Percocet and ibuprofen

Common Questions and Answers about Percocet and ibuprofen

percocet

a bit less of the crazy shaking and limb activity. Taking ibuprofen only for pain and drinking as much water, herb tea etc as possible, eating a little every couple of hour...whatever I can keep down, thinking positive thoughts, lots of hot showers. Do whatever it takes. Hang in there. You can do it!!
Paracetamol (Tylenol) and Ibuprofen (Advil) for aches and pains. Travel sickness tablets for nausea (only take when needed as they can make your muscles twitch). Imodium for diarrhoea RLS tablets for restless legs. You can get these from your pharmacy. Valerian and Melatonin or 5HTP for anxiety and to help you sleep. A good vitamin supplement. You can get these from a healthfood store or online.
I have a situation. A pregnant woman was given percocet for pain and the full term baby died in uteral. The baby's skin was peeled off. Does anyone know if this could have been a side effect or allergic reaction of the percocet? The baby is my grand baby.
I have been prescribed 600mg ibuprofen and 5mg/325mg percocet. I had #31 extracted today and am continuing to have much pain even after taking the meds. For previous extractions and dental surgeries I was prescribed 600mg ibuprofen and 5mg/500mg vicodin; that combination worked MUCH better. Am I having more pain this time because the extraction was a lower molar? Or, does the vicodin just work better than percocet for some patients?
It's probably more dangerous to have the high blood pressure associated with severe migraines than to take the Percocet. I suffer migraines and I'm praying that I don't get one in the next 7 1/2 months. If I do, then I'm told that that's the medication I'm supposed to take. For me, I can't just put ice on my neck and sit in a dark room. It's way too painful. Hope that helps.
I had been taking Ibuprofen, but have had to stop because my legs went red, very painful (not my usual arthritic pain) and swelled up. Since stopping the Ibuprofen my legs have now got back to normal. Unfortunately my arthritic pains are pretty bad because I am not taking any medicaiton for it. My doctor told me that Ibuprofen can cause odema.
My pain Doc told me that I wouldn't have withdrawals being on the patch if I don't take the Percocet. It's hard for me to get through without the Percocet...for the pain and life but I have to do it. My appointment is 2 weeks away and I only have 10 Percocet left but plenty of Fentanyl. I have to get through. I'm tired of the lies and trying to get an early appointment, etc. Enough is enough. I can do this right??? Thank you again!!!
heating pad, ibuprofen, and benydrll. Lots of love and good prayers.
so now a doctor swiched me to percocet 10/325 tylenol and gave me some zantacs. do u think he did a good idead r is he an r -tard. i found no evedince of tylenol causing ulcers or bleeding in the stomach just liver damage if gone over the limit. i hope it helps with my stomach pain. ibeprophen *****.
I forgot to mention, the amount of percocet, vicodin, and tylox (primarily percocet)I have been using on a daily basis. 6 years ago I was introduced to percocet (maybe it was vicodin...no matter, its all the same in one way or another)by a friend who had had a wisdom tooth pulled. I knew nothing about them before that night, though for some reason, I cant ever remember being happy before them....but I guess I was.
You can get addicted to ANY Narcotic out there, from Vicodin to Percocet to Fentanyl....doesn't matter which one. And ALL will cause w/d if you use them to "get high" and then stop suddenly. It's not just the "Big Dogs" everyone.... Your body will develope a "TOLERANCE" to any Narcotic also.......and a Pain Dr. knows that and can w/d you safely and with no w/d symptoms if you need to be taken off anything.
I have been prescribed percocet to maintain my arthritis pain and I am only 6 weeks pregnant. Is this really safe? The prescription says 1-2, 3 times daily. I have been talking 2-3 in a 24 hour period. I am assuming less is better in this case?
Well, my mouth still feels raw, and am getting more little blisters, and I think it may be a reaction from the Percocet. Bob, I know you are gonna make it, and my heart will be with you. I know it won't be an easy thing to do, but you will make it because you want to. I am trying to find a site on aol, that use to be here, ask a dr or something like that. Do you know what I'm referring to? Have a great holiday yourself, if I don't hear from you before.
It started out I was making it every month then after each surgery it got worse and worse and I used more and more! It went from making it to two weeks and now I am making it a single week on 90. I really need something for pain or I can't walk. I need to know how to make it possible to make my pills last the whole 30 days again, and if it is possible. Before my accident I had never taken any kind of pain meds.
I have rotated off some heavy duty meds and this one takes the cake and the whole bakery as far as physical detox goes, wow terrible. I don't have the luxury of trying some new "self proclaimed supposed to be effective" medicine. I need something that works. Does that mean that percocet is my only option? I know it works well, but can anyone suggest some equivalent options? Any idea is welcome. Thank you so much.
Not a good idea - see a Dr. and find a good non-narcotic way to manage your pain. And alternative therapies are a good thing to also look into. Take percocet for norco withdrawal is like drinking gin for vodka withdrawal. NOT a good idea!! Good luck to you - and hang in there. Time is your very best friend right now.

Hi Everyone, ***3 Weeks and 4 days since I stopped my Percocet and Oxycontin*** Just thought that I'd provide an update to everyone. I finally started feeling 100% about 1 week ago.. My leg still hurts and a bit here and there, but I'm no longer feeling the side effects of coming off of the hydrocodone. I appreciate everyone's support and hope that my words here and there helped suipport at least one other person.
I've had just about every side effect in the book and then some, and I haven't needed any opiate based pain killers. Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, naproxen, anti-histamines, moisturizing lotions, sleep aids (lunesta), anti-depressants and prednisone? Saure. But opiates? Nah. Treatment usually causes fatigue, exhaustion, irritability, insomnia, mental confusion, depression, hair loss, itching, skin rash, dandruff, psoriasis, anemia, neutropenia etc etc.
I've heard that medicines like ibuprofen can interfere with U/As, and so does urine output, and it seems that most doctors aren't even using the right test to detect percocet levels. I guess I'm wanting to know where I go from here. I'm in constant pain. I'm worried that seeing another pain doc won't do any good because I've clearly been mislabeled. It's humiliating for me to have to admit I'm in so much pain that I have to take narcotics every day.
Hi guys. :) This is my first day on this forum. I need some emotional support! I'm on day 1 of percocet withdrawal and I know it's only going to get worse. I've been on about 80mg/day for 8 months. I just am looking for an idea of what to expect: a) how many days am I going to be "down for the count" and unable to return to work, and b) what are the typical things I can expect, and finally c) which day(s) are going to be the worst?
Hi i been on Percocet for a year now.i am 9 weeks pregnant.i still take about 20 mg a day.i told my doctor about it but she said to stop takin them.but I need them but I am really concerned.will it affect my baby's brain.will it make my baby slow or deformed.i am really worried cuz I am still takin them every day.i read all these story's about girls takin them while pregnant n said they were safe as long as u don't abuse them.
I came across this sight because I recently had surgery and was prescribed Percocet and needed it. It has been quite a challenge to keep that voice inside my head from telling me that I really need more. But now that I havent needed them I have had headaches...*****. Meetings are everywhere with people just like me.
Some stones I can pass with ibuprofen, but anything bigger than 4mm requires narcotic pain meds. I would love to her feedback and idea's from those of you with chronic pain.
i had the same problem take to much in the beginning and run out at the end, good thing here is that we have a clinic you can go to and each visit they give u 12 so well that was always a back up but it was a 4 hour wait to get in. so sucked, and yea i still got pain from surgery and all and could get more for a while longer but have made the decision to quit so i did and ill never go back on them again. but if you feel you are going to be in trouble go see dr.
You'll have some aches and pains so get some plain paracetamol and ibuprofen to take as needed. Get some travel sickness tablets to combat nausea, but only take them if your nauseated (if you take too many they'll make you twitch!). Get some imodium for diarrhoea too. Various natural remedies will help you through this.
I am sitting in a bed right now due to acl reconstruction. I am on day3 it's 4 in the morning... and I just took two percocet and 1 toridol...or something like that. My mom is a nurse so I just do what she says.... I always find myself asking her..."I am not going to die am I" and she always says n o...and here I am today...so she is pretty trustworthy... the first day all I took was percocet and it didn't do anything. I stayed for 23 hour pbservation and was writhing in pain.
If adopted by the Food and Drug Administration, the changes would lower the maximum over-the-counter Tylenol dose and would ban two narcotic painkillers, Vicodin and Percocet, which also contain acetaminophen. Yet another painkiller, propoxyphene, was the target of FDA action on Tuesday. Also sold as Darvon and in an acetaminophen combination called Darvocet, it has been linked to accidental overdoses and suicides.
I had hernia surgery and was prescribed percocet 10mg.. It been 2 months and have stopped them but feeling really depressed and anxious. How long will this take to subside??? I usually half the 10mg and take half at a time. at most take 5 halfs a day..???
I'm having a really hard time right now, I did really good all day, and then poof all of a sudden the percocet monster attacked me. I am going absolutely crazy and I just feel like I'm the worst... I don't know how I got here, and I don't want to be here. But I know that I'm feeling this way for a reason, and that to stop feeling this way I have to stop taking this drug. I am trying to keep the goal in mind... but I feel so bad :( I can understand everything they say about addiction now...
