug and is in the same class as morphine, adderall, cocaine, and fentnyl. It is kept locked up in retail pharmacies and is only allowed to be unlocked by a pharmacist. percocet is oxycodone and acetominipen (tylonol).
So, obviously he's an idiot because percocet is oxycodone, and so is oxycontin, right? So he won't refer me for any program. and of course, I've got a ton of pills left, I don't know, probably ten 20 mg. extended release, and 25 5 mg percocet. I anyone's help on how to taper myself without going crazy. Plus, I don't even know if I have the willpower to do it. I'm sure once I stop taking them I'll be slammed with chronic migraines again.
Yes, it's safe. I had surgery right after Gavin was born and they gave me morphine and they told me it was safe while BF, it would maybe make him a little sleepy! You would be surprised to know what drugs are safe during nursing.
Well, my mouth still feels raw, and am getting more little blisters, and I think it may be a reaction from the percocet. Bob, I know you are gonna make it, and my heart will be with you. I know it won't be an easy thing to do, but you will make it because you want to. I am trying to find a site on aol, that use to be here, ask a dr or something like that. Do you know what I'm referring to? Have a great holiday yourself, if I don't hear from you before.
Methadone is an opiate similar to morphine. It is used to prevent withdrawal symptoms in those trying to get off heroin and other narcotics. It is also used as a pain reliever.
) I was on morphine when I conceived and during the first few weeks because I had just gone off the pill and we weren't "trying" yet (DH is 40 and still has the ability to get a woman pregnant just by looking at her) and I threw out all the pills as soon as I found out - don't judge. Even though this OB said it was ok, I still have that drive to protect my 11 week old fetus, and I was here looking for experiences.
switched me to ms contine 30 mg 2x aday last mo pain has increased so has depression, yesterday she said she wanted to take away hydros and replace w/ a qquick release morphine she is also going to up the ms contine to 45 mg 2x aday (finally) question: are the quick release morhine going to help rescue me or at least take the edge off as well as the 7.5mg hydros? tired of being a guinea pig.
In the next week or so I will get together with my Dr and see if he wants to try different meds,or send me to a pain clinic. There is nothing more he can do to fix my knee.No its at the point to learn to live life with the pain and the restictions.I have always been an active man,so this has all been hard on me.Thanks to all of you for your comments and input.
Just be honest and tell him the morphine is giving you all this trouble. If you don't get the side effects from the oxycodone and it works, not sure why they want to change it.
I had to have a c-section because they had to take the baby early due to the pre-eclampsia. I was on morphine until it had me deathly ill and they switched me back to percocet. I had been taking 5mg pre-op and they had me on 10mg post op...which makes sense since I had become somewhat tollerent to it and my pain was more severe from the surgery. Well ofcourse nurse Wratchet is taking care of me, and I ask for my pain meds. I take my pain meds. I call her in...two hours later...
I still have pain after taking the long acting morphine and I take percocet for the pain that breaks through a couple of times per day. Given that it happens regularly, I could probably use another titration of the morphine but I haven't bothered since my pain is covered after taking the percocet. If you are concerned about the tylenol, you could take pure oxycodone IR as JayBay recommended or some other immediate release opioid formulation.
I had hernia surgery and was prescribed percocet 10mg.. It been 2 months and have stopped them but feeling really depressed and anxious. How long will this take to subside??? I usually half the 10mg and take half at a time. at most take 5 halfs a day..???
